METHODOLOGY: Narrative study of articles indexed in PubMed, Medline, SciELO, and Google Scholar, in English and Spanish language, published between 2008 and April 2020 that contain in their title the keyword postpartum hemorrhage (MeSH) associated with uterine tamponade with hydrostatic balloon, Bakri balloon and uterine atony. RESULTS: 10,984 articles where identified with the key word “obstetric hemorrhage”, when associated with “intrauterine tamponade” they were reduced to 471 references with the final inclusion of 85 after fulfilling the requirements of the authors and 386 articles were excluded. CONCLUSIONS: The use of intrauterine tamponade devices with hydrostatic balloons, due to their high clinical efficiency, accessible cost, easy application, minimal complications, and scarce contraindications, should be a part the management protocols and always be available in all the different scenarios of obstetrical resolution, preserving its primary indication in persistent uterine atony, but expanding the possibilities of its use on placental bed bleeding, placenta previa, and in cases of specific placental acretism with segmental infiltration. The FDA-approved tumor markers are cancer antigen 15-3 (CA15-3) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), and are frequently used for the detection and control of breast cancer. OBJECTIVE: To present the current available information on the usefulness of tumor markers CA 15-3 and carcinoembryonic antigen in the detection of metastases and their prognostic value in breast cancer. METHODOLOGY: A systematic search of publications in English in the Medline- PubMed database was performed, using the terms: “biomarkers”, “tumor”, “tumor biomarkers”, “marker”, “tumor marker”, “breast neoplasms “,” breast “,” neoplasms “,” cancer “,” mucin-1 “,” ca 15 3 “,” carcinoembryonic antigen “. Original articles, clinical trials, reviews, systematic reviews and meta-analyzes, published between March 28, 2015 and March 25, 2020, were selected to determine the usefulness of the CA 15-3 antigen and carcinoembryonic antigen in breast cancer. RESULTS: Eleven publications that were relevant to determine the usefulness of tumor markers in breast cancer were selected for the writing of this article. CLINICAL CASE : We report the case of a 23-year-old female patient, late-term preg- nancy and labor. During labor conduction and after spinal analgesia, she presented cardiorespiratory arrest. After the start of basic resuscitation maneuvers, monitoring, and confirmed asystole, advanced maneuvers were started, culminating at 4 minutes with resuscitation hysterotomy and a subsequent spontaneous return of circulation. The patient required immediate post-arrest cares with follow-up and management in the intensive obstetric care unit for one month, after which the patient was discharged with minimal compromise of her superior mental functions; after 3 months of out clinic follow-up, the patient was healthy and her superior functions deemed to have been fully restored. CONCLUSIONS: Due to the ethical implications and characteristics of the pathol- ogy, there are no experimental models to establish measures during cardiopulmonary resuscitation in pregnancy, they are developed based on the review of clinical cases and the study of cardiovascular physiology during pregnancy. CLINICAL CASE: A 31-year-old patient who went to the emergency department for severe and disabling abdominal pain in the hypogastrium, shock index 1.3, with signs of peritoneal irritation, ultrasound was performed, which reported free fluid in the pelvic cavity and Morrison space, extrauterine gestational sac at the level of the left annex, embryo without heartbeat, craniocaudal length of 11 weeks of gestation, exploratory laparotomy was performed, in which hemoperitoneum of 2800 cc was observed, uterine rupture in the right cornual region of approximately 8x6cm, with fetus e integrity of the amniotic sac adjacent to the uterine rupture, the patient reported satisfied parity, and therefore a total abdominal hysterectomy was decided. CONCLUSIONS: Interstitial ectopic pregnancy shares the same risk factors as tubal pregnancy.
