The accessible forest area by forest roads is determined by the bounded area around forest roads. Today, in the area with steep and variable slopes of terrain, a double targeted geometrical extraction distance of timber is used for the width of the bounded area around forest roads, and the forest road spacing is used in the area with a mild and uniform slope of the terrain. Both parameters depend on the targeted density of forest roads. Modern information technologies (IT) like geographical information systems (GIS) enable the quality spatial and statistical analysis of different kinds of data whose result is not accessible forest areas by current primary forest traffic infrastructure only, but also an insight into the spatial distribution of insufficient accessible areas into the forest area. The spatial distribution of these areas is significant for spatial distribution of the new routes of forest roads. The research is done in the area of Forest Management Unit (FMU) Prosara, for which the spatial analysis of a digital terrain model (DTM) determined the mostly hilly relief area. The average relative forest accessibility, based on double targeted geometrical extraction distance of timber, is 35% for the actual network of forest roads, and targeted forest road spacing is 60% for the upgraded network of forest roads.","PeriodicalId":121145,"journal":{"name":"ГЛАСНИК ШУМАРСКОГ ФАКУЛТЕТА УНИВЕРЗИТЕТА У БАЊОЈ ЛУЦИ","volume":"182 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122073618","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An experimental plantation was established in April 2020 with standard hardwood cuttings on 0.2 ha of nursery land along the Danube River in Central Northern Bulgaria. Principal leaf gas exchange parameters were measured. Diameter increment, height growth and increment, and normalized difference vegetation index were monitored on representative samples of plants. The influence of the genotype was analyzed, and correlations with main climate parameters were sought. The willow clone showed early increment culmination and a sharp decline in growth and viability with the suspension of watering. It had the lowest net photosynthetic rate (8.312 ± 0.107 μmol (CO2)·m-2·s-1), low biomass growth (0.098 ± 0.01 kg DM) and a high survival rate. Unlike the other poplar genotypes, ‘I-214’ showed rapid growth at the beginning of the summer, a high transpiration rate (1.222 ± 0.034 mmol (H2O)·m-2·s-1) and a stronger dependence on moisture. Clones ‘AF-8’ and ‘AF-18’ had high photosynthetic (10.238 ± 0.231 and 11.480 ± 0.193 μmol (CO2)·m-2·s-1, respectively) and low transpiration (0.672 ± 0.024 and 0.682 ± 0.015 mmol (H2O)·m-2·s-1, respectively) rates, and their growth was positively affected by the temperatures. The water use efficiency of the poplar biomass clones was the highest. ‘AF-8’ genotype showed the best diameter and biomass (0.194 ± 0.036 kg DM per plant) growth, while the ‘AF-18’ genotype grew best in height.","PeriodicalId":121145,"journal":{"name":"ГЛАСНИК ШУМАРСКОГ ФАКУЛТЕТА УНИВЕРЗИТЕТА У БАЊОЈ ЛУЦИ","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125799518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This community originated from artificially forested mixed stands of fir and spruce planted in the habitat of the mountain Dinaric fir-beech forest, over a hundred years ago. With regular selective cuttings and natural regeneration, the structure shifted from even-aged to uneven-aged. In total, 18 phytocoenological relevés were made using the Braun-Blanquet method during the vegetation seasons of 2021 and 2022. Relevés were stored in Turboveg database. Ecological factors were calculated based on Ellenberg bioindicator values. Species composition was analyzed in terms of life form, geoelements and chorotypes. Our analysis indicates that collected relevés can be classified as the association Galio rotundifolii- Abietetum albae belonging to the alliance Fagion sylvaticae.","PeriodicalId":121145,"journal":{"name":"ГЛАСНИК ШУМАРСКОГ ФАКУЛТЕТА УНИВЕРЗИТЕТА У БАЊОЈ ЛУЦИ","volume":"48 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114525871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent studies indicate that natural ecosystems are frequently unable to adequately and efficiently provide the flow of ecosystem services or nature’s contribution to people (i.e. NCP), emphasising that this negative trend will continue in the future. These trends can be linked with the existence of drivers or pressures on nature, which are numerous and have an increasing trend over time. Pressures on nature are all changes and disturbances in the functioning of biological processes and systems, followed by disruption of the ecosystem structure and the integration of the living world. In order to prevent the loss of biodiversity and ensure NCP, it is important to recognize and understand direct and indirect pressures on nature. In this sense, this paper presents the spatial distribution, intensity, trends and drivers of individual categories of pressures on nature in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as their combined effect. The presentation of pressures on nature is based on 16 broadly recognizable groups of ecosystems that include broad natural units (e.g. high mountain complexes), or a complex of ecological factors (e.g. dry and rocky meadows and pastures), the dominant type of use (e.g. agricultural areas) or the dominant type of pressures (e.g. urban areas) (Figures 2 and 3, Table 1). For the purposes of assessing the intensity of certain categories of pressures (direct and indirect) and their trends per ecosystem groups, an expert assessment procedure was carried out, using a structured research instrument, that enabled the analysis of experts’ views when it comes to the intensity and trend of certain categories of pressures for each ecosystem group (Tables 2 and 3). The results of this research indicate that the urban ecosystems, running water ecosystems and agricultural ecosystems are under the highest pressure, while the lowest pressures are associated with the underground and canyon ecosystems (Figures 4–13, 16). Direct pressures are generally rated as more intense than indirect pressures (Figures 14 and 15). For the majority of analysed direct and indirect pressures, similar effects and trends are confirmed as at the global level. According to the opinion of the experts, who participated in this research, overuse and pollution were assessed as the highest direct pressures on nature in Bosnia and Herzegovina, while institutional pressure was recognised as the highest indirect pressure. Keeping in mind that, according to their characteristics, institutional pressures are inseparable from the state authority and its institutions while, in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they are inevitably linked to the socio-political organization and numerous criticisms of the (non)functionin","PeriodicalId":121145,"journal":{"name":"ГЛАСНИК ШУМАРСКОГ ФАКУЛТЕТА УНИВЕРЗИТЕТА У БАЊОЈ ЛУЦИ","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131897785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After the detailed sampling, isolation and identification of the fungus using both classical and molecular methods, the current distribution and host range were determined. This fungus was recorded at 17 additional localities in the central part of Serbia, and Q. cerris was the most common and most affected host. Further, huge damages were occasionally recorded at Q. petraea, particularly when growing in mixed stands with Q. cerris. In addition, Q. frainetto and Fagus sylvatica were confirmed as new hosts of this pathogen in Serbia. Implications of these findings and potential control measures were discussed.","PeriodicalId":121145,"journal":{"name":"ГЛАСНИК ШУМАРСКОГ ФАКУЛТЕТА УНИВЕРЗИТЕТА У БАЊОЈ ЛУЦИ","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115334782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
