Abstract

For porous materials such as cancellous bones, a digital image correlation (DIC) method was used in the deformation measurement. Directly using microstructural or texture features instead of artificial speckle marks, an algorithm routine of DIC deformation measurement was programmed with MATLAB. The deformation analysis program was firstly tested with simulative speckle images, then the whole scheme of DIC deformation measurement was on trial through an indentation test in which porcine femur was chosen as the specimen.
