The people can hardly adapt to these changes because they are very dynamic and intensive. Losing the self-confidence on the power to solve important tasks, people seek help in religion. The religion as a historical category extends its lifetime in the modern society. Through its teachings, religion establishes a mutual relationship with man, offering solutions to the many issues that human beings face in their everyday life. Also, there must be emphasized the activities of the confessional communities that use their organizational forms and insist on attracting attention, at the same time filling the blank spaces left by the other social institutions and organizations.","PeriodicalId":123530,"journal":{"name":"Социолошка ревија/The Sociological review","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127826484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis of the historical genesis of these important events begins as early as in the 2nd and 3rd century (the pre-Constantinian period), with a special emphasis on the period of the 6th century when many intensive events happened, which were also relevant for the development, and in specific epochs also the stagnation of the development of Christianity in Macedonia. At the same time, the study will clarify the relentless persecutions of Christians which were timely determined by the rule of specific emperors and their attitudes in regard to Christianity and Christians. The study opens new scientific challenges about the research of this insufficiently explored period in the area of late antique Macedonia, the episcopal seats, the vast number of churches in Macedonia from this period (more than three hundred churches from the early Christianity). This study unequivocally confirms the thesis that the territory of Macedonia is a bridge for the future expansion and establishment of Christianity in Europe.","PeriodicalId":123530,"journal":{"name":"Социолошка ревија/The Sociological review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130144473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With our analysis, based on multiple sources of data, we would like to confirm the assumption that during a long period of time, and especially after the Greek Civil War, Macedonians were - and are still - exposed to various forms of institutional and non-institutional repression, which presents trauma with consequences on the individual and collective level. The consequences of this repression are felt by the Republic of Macedonia in which a large number of expelled Macedonians - citizens of Greece - have settled. The general attitude of the Macedonian citizens in relation to the name dispute is largely interwoven by feelings of trauma arising from the stated exodus and the contemporary course of policies that shape up the relations between the two countries, but also the international political situation of the Republic of Macedonia, the membership of the UN and in particular the processes of integration in the European Union and NATO.","PeriodicalId":123530,"journal":{"name":"Социолошка ревија/The Sociological review","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132448756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a reflection of the dynamics of modern society that develops much more complex stratification schemes that are analysed with a new categorical apparatus that includes lifestyle. This article aims to present the conceptualization of lifestyle in the theory of two classical authors in sociology, such as Thorstein Veblen and Max Weber and three contemporary sociologists, such as Pierre Bourdieu, Ulrich Beck and Anthony Giddens. By analysing the concepts of these authors we will discover the evolution, characteristics and meaning of life style in different socio-historical contexts.","PeriodicalId":123530,"journal":{"name":"Социолошка ревија/The Sociological review","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115377715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper analyses the basic processes and tendencies o f the transitional and the post-war changes in the sphere o f the family through empirical research carried out in the area o f the city o f East Sarajevo. The family was brought back to some earlier forms o f family life due to the severe effects o f the war, the pauperization, the destruction o f reproduction and the general vulnerability o f the family members. On the other side, the family has been exposed to certain processes typical o f the developed Western countries: decreased birth rate and fertility, increased extramarital birth rate and different kinds o f cohabitation, etc. Taking into consideration all o f the above-mentioned, we can talk about certain transformational mixture: the adoption o f some trends from the West and the simultaneous process o f re-traditionalization.
