The design technique utilizes translinear principle circuit to realize current mode absolute-value, squarer, averaging and square root circuit. The circuit employs CMOS transistors operating in weak inversion region, and features very low power (>1uW), low supply voltage (0.8V) and wide input dynamic range (0.5nA to 500nA) with the error less than 2%. Simulation results by HSPICE show high performance of the circuit and confirm the validity of the proposed design technique.","PeriodicalId":123701,"journal":{"name":"The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125273038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, during practical application, the “clipping” problem aggravates power loss and reduces reliability. We therefore present an anti-clipping protection system incorporated with proposed PWM-based multilevel class-D amplifier to enhance the audio quality and reliability. The multilevel technique consists of a time-division-adder and a multilevel converter to generate and deliver multilevel signal as stairway. In addition, the pulse density adjustment technique dynamically adjusts the power delivery according to the results of the anti-clipping detection circuit. Under the protection operation, experiments results show that the intensity and excessive heat of “clipping” will be greatly reduced over 25% and 40% which demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":123701,"journal":{"name":"The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125525371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents data structures and algorithms of a utility program which automatically detects and corrects the mismatch Thai/English keyboard layout error during typing on the fly. The program hooks keyboard events and concurrently searches for closest-matched words in Thai and English dictionaries. The dictionaries are encoded using depth-limited tries for time and space efficiencies. Various heuristics are used to compute certainty level of error detection to minimize false correction. The program can handle typing with over 100 words per minute. It works effectively without noticeable system interruption.","PeriodicalId":123701,"journal":{"name":"The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125536040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The use of 13-bit binary codewords provides a new coding compatible with ISO/IEC 18004 in a similar fashion as Shift JIS. In addition, the new coding can be used as an extension of TIS620 in order to maintain interoperability with an existing Thai industrial standard. In our approach, the words are extracted by our words separation program to a basic unit of word components. Four domains of Thai words often found in a daily-life are statistically chosen here: news, product names, person names and addresses. The result shows that the use of 13 bit-codewords to represent these chosen words enables space saving of more than 20%","PeriodicalId":123701,"journal":{"name":"The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114250220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The bicycle is attached with a gyroscopic flywheel acting as an actuator for roll angle stabilization. The nonlinear model of the system is approximated by piecewise affine functions which minimizes the model error even outside the operating regions. The controller synthesis problem is cast as Linear Matrix Inequalities problem. The feasible control law is derived based on quadratic Lyapunov function to guarantee the system stability for all regions. The simulation confirms the effectiveness of this approach.","PeriodicalId":123701,"journal":{"name":"The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128473991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The BMS is a necessary component for an optimal operation of power-train in the SHEV shuttle bus including for timely detection of an abnormal condition during charging and discharging the battery pack. The presented BMS consists of a central management unit (transmitter) and a user interface unit (receiver). The crucial indicator of the present state of the battery is the state-of-charge (SOC). The function test of the BMS is concentrated on the control of the generator-set under consideration of the state-of-charge which is determined by the open-circuit method combined with the coulomb counting method. The accuracy of the SOC determination was verified by the comparison with the specific gravity method.","PeriodicalId":123701,"journal":{"name":"The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128653677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The samples in this study were prepared by sol-gel technique. These thin films were characterized by X-ray diffractometer technique. XRD analysis revealed that the Bi-doped thin films after annealing indicated good preferential orientation along c-axis perpendicular to the substrate, in particular very low concentration of Bi dopant. As a result, it indicated that Bi atoms acting as donor impurities can be in phase of ZnO. The surface morphology was characterized by using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). The visible region was measured by UV-VIS spectrophotometer. Finally, the optical band gap of undoped and Bi-doped ZnO thin films were obtained by the Tauc plot. Varying the Bi doped in the range of 0.2–0.6 at.% under annealing temperature at 600 °C caused a no significant change in optical band gap. In contrast, the annealing procedure produced significant changes from 3.27eV to 3.32eV in the optical band gap in order to higher blue responsibility for photovoltaic.","PeriodicalId":123701,"journal":{"name":"The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129430910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An overall PSS is utilized for all of the generators and its output is connected separately to the generators excitation systems. Moreover, a terminal voltage feedback is employed for damping oscillations. Comparing the simulation results shows a considerable improvement in the oscillations of the rotor speed, generator power, and terminal voltage. The proposed method is feasible and cost effective.","PeriodicalId":123701,"journal":{"name":"The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129093579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prototype antenna has small size of about 38 × 45 mm2 and fabricated on a simple FR-4 PCB with a CPW-fed structure. This antenna is supported UWB (Ultra-wideband) applications as required by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) with the frequency range of about 3.1–10.6 GHz, covering of IEEE 802.15.3a and also IEEE 802.16a standards. The structural simulation technique was used to analyze the antenna characteristics, utilizing the commercial software Computer Simulation Technology (CST). The measured input impedance bandwidth (return loss < −10 dB) of the prototype antenna was 162.52% for the frequency range of about 2.49 – 24.09 GHz. The radiation patterns were bidirectional along the proposed frequency band.","PeriodicalId":123701,"journal":{"name":"The 8th Electrical Engineering/ Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI) Association of Thailand - Conference 2011","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130655990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
