One of the most important criteria for implant success is osseointegration [2]. Osseointegration is defined as the direct and functional connection between the implant and the bone surface [3]. Osseointegration also determines implant stability that is occurred in two different stages; primer and secondary stability [4]. Primer stability is related to the mechanical connection of the implant to the cortical bone. Sekonder stability is the biological stability between bone regeneration and remodeling [5]. The majority of the clinicians think that the loading should be applied after the direct relationship between the implant and the bone is obtained [6]. Mobility in implants is considered as a sign of a problem with osseointegration. For this reason, the lack of mobility and the fact that the implant-bone connection can be measured before loading is of great importance for the success of the implants in the future [7]. Although there are several methods of measuring implant stability such as radiographic analysis, insertion torque test, reverse torque tests, shear torque tests, percussion test, periotest and resonance frequency analysis [8-11], none of them provide established measurement standarts yet [12]. However, simple and non-invasive methods are recommended for measuring implant stability and osseointegration [8]. In this mini-review, all methods for dental implant stability measurement and recent developments are discussed.","PeriodicalId":121604,"journal":{"name":"Modern Approaches in Dentistry and Oral Health Care","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128947135","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They lead to earlier treatment of patients with MS what gives higher likelihood to keep patients fit and capable of working. Dissemination in time (DIT) and in space (DIS) are general rules which are necessary to diagnose MS what was maintained in all diagnostic criteria, which have been published up till now[1]. Current criteria were published in 2017 and enable diagnosing MS even in patients, who earlier could not have MS diagnosed. This results from the facts that CSF oligoclonal bands present in patients with DIS without DIT are enough to MS diagnose[2]. Some babies who have tongue tie don’t seem to be bothered by it. In others it can restrict the tongue’s movement,making it harder to breastfeed. Tongue tie is sometimes diagnosed during a baby’s routine newborn check but it is not always easy to spot. Tongue tie affects around 4-11% of newborn babies.It is more common in boys than girls and sometimes runs in families.Babies with tongue tie are not able to open their mouth wide enough to latch on the breast properly.They may have difficulty attaching to the breast or staying attached for a full feed,feed for a long time and be unsettled and seem hungry all the time.They may not gain weight as quickly as they should and can make a “clicking “sound as they feed [13]. Tongue tie can cause problems for a breastfeeding mother as sore or cracked nipples,low milk supply or mastitis. Recently,the subject tongue tie and breastfeeding received much attention in the press and media [4-7]. Tongue tie surgery is sky-rocketing in Australia. During 2006-2016 52.473 Medicare frenotomy items for 0-4 year old children were recorded;the rate increased from 1,22 per 1000 population in 2006 to 6,35 per 1000 in 2016.These data do not capture frenotomies performed by dentists by CO2 laser frenotomy [8]. Between 1997 and 2012 the U.S. showed an increase in frenotomies of 886% [9] and Canada (2004-2013) an increase of 89% [10]. Ths raises the question of whether this surgical management is supported by sufficient evidence [11,12]. In this mini-review pathogenesis,pathophysiology,course and treatment of tongue tie will be discussed.","PeriodicalId":121604,"journal":{"name":"Modern Approaches in Dentistry and Oral Health Care","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123866206","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is achieved by use of an impression coping which is attached to the implant or implant abutment. This impression coping is incorporated in an impression much as a metal framework is ‘picked up’ in a remount impression for fixed prosthodontics. With implant copings the coping is usually attached to the implant or abutment with screws. The impression material used is usually an elastomeric impression material; the two types most widely used and shown to be the most appropriate are polyether and polyvinyl siloxane impression materials [1]. Many articles have been written and many in vivo studies have been carried out to improve the fidelity of impressions over the use of pick up type impression copings alone [2]. Characteristics of the pickup type impression coping are that they are removed from the mouth together with the set impression. They require access to the retaining screw to allow release of the screw prior to removal of the impression coping impression assembly the analogues are attached to the impression copings while they are embedded in the impression tray. A custom tray with access to the impression coping screws is required [1]. An accurate transfer of relationship of multi-unit implants from mouth to the master cast demands a rigid splinting of impression copings. Auto-polymerizing acrylic resin, the most commonly used material for such splinting, exhibits polymerization shrinkage resulting inaccurate transfer of spatial relationship of implants from mouth to the master cast [3]. Numerous impression techniques have evolved to improve accuracy [4,5]. One technique involves tying open-tray impression copings together with floss, then splinting them together with self-curing resin [6].","PeriodicalId":121604,"journal":{"name":"Modern Approaches in Dentistry and Oral Health Care","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127662158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
