By standing on the shoulders of giants, the combination of the real-world problem, decoding the process of neural networks hardware design and using HLS as hands-on lab, the students are able to not only pick up the underlying concepts of digital system design naturally but also implement a real working neural networks hardware accelerator in person. Thus, the main contribution of the work is to facilitate the engineering education of hardware design more engaging and practical.","PeriodicalId":122628,"journal":{"name":"2019 20th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"125 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122507937","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The possibilities of applying dynamic identification with a discrete linear model in the evaluation of the dynamics of electro-hydraulic servo-drive are presented. This assessment is of key importance when designing modern power or positioning control systems. Experimental data is used to determine the dynamics of the real system model and to estimate the unknown parameters of the model. The article presents selected results of current identification tests of the electro-hydraulic servo system, as a result of which a discrete parametric model of object was derived.","PeriodicalId":122628,"journal":{"name":"2019 20th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124044217","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Stair climbing or uneven terrain is a real challenge. Current models use two methods to overcome this problem. The first method is to move with the mixed wheels/tracks. The tracks are used for movement on stairs or rough terrain and wheels in the rest of the cases. The second method uses multiple wheels to solve the staircase issue. In this paper the authors propose a wheelchair whose wheels have variable geometry. When the stairs or rough terrain type appears, the wheels change their geometry by adjusting to the ground. Practically the wheelchair wheel is made up of slices/spokes that can extend linearly and controlled, along the wheel's rays. Thus, the contour of the wheel can be modeled so that it becomes the negative of the ground, and the movement of the seat is made along some curves or linear trajectories. The actuator used for the wheel extension is a hybrid structure combining a spring-type actuator with a rheological hydraulic piston. For extension of wheel spokes the spring action is used. The retraction of the wheel elements is made by trough of the weight of the wheelchair. The control of the extension and retraction of the wheel spokes are made through by the control of a rheological piston. In the paper is also presented the control algorithm for movement to a known topometry field.","PeriodicalId":122628,"journal":{"name":"2019 20th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127909795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the first part of the paper, the mathematical model of a simplified active suspension system is derived using the classical Newton laws. The model is represented in the form of a linear first order differential equations system. The control strategy adopted in this paper is Iterative Learning Control (ILC), a control approach intensively used for repetitive processes. In this paper, the repetitive behavior is represented by the body vehicle reaction to track irregularities. From many variants of ILC available in the literature, few simple algorithms were presented: the well-known PD – type algorithms. An heuristic design procedure is implemented for control of a linearized version of the active suspension system. The performances of the proposed control procedure are tested by numerical simulations. The results obtained from the performed simulations show the feasibility of the proposed methods in the case of step-type perturbations.","PeriodicalId":122628,"journal":{"name":"2019 20th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125819267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many factors determine the efficient operation of a photovoltaic cell, such as the intensity and the spectral composition of illumination. Such parameters are the surface temperature of the solar cell, the intensity and spectral composition of the illumination, ambient temperature, contaminations in the air and on the surface of the cells. Present study is bound to describe the effect of temperature gradient on the amperage and power output of a commercial solar cell through experimental and numerical methods. Said investigations made it possible to better our knowledge about the behavior of a solar cell using constant intensity illumination with and without cooling. After the measurements, we came to the conclusion that by increasing the temperature of the solar cell, the power output will drop. Comparing these results with that of the simulations, we can state that a good tendential similarity was achieved.","PeriodicalId":122628,"journal":{"name":"2019 20th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128452353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are some pilot products in electric cars production and still a lot of open questions connected with this new type of power source for vehicles. This article tries to answer at least to questions related to pollution and ecology. The comparative study and analysis of diesel engine vehicles and electric engine vehicles are made. The analysis is focused on an overall car production emission trace and lifetime emission trace. The global warming potential is calculated for gasoline/diesel engine car and comparable electrical engine car. The study is focused on vehicles driven in the Czech Republic. The vehicle operation area/country is an important factor in all emission calculation because electric car emissions depend on the type of power plant primary source and highlight the need for pollution friendly power sources.","PeriodicalId":122628,"journal":{"name":"2019 20th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133994898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The presented laser guidance system belongs to the family of the line following systems. The application of this system is particularly useful in indoor environments that do not allow for technological reasons, the implementation of colored or magnetic tracks. The laser guidance system is suitable for transparent linear point-to-point crossing or a sharp, angled trajectory without polynomial turns. The principle is based on a statically positioned laser beams, projected perpendicularly from the top of the room. Laser beams cross each other and they can be dynamically switched to new trajectories. The electronic control unit mounted on the top of the autonomous mobile platform then follows the current lit line and evaluates actions for the motor drives. Control system also includes collision detection with other mobile platforms or accidentally occurring objects.","PeriodicalId":122628,"journal":{"name":"2019 20th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126977403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Integrating solar power plants into the domestic electricity network raises serious regulatory issues. The voltage level provided by solar power plants can change rapidly, since it depends on environmental factors and on the surface temperature of the solar cells. At extreme temperatures, the provided voltage can exceed the prescribed standard value, therefore an intervention - primarily hysteresis voltage regulation - becomes necessary. The present study describes the effect of a 680.4 kWp solar power plant on the voltage of the power grid as a function of ambient temperature, through simulation results.","PeriodicalId":122628,"journal":{"name":"2019 20th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114477193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Integrated electro-hydraulic servo drives enable separate control of position, force and speed, combined force and position control, as well as control of motion synchronization of multiple drives.
