These platforms are known as institutional or digital repositories. However, an examination of most repositories shows that academic staffs in some faculties have deposited more research findings than other faculties. Therefore, this study sought to establish the perception of academic staff towards knowledge sharing through institutional repositories in selected public and private universities. The study utilized the Knowledge-Sharing model by Cheng et.al. developed in 2009. The research method adopted was the descriptive research design. The study location for the research included the University of Embu and St Paul’s University. The target population in the selected universities was 75. The sample size was 59 as determined by Krejcie and Morgan scales. The questionnaire was the main tool for collecting data. Qualitative data was analyzed thematically while Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics presented through percentages, frequencies, pie charts, tables and graphs. Logistical and ethical considerations were strictly adhered to. The study findings were as follows: the academic staffs have a positive perception towards KS, self-archiving is yet to be embraced by a significant number of academic staff. The evolution of Information technology in academic libraries has presented change in users’ views, demands, alterations in library services and changes in library staff functions. Academic Libraries have adopted and embraced various social media tools. However, there seems to be no clear picture on how exactly the social media technologies are being used by staff in the library for academic library services. This study was on utilization of social media platforms in improving uptake of academic library services in selected universities in Kenya. The study was basically narrowed to selected public university libraries in Kitui and Muranga Counties. The study aimed at achieving examining the factors influencing the use of social media in improving the uptake of academic library services. The study adopted Technology Acceptance Model as its conceptual framework. Descriptive research design was adopted, applying qualitative and quantitative methods. The target population comprised of two selected public university libraries in Kitui and Muranga Counties. The total sample size was 17 Librarians inclusive of the Chief University Librarians while total sample size for postgraduate students was 400. Literature was reviewed based on the objectives of the study. Semi-structured questionnaires were tools used for collection of data. Pilot study was carried out at Kenyatta university Kitui campus library which had similar characteristics to the libraries where the research was done to determine the reliability and validity of data collection tools. From the analysis of the collected data, the study established seventeen (17) different types of social media platforms that are currently being used to enhance uptake of the academic libraries’ services. Facebook and YouTube were the most outstanding of the platforms. Therefore, sound management of records contributes towards effectiveness and efficiency in delivery of public services. This also improves the quantity of information available for enhancing the level of accountability. Hence, this study was an assessment of archives management and service delivery with reference to Kenya National Archives and documentation services. The study specifically focused on; examining the effect of Professional archival management establishing the barriers, and assessing the effect of process control, on service delivery at the Kenya national archives and documentation services. The significance of the study would benefit the government for planning purposes to meet her vision 2030 goals in Service quality delivery. The design to be adopted by this inquiry was the case study which took quantitative approach. The sample of the inquiry covered five record management staff, 12 staff in top management levels, 28 action officers, 36 staff at clerical level and 19 staff from registry department. The key tool for gathering the views of the participants were the questionnaire alongside the interview guides. Prior to gathering of the information, the questionnaire was tested to ensure it was valid and reliable enough. The process of the information gathered was done with aid of content analysis for the open ended responses. For the responses in their quantitative form, frequencies, correlation and regression analysis was embraced. The study found that archival service professionals, archival service process control, user perception and barriers had a positive significant influence on service delivery with reference Kenya national archives and documentation services. The study concluded that the archival service professionals provide important benefits and services, such as organizing and maintaining the documentary record of institutions, groups, and individuals. Archival service process control provides user a greater control over their electronic records, easy to locate documents via keywords or a barcode, the documents are held on secure premises and only authorized personnel have access to them. Users had a negative attitude towards the adoption of digital records management and the extent to which they were willing to adopt digital records management was low and the barriers included poor pay for Kenyan civil servants has resulted in poor performance in terms of service delivery. The study recommended that the organization should provide support from the management staff by enabling them to understand both tangible and non-tangible benefits of records. The study was ground upon access, capacity and environment framework and adopted a descriptive research design. The target population was 91 MCAs, 3 library staff and the clerk of the county assembly whereas the sample size was 77 respondents. Simple random sampling technique was used to select MCAs whereas purposive sampling was used to select the library staff and the clerk of the county assembly. Questionnaire were used for data collection from the MCAs and the library staff. Interview technique was used to collect data from the clerk of the county assembly. