The expert control of yam storage system is formulated in the form of fuzzy rules. The inputs to the controller are the outside and inside temperature, wind speed and presences of rain. The output is the window opening angle. Simulations were performed for different typical levels of input parameters and also for extreme fictitious conditions. The results shown that, the controller is capable of responding to the changes in temperature conditions by adjusting the window opening angle to keep the internal temperature within acceptable range. The landmine sweeping technique under study utilizes state-of-the-art techniques in digital image processing for pre-processing captured images of the area being scanned. After enhancing the scanned images, data is fed into a processing unit that implements the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) in order to classify the landmines' make and model. The Back-Propagation algorithm is used for teaching the network. The system proved to be able to identify and classify different types of landmines under various conditions with a success rate of up to 90%. Despite its overwhelming local demand in Malaysia and also internationally, the fruit supply never meets the demand. The flowering phase is identified as an important stage as plant reproductive physiology. Currently, Harumanis mango flowering only happens once a year and this restricts the yield of this particular mango. In this paper, a model is introduced that address the a biotic factors that induce flowering in mango. Next the model is implemented in agent-based decision support system. The system could be used to support the farmers in decision making, monitoring and controlling the mango trees environment in greenhouse. Author of this paper introduces a notion of predictable time-based obstacles. The algorithm proposed in the paper defines a centralized obstacle-map that is shared among multiple agents (robots) performing path planning. Each robot plans its path individually on an obstacle-map using a slightly modified version of D* Lite and then shares an updated version of the map, which includes its planned path as a new obstacle, with its peers. The planned paths appear as temporary time-based obstacles to peer robots. Planned paths are divided into discrete temporal sections so as to help peer robots optimize paths temporally. The proposed algorithm also presents a priority measure which helps us decide the optimized sequence of individual pathplanning order followed by cooperating robots. Since the implemented algorithm is tested in simulation using Mobile robot Programming Toolkit, the Real–time performance analysis is done to confirm the real-time execution time of the proposed algorithm. On the other hand, a thin i-layer cannot absorb enough light. So Thickness of i-layer is a key parameter that can limit the performance of amorphous thin film solar cells. On the other hand, introducing Ge atoms to the Si lattice in Si-based solar cells is an effective approach in improving their characteristics. Especially, current density of the cell can be enhanced without deteriorating its open circuit voltage. In this paper, real printed circuit boards used are captured using a monochrome charged coupled device camera and produced images consisting of foreground and background objects in gray-scale format. In order to correctly differentiate these two kinds of attributes, several of thresholding algorithms are applied. Then, misclassification error measure has been employed to evaluate the performances of these thresholding algorithms. This method gives information on how many percentages of background pixels wrongly assigned to foreground, and foreground pixels wrongly assigned to background pixels. Such individualization entails provision of relevant and prioritized information to patients. Many current consumer health information systems are capable of providing relevant information base on the patients medical records or history, risk assessment and information prioritization, are yet to be practiced. We have proposed a comprehensive Diabetes Risk Assessor (DRA ) through knowledge management (KM ) to score the risk and individualize priority of information for diabetic patients. Applying KM in healthcare system is nothing-supernatural constituent. Years of research and effort to implement KM been executed and it can be conclude that KM provides promising approach to a successful healthcare knowledge management system. The traditional healthcare patient-physician relationship now changed into dynamic means where the physicians able to treat the patient although separated by the geographical factor. KM also allows sharing of healthcare information between medical practitioners regardless of place and time. Recently, many attempts have been made to make the algorithm practical to run against the publicly available genome databases on large parallel clusters. This paper presents our experience in evaluating both the serial and parallel BLAST algorithms onto a large Infiniband-based diskless High Performance Cluster (HPC) that offers lower hardware cost and improved reliability, as opposed to traditional disk full clusters. The paper also presents the evaluation methodology along with the experimental results to illustrate the scalability of the BLAST algorithm on our HPC system. For our measurement and comparison, we considered cluster sizes up to 32 compute nodes. This paper enhances an existing approach, which is based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for solving routing problem in VLSI circuits. A two-step Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (BPSO) approach, which is based on BPSO, is chosen in this study to improve time delay through finding the best path of wire placement with buffer insertion from source to sink. The best path of wire placement is found in the first step by the first BPSO and then the second BPSO finds the best location of buffer insertion along the wire. This paper presents an approach to achieve high recognition rate from classification of medical x-ray images. The methodology is based on local binary pattern as a feature extraction technique and support vector machine (SVM) as a classifier. This classification model was built based on merging scheme where overlapped classes were combined with each other and SVM classifier was re-trained to construct the model. The overlapped classes used in merging scheme are detected based on their accuracy, miss-classification ratio and similarity in their body anatomy. The proposed algorithm was evaluated on a database consisting of 36 classes of medical X-ray images which are suffering from high inter-class similarity and intra-class variability.
