This is because employees need to be innovative and constantly equipped with skills and knowledge based on the dynamism and competitiveness of the market environment. Few studies have linked education and training to innovation, though none attempted to include the contingency variable that would bring more insights on the nature of this relationship. Therefore, this study attempted to include the variable of 'quality' as a contingency variable to determine if it influences this association considering that the 21st century is mainly centred on quality. The study's sample data were collected from some employees in TAZARA management and analysed using Jamovi. The results present that quality results completely mediate the association between education and training, and important innovations.","PeriodicalId":122274,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Knowledge Management in Tourism and Hospitality","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134954769","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research was conducted in hotels in the city of Medina in Saudi Arabia. As a quantitative study, both probability and non-probability sampling methods were used to select the 220 participants, who were hotel employees from a variety of backgrounds. A survey data collection tool was used alongside a questionnaire, and the data was processed with SPSS software. The findings showed that the servant leadership style places a high value on helping followers instead of trying to align their interests with that of the company. Servant leadership plays a major role in influencing LMX. LMX was identified as a strong mediator of servant leadership. Also, it was found that LMX is an important mediator of follower engagement where leadership effectiveness is positively related to follower engagement.","PeriodicalId":122274,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Knowledge Management in Tourism and Hospitality","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136028389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Drawing upon the social exchange theory this study investigated the impact of idiosyncratic deals on employee workplace deviance and to what extent psychological empowerment moderates the association between idiosyncratic deals and employee workplace deviance using SEM analysis. Seeing the trend of personalisation, firms have started practicing personalised human resource practices and adjusting work arrangements to match the demands of deserving employees and enterprises' strategic objectives to retain talented human resources. A total of 405 hotel front-line workers from a population of 25 classified and unclassified hotels from Haryana were surveyed. From a managerial perspective, results concluded that management and policymakers at the hospitality industry should prioritise the offering of personalised work arrangements based on employees personal and work requirements in order to build their sense of psychological empowerment, which in turn suppress their workplace deviances.","PeriodicalId":122274,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Knowledge Management in Tourism and Hospitality","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136029754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
