De par la mise en jeu du pronostic fonctionnel et le taux de mortalité important associé, elle demeure un vrai défi de santé actuellement. L’objectif de cette étude était de décrire le profil épidémiologique et thérapeutique des fractures de l’extrémité proximale du fémur. \u0000Méthodes : Il s’agissait d’une étude rétrospective, observationnelle, descriptive des patients hospitalisés au Service de Traumatologie Orthopédie et Rééducation Fonctionnelle du Centre Hospitalier de Soavinandriana pour une fracture de l’extrémité proximale du fémur sur une période de deux ans, allant du 01 Janvier 2019 au 31 décembre 2020, avec un recul minimal de six mois. \u0000Résultats : 24 cas de fractures de l’extrémité proximale du fémur étaient retenus avec un âge médian de 68,79 ans et un sex-ratio de 1. La majorité était victime d’un accident domestique par chute sur sa hauteur.  Le type de fracture était basi-cervical et trochantérien dans 58,33% des cas et cervical vrai dans 41,67%. Tous les patients avaient bénéficié d’un traitement chirurgical dont 54,17% une ostéosynthèse par DHS ; 4,17% par vissage du col fémoral et 41,67% une arthroplastie par prothèse de Moore. Le patient a été traité par réduction fermée avec un embrochage percutané trapézo-métacarpienne et embrochage inter-phalangienne suivis d’une immobilisation plâtrée de 6 semaines. Après des séances de rééducation fonctionnelle régulières, les résultats étaient satisfaisants à 1 an de recul. Dans ces conditions, une méthode chirurgicale moins invasive mais stable peut constituer une alternative thérapeutique de l’arthroplastie. L’objectif de ce travail était de montrer l’intérêt de l’ostéosynthèse par les vis à compression dans la prise en charge des fractures du col fémoral. \u0000Patients et méthodes : Il s’agissait d’une étude rétrospective et descriptive sur une période de 12 mois allant du 1er novembre 2018 au 31 octobre 2019, des patients opérés pour une fracture du col fémoral par des vis à compression du système BIFIXE®.  Cette étude a été réalisée au sein du centre hospitalier de Mont-de-Marsan. \u0000Résultats : La série était composée de 16 patients, dont pour 6 patients (37,5%), présentaient une contre-indication anesthésique et de l’arthroplastie. L’âge moyen des patients était de 81,06 ans avec une prédominance féminine. On notait des comorbidités dans 81,25% des cas et parmi les patients, 56,25% présentaient une altération de l’état général à leur admission.  Le score ASA était de 3 dans 62,50% des cas et ASA 2 dans 37,50%. Les fractures instables prédominaient dont Garden III (37,5%) et Garden IV (18,75%). Les patients étaient opérés avant les 48e  heures dans 81,25% des cas et la durée moyenne de l’intervention était de 33 minutes. Le score de PMA révélait un excellent résultat dans 37,5% et bon 25%. Des complications étaient constatées dans 37,5% des cas et concernaient essentiellement les patients classés Garden III et IV. \u0000Conclusion: L’ostéosynthèse par des vis à compression des fractures du col fémoral était à la fois un acte peu invasif et stable. Tijani","doi":"10.53555/ephmhs.v8i12.1949","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.53555/ephmhs.v8i12.1949","url":null,"abstract":"Background: Alcohol consumption by drivers at the point of duty is a public health problem which endangers several families. \u0000Objectives: The study assessed the pattern, types, sources, reason for alcohol consumption, effect as well as the anti-social behaviors associated with and related to its consumption among motor vehicle drivers in selected garages in Auchi, Edo State. \u0000Materials and methods: Descriptive study among 93 commercial vehicle drivers selected using simple random sampling technique. Data collected with a questionnaire were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24 and reported in the form of frequencies, percentages and pie chart. \u0000Results: The drivers consumed alcohol often; typically consumed dry gin, local gin and herbs in gin which they majorly purchased at the motor park. The drivers use alcohol to reduce stress, gain self-confidence and enhance driving, even though they knew that it had effect on their health. Only a few commercial vehicle drivers reported that they exhibit anti-social behaviours which was contrary to the statistical result which showed that there were significant relationships between alcohol consumption and involvement in traffic offence cum fighting. \u0000Conclusions: The commercial vehicle drivers largely consume alcohol not minding the effect on their health. Quand elles sont anciennes, elles posent un problème de prise en charge thérapeutique et pronostic.\u0000Les auteurs présentent un cas de fracture négligée de type Hahn-Steinthal du coude chez un adulte. Health workers were suffering from mental imbalance during the lockdown in Bangladesh. The scare of infection and the lockdown system changed a lot in the daily life of healthcare providers in Dhaka city. The aim of this study is in discover the psychological influence the disease of COVID-19, particularly factors in the hazardous of mental stress, anxiety, loneliness and depression.\u0000Methods\u0000The study, conducted with a sample of 588 subjects distributed by eighteen hospitals in Dhaka city, allowed us to collect information about the health provider's findings on the psychological impact of the health provider during the lockdown of hospitals in Dhaka city.\u0000Results\u0000This investigation show that more than half of the sample considered among the healthcare providers in Dhaka city hospitals had levels of stress, depression and anxiety.  Depression and anxiety depend significantly on the healthcare providers of Dhaka city hospitals for a number of reasons. These include fear of Covid-19, excessive compulsive work stress, job insecurity, helplessness, anxiety about family members, salary deduction etc.\u0000Conclusions\u0000We conclude that the lockdown system had a very strong psychological effect on the healthcare providers in Dhaka city.  During the lockdown in Bangladesh, health workers were suffering from mental imbalance. This finding showed that aloneness, sadness, anxiousness and difficulty sleeping were among health providers during lockdown.
