Good understanding of 2D-WH/TS codes if they would be based on picosecond multi-color pulses is therefore very important. In this paper we report results of our extensive investigation which has been focused on such codes performance when they were implemented in an OCDMA testbed connecting University of Strathclyde with Glasgow University and running at the data rate of OC-48 (2.5Gb/s). We will show that to maintain desired BER very accurate dispersion management of the transmission link must be maintained at all times. If this requirement is even slightly violated a high penalty in the form of strong BER deterioration will be inflicted.","PeriodicalId":121560,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st Telecommunications Forum Telfor (TELFOR)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125934315","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Probability density function (PDF) and moment generating function (MGF) of total received SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) are presented as fast converging sum. Furthermore, adequate semi-closed form expressions for average bit error rate (BER) and outage probability (OP) are derived. Numerical and simulation results confirm the validity of the proposed analytical model. Additionally, we analyzed the impact of unbalanced SNRs of the two hops on the error performance of the considered relay system.","PeriodicalId":121560,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st Telecommunications Forum Telfor (TELFOR)","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133045632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This technology has advantage of extending the coverage and increasing throughput without using large power at the transmitter. In this paper, the outage performance of dual-hop links with partial relay selection and co-channel interferers at both relay and destination in Rayleigh fading channel is investigated. The amplify-and-forward relaying is employed with the channel state information (CSI)-assisted relays requiring the CSI from the previous hop and from all co-channel interferers at the relay. The relay selection is based only on the instantaneous signal to interference ratio from the first hop. We provide an exact closed-form expression for the outage probability of the observed system. The numerical results obtained by the analytical approach are verified by Monte-Carlo simulations. The presented results are the part of a PhD thesis.","PeriodicalId":121560,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st Telecommunications Forum Telfor (TELFOR)","volume":"203 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114971134","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Compressive sensing assumes that a signal which is sparse in certain transform domain can be randomly sampled in another (dense) domain, taking lower number of samples than required by the sampling theorem. Then, using the optimization algorithms, the entire signal information can be recovered. In our case, instead of using ℓ1-based methods or approximate greedy solutions, we propose a simple algorithm based on the analysis of noisy-effects that appear in the sparsity domain as a consequence of missing samples. The theory is proven on the examples.","PeriodicalId":121560,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st Telecommunications Forum Telfor (TELFOR)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125399676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
