The SOG film was deposited at a temperature of 200°C, which is compatible to use on flexible substrates. The optical and electrical characterization showed that the refractive index and dielectric constant are very close to those of thermally grown SiO2. We demonstrated the use of SOG as gate insulator, fabricating and characterizing a-SiGe: H TFTs.","PeriodicalId":119218,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Electronics, Robotics and Automotive Mechanics Conference","volume":"143 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115177311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the lack of advantages obtained from the last generation high level programming languages, the growth of WSNs is significantly impeded. Programming WSN nodes requires knowledge of specific hardware which depends on the WSN architecture. A method to provide the benefits of high level languages is to use a hardware abstraction layer. The reconfiguration is treated as an optimization problem of combinatory nature, where the aim is to obtain a configuration with minimal power losses, iterations and also with some distribution system restrictions. The initial population of the GA is obtained using spanning trees techniques (ST). Further, efficient operators for crossing and mutation are used to explore the search space. Each individual aptitude is evaluated by means of a power flows program. The developed algorithm is applied to a distribution system reconfiguration, obtaining satisfactory results.","PeriodicalId":119218,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Electronics, Robotics and Automotive Mechanics Conference","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124159991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed ECM calculates the instantaneous voltage drop in a cathode sheath and the temperature distribution inside the cathode using as input parameter the cathode geometry and the positive column current. The model is based on the electrode heat transport equation, solved using the finite elements method. It is found that the ECM predicts in a satisfactory way the cathode voltage drop over a wide range of work conditions. The obtained results were compared with those reported in the current literature. It can be concluded that the ECM is a useful tool in understanding the interaction between the positive column and the cathode in order to improve, for instance, HPS lamp ballast designs.","PeriodicalId":119218,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Electronics, Robotics and Automotive Mechanics Conference","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129284759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to obtain the optimum parameters of the classifying mechanism, we use a data set, obtained from the US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The set consists of limited financial institutions’ data, presented as variables widely used to detect bank failure. The outcome is a set of comprehensible decision rules, which allows to identify cases of bankruptcy. Further, the reliability of those rules is measured in terms of the true and false positive rate, calculated over the whole data set and plot over the Receiving Operating Characteristic (ROC) space. In order to test the accuracy performance of the mechanism, we elaborate two experiments: the first, aimed to test the degree of the variables’ usefulness, provides a quantitative and a qualitative analysis. The second experiment completed over 1000 different re-sampled cases is used to measure the performance of the approach. To our knowledge this is the first computational technique in this field able to give useful insights of the method’s predictive structure. The main contributions of this work are three: first, we want to bring to the arena of bankruptcy prediction a competitive novel method which in pure performance terms is comparable to state of the art methods recently proposed in similar works, second, this method provides the additional advantage of transparency as the generated rules are fully interpretable in terms of simple financial ratios, third and final, the proposed method includes cutting edge techniques to handle highly unbalanced samples, something that is very common in bankruptcy applications.","PeriodicalId":119218,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE Electronics, Robotics and Automotive Mechanics Conference","volume":"39 11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-09-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133219092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