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics with the aid of Statistical Package for Social Sciences and presented graphically and in tabular form. Qualitative data was analyzed thematically and presented through narrations. The findings established that while the general perception of the MCAs towards library services and resources at Kakamega County Assembly (KCA) was not favorable, they acknowledged the importance of the library. The study recommended that KCA should ensure all services are centrally provided within the same precincts for ease of MCAs to patronize library resources and services. The study also recommended that KCA should engage in rigorous marketing strategies for library services including but not limited to opportunistic approach, presentations, library tours, producing a leaflet or a guide about services in the library and induction programme for new MCAs. Lastly, the study recommend that KCA should consider rolling out remote access services to facilitate the technologically savvy MCAs to patronize library resources and services without necessarily being physically present in the library. This study contributes to the body of knowledge particularly in as far legislative libraries in the county assemblies in Kenya is concerned. This difficulty could be due to the outbreak of COVID-19, which has completely shut down the hotel industry. The main aim of this research was to investigate the impact of knowledge management on the efficiency of hospitality service delivery in a five-star hotel in Naivasha, Nakuru County. The specific purpose was to determine how information generation, knowledge exchange, knowledge application, and knowledge storage affect the hotel industry's service delivery efficiency. This research was based on the theory of knowledge-based view. This study used a descriptive research design and collect primary data using a semi-structured questionnaire. This study will target 250 management staff of 13 five-star hotels in Naivasha. The sample size of 154 respondents was selected by stratified random selection. To explain the data's properties, descriptive statistics was used in the analysis. Correlation and regression analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between the research variables. Tables and graphs were used to present the findings. The findings indicated that knowledge creation and efficiency of service delivery were positively and significantly related (β=0.340, p<0.05).  Further results showed that knowledge sharing and efficiency of service delivery were positively and significantly related (β=0.297, p<0.05).  In addition, results showed that knowledge application and efficiency of service delivery were positively and significantly related (β=0.197, p<0.05). Further results showed that knowledge storage and efficiency of service delivery were positively and significantly related (β=0.143, p<0.05). The study concluded that creating opportunities for capacity building enhances service delivery in the hotels. Further, sourcing out knowledge from external sources helps in knowledge creation which enhances service delivery. The study also concluded that utilization of institutional knowledge as well as having a knowledge sharing policy in the hotels aids in improving service delivery in the hotel. The study also concluded that storage of information through documentation, record keeping, classifying information and training enhances service delivery. The study further recommends that hotels should utilize knowledge to enhance efficiency of service delivery through development of knowledge creation policies and to encourage employees to utilize the knowledge gained on service delivery to develop new innovations and come up with new products and services. It is important for policy makers in five star hotels to develop robust and dedicated knowledge management capabilities. This is because knowledge management leads to growth and expansion of hotels internationally and subsequently improve the service delivery. It is evident that service delivery problems within the department have been problem for most policymakers which resulted in the launch of the National Lands Management Information System geared towards improving service delivery. There have however been minimal research efforts to determine how the systems has affected the ministry hence this study sought to examine the effect of digitization of land records management system on service delivery. The records continuum theory and the technology acceptance model formed the basis of this study. A descriptive approach was employed, and the population targeted of staff at the Ministry of Lands main registry at Ardhi House. The study sampled 154 officials within the headquarters at the Ministry of Lands who are involved in the lands records management system. Primary data was sourced using structured questionnaires developed under the guidance of the study objectives. Google forms supplemented the physical data to enhance the response rate. A pretesting was caried out on 10% of the sample participants to determine the research instruments’ validity and reliability. Data analysis focused both descriptive and inferential analysis. Findings were presented using charts and tables. The findings of the correlation tests established there is a strong positive and significant relation between digitization of land records (r = .806**, sig = .000<.05) and the service delivery at the Ministry of Lands in Kenya. This implies that a unit change in these variables will result in a unit change in the service delivery. The implementation of land records management system provides a technique and method for land planning, management quantification and rationalization together with quick inquiry, analysis and innovation of land information, provides supplementary support for decision making and improves the traditional land management system through computer technologies and communications network. The study recommended that the Ministry should put up appropriate training programs to keep its employees updated with the current job requirements and training should be geared to all employees regardless of their gender and job category. The study recommended that during the implementation of the land records management system, security should be of the paramount consideration while developing software and processing data and the need of security policies has to be clearly told to all the employees working in the Ministry and they should be directed to adhere to these policies. The study also recommended that an Integrated Land Information Management System should be properly implemented. Appropriate information is required in all sectors of the economy. But it is important to note that there is too much information available that if one is not careful, they can be misled and make wrong decisions. Therefore, information literacy or having the skills that will enable one to seek and access the right information is necessary.  