The following age heaping measures are being used, each with its recommended population age span: Whipple, Myers, Bachi, UNASA, Kannisto, Coale and Li. In addition, the Kannisto measure of old age overstatement is used. Our analysis corroborates the results of our measures with the demographic characteristic of the Romanian population. We aim to establish whether; (a) the data spanning the time interval 1966–1989 is more accurate than the data collected during the 1990–2018 interval, (b) the Romanian data is at least of comparable quality with the tier 2 HMD data and/or (c) the Romanian data is not grossly inaccurate and therefore suitable for research. We find support for (a) and, cautioning against the live data for the time interval 2002–2018, for (b) and (c). Limitations aside (no through overstatement or cohort analysis), this is the first study to attempt such evaluation and hopefully not the last.</p> </abstract>","PeriodicalId":125153,"journal":{"name":"National Accounting Review","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135798381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The identification of the monetary attribute of stablecoins is a prerequisite for their supervision. Based on the essence and macroeconomic effects of money, this paper analyzes the monetary attribute of stablecoins from theoretical and empirical perspectives. We find that in the traditional financial market, stablecoins are not widely accepted, and their increased supply competes with traditional financial assets. As new types of digital assets, they do not possess a monetary attribute. However, in the digital asset market, stablecoins are widely used. The increase in issuance pushes up asset prices and brings liquidity effects to the market. Therefore, stablecoins possess a monetary attribute in the digital asset market and play the role of \"digital fiat currency\". This private sector liquidity is not controlled by the government and tends to accumulate risk. Therefore, the government should clarify the legal attribute of stablecoins according to their monetary attribute, strengthen the supervision of stablecoin issuers and prevent the private sector from monopolizing the digital asset market transaction medium.</p> </abstract>","PeriodicalId":125153,"journal":{"name":"National Accounting Review","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135652649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The gap between the elderly and the digital age has to some extent reduced their motivation to participate in social activities. To explore the smartphone use behavior of the elderly, this study developed an extended model based on the technology acceptance model. A hybrid survey was carried out with data collection both online and offline. A total of 271 valid questionnaires were collected through offline field interviews and online distribution of questionnaire links, and hypothesis testing was conducted using path analysis. The results showed that both perceived usefulness and attitude toward using could directly, positively and significantly influence the intention to use. Moreover, perceived playfulness and perceived ease of use showed positive and significant relationships with perceived usefulness and attitude toward using, respectively. Therefore, we suggest that smartphone companies focus on improving perceived playfulness when designing and developing product features or applications for the elderly to increase their competitiveness based on ensuring basic technical features.</p> </abstract>","PeriodicalId":125153,"journal":{"name":"National Accounting Review","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135551034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this paper is to investigate the relative impact of talent and gender on wages and value generation among highly qualified white-collar workers in the Spanish tourism sector. Our results show relevant information on the attitude of firms toward talent management and reward and highlight the relevance of sectoral agreements in the hospitality sector. The results suggest a growing commitment among Spanish hospitality companies to the better management of talent and the commitment of workers with education as the best way to keep their job and improve their career. Our findings highlight union negotiations to reduce the gender wage gap, as well as with to improve significantly some variables related to human capital and suggests a commitment on the part of companies to retain talent. However, this increase differed by gender: more managerial positions were gained by men than by women.","PeriodicalId":125153,"journal":{"name":"National Accounting Review","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114980831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The model is calibrated to Bulgarian data for the period 1999–2018, which is after the introduction of the currency board arrangement. The quantitative importance of shocks to the discount factor is investigated for the propagation of cyclical fluctuations in Bulgaria. In particular, allowing for a stochastic discount factor in the setup improves the model fit vis-a-vis data by increasing variability of employment and wages. However, those improvements are at the cost of increasing the volatility of consumption and investment.","PeriodicalId":125153,"journal":{"name":"National Accounting Review","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127748251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper finds that causes of these trends are not cyclical, but structural, that is, the process of deglobalization of the international market and transformation of the very foundations of the international economic system is underway. The specific aim of the paper is to investigate the impact of current trends on China's economy. The question is whether the Chinese economy, which has developed due to globalization processes, will be negatively affected by reverse processes and to what extent. The empirical analysis reveals very strong dependence of the Chinese economy on international economic trends. In spite of new development strategy which includes separation of the Chinese economy from disturbing external effects, most of current deglobalization trends have strong negative effects.","PeriodicalId":125153,"journal":{"name":"National Accounting Review","volume":"134 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116578593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An analysis of the stability of such a solution is also provided. The algorithm for constructing complex indexes is implemented with the definition of non-random variables of the principal component characterizing the structure of the system under discussion. The algorithm uses a new approach to choose the principal component number, determine the weights of the considered variables and subsystems, and to determine the information content of the complex index based on the selected signal-to-noise ratio parameter. The algorithm was used to obtain complex indexes of quality of life for Russia’s constituent entities for 2007–2016. The analysis of the obtained solution’s quality shows its high resistance to changes in the input data.","PeriodicalId":125153,"journal":{"name":"National Accounting Review","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116246786","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
