How to generate COAs quickly in a constantly changing battlefield environment to help stakeholders achieve the desired battlefield situation has become the focus of operation planning. In this paper, a novel approach based on the graph model for conflict resolution (GMCR) methodology is presented to cope with COA generation under antagonistic context. More specifically, an interactive decision analysis procedure is first proposed to promote action selections at strategic level considering the possible counters of enemy. Then, the modeling and analysis of COA generation in line with GMCR specifications are formally introduced to facilitate the identification of potential outcomes among stakeholders having diverse missions and decision styles. This approach is capable of predicting the possible COAs and the likely acceptable final states. Finally, the approach proposed in this paper is verified using an illustrative example.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"167 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115821722","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to operating in the environment, they also need to decide upon their status in the system of systems and be aware of their relations to constellations in the system of systems. To be able to make the best possible decisions, the constituent systems need to have an accurate situation awareness, i. e., an understanding of the environment they are in, what other elements are present therein and how this will develop in the future. In this paper we present an analysis of the situation awareness needs of a constituent system in different stages of its life-cycle: ignorant of the SoS; prepared forjoining the SoS; a passive CS; an active CS. A conclusion is that CS need to have world models that include information about other objects. Examples from the truck platooning application are given.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123245970","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As metropolitan areas such as New York, Paris and Singapore begin embedding smart technologies into their infrastructure, real-time data become available to citizens and governments. As a result, new challenges have emerged that raised questions about more optimal ways to govern and manage cities operating as systems of systems environments that are now more highly connected and dynamic than ever before. To assist governing bodies to effectively manage these quickly growing systems of systems, this paper proposes a conceptual framework with a set of core building block components required to develop governance dashboards for smart cities. A case study of Singapore Smart City Lamppost initiative is presented, which acts as a practical example of the development of these governance dashboards within the lampposts component of smart cities and serves as a possible blueprint for expanding this approach to the rest of the smart city infrastructure.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125315267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sensing data found at the Edge of the network, close to the environment where people are found, is a critical component with many modern applications. Often restrictions at the device level or on the available bandwidth limit the ability to capture all locally available data required for processing and analysis. In this research, we present a novel method for extracting sound from video data where no original sound was present. Our novel method of sound synthesis first uses the image features output from a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to determine class prediction weights using an advanced Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) network. A Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) is then used to generate the representative sound of the predicted class for the input video sample. By combining the output of many Auto Sound Generators in a System of Systems framework, we show that new applications emerge that were never before possible.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125532846","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the weighted geometric aggregation operator based on interval-valued q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets is investigated to handle complex preference information. First, the interval-valued q-rung orthopair fuzzy weighted geometric operator is characterized and investigated. Second, a novel decision-making method is established combing with the intervalvalued q-rung orthopair fuzzy weighted geometric operator to rank the decision-making alternatives, and the effectiveness of the decision-making method is verified by a numerical example.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125624544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A mathematical model of the problem is presented and several properties on the feasibility of solutions are formulated. An elimination property is proposed, allowing to disregard up to 75% of the solution space. We also show an interesting connection between the number of feasible solutions and Catalan numbers. To solve the problem for a fixed job order, we propose two algorithms: Mixed-Integer Linear Programming exact formulation and a greedy heuristic algorithm. An empirical evaluation shows a promising efficiency of the heuristic, providing an optimal or near-optimal solutions for problem instances with low setup and job times time deviation.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116520093","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Crashes cost the U.S. over $ 800 billion annually in lives lost or injured, lost productivity, and property damage. Many interventions have been adopted to reduce fatalities and serious injuries. A real-time crash intervention can estimate the chance of crash occurrence and analyze risk factors of live video streams captured by the onboard camera of a vehicle, so as to notify the driver to take the appropriate response. This application paper is aimed to improve the prediction to achieve an optimal system by integrating existing risk factors, the algorithms to identify and analyze risk factors result in visualization, etc. Existing systems are integrated into a System of Systems (SoS), the overall objective of which is to maximize the Key Performance Attributes (KPA): Performance of the SoS predicted Time, Performance of the SoS predicted Decision, Affordability, Scalability and Adaptability. The meta-architecture is structured as a chromosome assessed and selected with the non gradient optimization approach based on the simple genetic algorithm integrated with a Fuzzy Inference System.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122295566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article examines and compares the effectiveness of reducing the multidimensionality of decision tables for three RSES, jMAF, Weka programs and developed proprietary software using standard benchmarks. Next, the application of the reduction algorithm on the index generation function implementation is shown. Index generation functions are useful in the distribution of IP addresses, virus scanning or undesired data detection. In this paper an original method for the efficient implementation of index generation functions has been used. It is a multilevel logic synthesis scheme based on argument reduction that can be applied for novel heterogeneous programmable structures. Furthermore, taking into account the reduction algorithm, the discussed method is well suited to the ROM-based synthesis of index generation functions.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114713615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In March 2020, WHO declares the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic. The virus has spread quickly to all over China and most of the countries and regions within the increasing urbanization and globalization, infected more than three million people worldwide. A crucial factor that may significantly affect the spread of COVID-19 is the multiple, interactive, emergent, and complex characteristics and systems of the social systems. This paper describes a systems approach modeling and analyzing the emergence and spread of COVID-19 in urban systems, seeking to combine the multi-layer urban structure between complex infrastructure systems, human activities and policy systems. Moreover, a complex network model is built to illustrate the diffusion of the virus with or without the intervention of policy systems under the different policy intensity by the changed basic reproduction number (R0). Besides, a system dynamics model, including feedback loops and changes, is proposed to demonstrate how the COVID-19 spreads out under the interactive and interrelated characteristics and systems of the complex systems at different levels.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134112440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have realized a power circuit model which is divided in three parts, a rectifier (AC/DC) then a DC/DC Boost based on SiC-Mosfet and finally a Multistage Marx Generator based on SiCMosfet. This structure is intended for high voltage ($geq$1.2KV) and high frequency ($geq$100KHz) applications. In this proposal, a Proportional Integrator Controller is used to control the output voltage of DC/DC Boost converter and to provide a stable voltage for Multistage Marx generator. The originality of this proposal lies in the use of the Multistage Marx generator based on SiC Mosfet devices in the atomic probe tomography applications. We have validated this power circuit model with simulation results on MATLAB and SABER Software.","PeriodicalId":121664,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 15th International Conference of System of Systems Engineering (SoSE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115446497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