Knowing the information one needs and how to look for it is very crucial for everyday life. The way one seeks information is known as information behaviour. Having the correct information seeking behaviour will help the user to find the required information they seek. Small Scale farmers require variety of information to assist them in their endeavors. Therefore it is important for these farmers to have appropriate literacy levels and exhibit appropriate information seeking behaviour. This study sought to assess the literacy levels of small-scale farmers in Kabaa location, Mwala Sub-County, Kenya. The study objective was to establish the literacy levels of Kabaa small scale poultry farmers. The target population was 86 farmers and 2 livestock officers. Data was collected from all 86 farmers and 2 livestock officers. A pilot study was carried out at the neighboring sub-county which is Yatta sub-county since they are both semi- arid and their agricultural activities are similar. A questionnaire and an interview schedule were used as data collection instruments. The findings were analysed using statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) version 27(2020) and presented using tables, charts and graphs. As such, Open Education Resources (OER) have been championed as suitable alternative to complement educational resources in learning institutions with relevant, quality and up-to-date teaching/learning materials at little or no cost. Despite the increase in volumes provided freely under the Creative Common licenses, studies have shown that uptake of OER has remained low among students in Kenyan universities. This study therefore, assessed OER use by postgraduate students in three universities which are Nairobi University, Kenyatta University and Moi University. The study was guided by four objectives; to determine the level of OER awareness among postgraduate students, to determine the accessibility of OER by postgraduate students, to determine availability of ICT infrastructure which support utilization of OER and the promotion strategies employed by librarians to enhance awareness of OER among postgraduate students. The study employed descriptive survey design approach. Random sampling method was used to obtain requisite number of respondents. The target population was the 34,445 postgraduate students and university librarians in the selected libraries in public universities in Kenya. Data obtained was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The study concluded that OER awareness significantly contributed to OER utilization by postgraduate students. The findings also concluded that OER accessibility enhanced OER utilization. In addition, ICT infrastructure was critical in supporting OER resources while promotional strategies that include lecturers influence, policies and guidelines, training, workshop and OER sensitizations contributed to OER adoption. The study recommended that academic libraries need to develop OER policies to guide on utilization of OER. The success of such libraries would be judged by their ability to achieve the mentioned objectives. However, this could only be possible if the librarians were fully supported by the County Assembly management and provided with the necessary conducive environment to deliver. The purpose of this study therefore, was to establish challenges faced by librarians in their endeavor to provide information resources and services. The study was conducted in Siaya and Kericho County Assembly Libraries both located in County Assembly Premises of respective towns. The pilot study was done in Kisumu County Assembly Library and purposive sampling was used for the study. The two libraries were selected because combination of staff in both would make enough target population. Exploratory research design was used. Data was collected using Questionnaires with a sample size of 162. Qualitative data was collected, analysed and summarized thematically giving a narrative conclusion. Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 27 was used to summarize, code and analyze quantitative data according to the objectives of the study. Data collected was analyzed, discussed and inferences made to come up with a report. The findings indicated that the two County Assembly libraries have qualified librarians who manage them. However, the librarians faced some challenges which hampered their performance thus inability to achieve their objectives. The findings further indicated that, there was serious lack of involvement in organization’s policy making, existence of politics within the management, inadequate budget allocations, lack of resource and services for users with special needs, failure to construct a purpose-built library and inadequate consideration of beliefs, lifestyles and status of users when providing information resources and services. The study recommended that the management ensures involvement of all libraries and other departments in policy making to ensure that their needs are catered for, organizational politics to be completely avoided to ensure smooth implementation of set objectives. Adequate budget allocation to the library is also recommended that a purpose-built library be constructed to accommodate all categories of users. It is a World Health Organization (WHO) requirement to have pregnant women access obstetric ultrasound screening before 24 weeks gestation. This led to Amref International University piloting a business model that can make point of care obstetric ultrasound screening (POCUS) affordable and sustainable. One-year post intervention, an evaluation survey got conducted in the project sites in two pilot counties in Kenya (Kajiado and Kisii counties) to establish the viability of the entrepreneurship driven implementation of POCUS. Two stage cluster sampling was employed with mixed methods of data collection. A sample of 33 Midwives and 196 women of reproductive age from the pilot sites participated in the evaluation. The survey findings were that midst the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 1250 pregnant women were screened in one year at a fee of USD 5 per scan. Among those interviewed, 168 (85.7%) of the women confirmed the service was affordable and easily accessible. It emerged that 85 (43.4%) of the respondents were screened by midwives in local health centres. Notably,180 (91%) of the women interviewed recommended scaling up of the service and 32 (96%) of the midwives reported that the continuous coaching from radiographers enhanced skills acquisition. Despite the marginal negative net present value of cash flows, the impact generated by the project was of high significance. The conclusion drawn was that the business model is viable from implementation perspective since it demonstrated the potential to reach a Break-Even Point (BEP) at a modest of 1833 ultrasound scans per year. The project has potential for further buy-in by Primary health care professionals having accorded them a gross margin of 60% with a probable increase to 80% in subsequent years. Further, Obstetric Ultrasound screening services can be provided sustainably at low cost by trained Primary Health Care Workers (PHCWs).
