Directly using microstructural or texture features instead of artificial speckle marks, an algorithm routine of DIC deformation measurement was programmed with MATLAB. The deformation analysis program was firstly tested with simulative speckle images, then the whole scheme of DIC deformation measurement was on trial through an indentation test in which porcine femur was chosen as the specimen. The simulation and test results show that the author developed program is feasible, in which the microstructural features of cancellous bone are used for feature point matching. Such scheme can also be applied to deformation measurements of other porous materials which have similar microstructures to cancellous bone.","PeriodicalId":119361,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics (BMEI)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125187103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All patients underwent baseline urodynamic studies for comparison. The results demonstrated that, despite no significant difference in urodynamic parameters between Group 1 and Group 2, the large-scale MSE of preoperative EMG [i.e., MSELS(EMG)] and small-scale MSE of preoperative EMG [i.e., MSESS(EMG)] of Group 1 were notably higher than those of Group 2 (i.e., patients with abnormal sphincter function). In conclusion, using MSE analysis for assessing preoperative urethral sphincter EMG signals successfully distinguished the subtle functional impairment of urethral sphincter unable to be detected by routine urodynamic studies.","PeriodicalId":119361,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics (BMEI)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126734349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the number of infected reaches the critical value, the effect of media coverage will appear. The existence and the stability of endemic equilibriums and sliding equilibrium depend on the critical value. With different critical values, the sliding mode area is changing and the model solutions will tend to the endemic equilibrium or sliding equilibrium. The result of the paper shows that if the critical value is selected and the parameters are proper, the final number of infected will be stable in the critical value chosen previously.","PeriodicalId":119361,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics (BMEI)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116247003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different from existing readers for qualitative test, the developed reader is able to perform quantitative test with a line-shaped excitation beam to obtain the distribution of fluorescence signal intensity along the lateral flow strip. To reduce system complexity, a custom Y-shaped optical fiber, instead of one set of optical lenses, was adopted to couple the excitation and emission channels. A high power Light Emitting Diode (LED) with a specific wavelength interfaced with one of the two split ends of the optical fiber for excitation, while a highly sensitive photodiode with the other split end for detection. A linear stage with high resolution, which was driven by a step motor, was incorporated to facilitate strip scanning. Considering the inhomogeneous nature of lateral flow immunoassay, an optimized global searching algorithm was developed to identify test and control peaks and their boundaries, which further improves reader's sensitivity and specificity. Finally, a calibration model was built into the reader to report the concentration of the test sample. As an example, quantitative CRP (C - reactive protein) test was performed on this reader achieving a reasonable clinical diagnostics range from 1 μg/mL to 200 μg/mL. With its machine reading function, simplicity and relatively low cost, the optical reader could play an important role in POCT.","PeriodicalId":119361,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics (BMEI)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114421273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In view of the insufficiency of traditional GEP, this paper puts forward an improved gene expression programming algorithm based on hybrid strategy (HSI-GEP). This paper has two improvements: (1) using mirror and reset mechanism to replace the inferior individuals of population, to improve the quality and the diversity of population; (2) introducing the clonal selection before tournament selection in order to improve the mining ability of algorithm about the superior individuals. The experiments compared with the improved GEP from authoritative literatures about function finding problems have been carried on, and the results show that HSI-GEP is of high quality, has fast convergence rate and obvious competitiveness.","PeriodicalId":119361,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics (BMEI)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129169706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the improvement of hyperspectral imaging instrumentation, hyperspectral data analysis techniques are getting more attention. However, desired analysis and results depend strongly on the quality of image preprocessing. In this paper, we obtained hyperspectral images through an Acousto-Optic Tunable Filter (AOTF) based molecular hyperspectral imaging (MHI) system. Then the Lambert-Beer law based pre-processing method was presented to calibrate molecular hyperspectral images. This method combines the advantages of spectral correction and spatial denoising. We applied K-Means classification algorithm and IsoData classification algorithm to the preprocessed blood cell images and the experimental results prove the performance of the preprocessing method which is useful for the further classification.","PeriodicalId":119361,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics (BMEI)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123403670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Breast cancer has threatened female health seriously. As one of the main symptoms of breast cancer, mass detection is of paramount importance in computer-aided detection (CAD) systems. Breast mass detection has been widely applied to assist radiologists in locating abnormalities on mammograms. This paper presents a novel mass detection system for digital mammograms which can deal with various kinds of masses. A sliding window scheme is utilized to scan the breast area segmented from the whole mammogram. For every current window, Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) is extracted and fed to a supervised algorithm, Kernel-Based Supervised Hashing (KSH), to obtain the corresponding compact binary code. In consideration of efficiency and accuracy, we propose a specific decision rule to classify the current window in hamming space. In order to label the detected mass region more accurately, a flexible sliding window fusion algorithm is proposed. Large scale experiments on Digital Database for Screening Mammography (DDSM) demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed detection scheme.","PeriodicalId":119361,"journal":{"name":"2015 8th International Conference on Biomedical Engineering and Informatics (BMEI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114690778","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Software testing has become an indispensable part in software's life circle and people are paying more attention to the software. The static analysis is a code analysis technology, which is opposite to the dynamic analysis. The former can detect the latent defects and the security vulnerabilities inside of software and is developing rapidly during the last years. This thesis is based on the C language as the research object, and focuses on generating intermediate files with compiler front-end. This thesis first introduces the principle of C preprocessor and the way of getting the redundant type of the intermediate files based on the file structure after the preprocessing. With the rational analysis, the redundant code in the intermediate files will be removed, and the simplification of the intermediate files are designed and realized, in order to increase the static analysis efficiency. Finally, we based on the software, defect detecting DTS (Defect Testing System) 1. We implement the file simplification module.
