Therefore, creating new and upgrading existing infrastructure will be critical to improve India’s global competitiveness. Nevertheless, financing infrastructure projects continues to remain the most difficult aspect to tackle with. The National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) envisages investing Rs. 100 trillion on infrastructure projects across various States during the five years up to 2025. The Government of India has recently launched a four-year National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) worth an estimated Rs. 6 trillion, with an aim to unlock value of hitherto unutilized or underutilized public assets in the brownfield projects by engaging the private sector and to tap the operational efficiencies of private sector along with the management of existing physical infrastructure. In addition, this paper provides various perspectives on the asset monetization and its sustainability as a robust infrastructure financing tool.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132055163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research attempts to investigate the relationship and influence of FII on the National Stock Exchange’s sectoral market indexes. To check the stationarity of the series ADF is used while regression is used to find out the impact of FIIs on the sectors of NSE. To measure the causality between the two, Granger causality test is applied. A comparative analysis of monthly and quarterly data has been done from 2006 to 2020. The paper concluded that FIIs is having significant relationship with sectoral indices. The Granger causality test found that FIIs have unidirectional causality relationship with energy, financial services, Infrastructure and MNC and no causal relationship with Bank, India consumption, Metal, PSE, and service sector using quarterly data.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131855157","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study attempts to explore the application of the balanced scorecard to assess and differentiate the performance of select Indian public and private banks. To achieve these objectives, banks’ performance is measured on the identified twenty financial and non-financial key performance indicators and has been assigned scores based on performance scales. Further, statistical tools are exerted to test the hypotheses of this study. The t-test reveals the operation of public and private banks is significantly different given customer perspectives among all perspectives of the Balanced Scorecard approach over the period. This research concludes that Indian commercial banks’ performance from a financial perspective is good and needs to improve the performance of the banks related to the innovation and growth perspective of the balanced scorecard.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121686807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aims to knowhow heuristic biases impact the individual investor’s investment decision who invested in the financial market. Also, attempt to check wheatear risk perception mediates the relationship. Cross-sectional research was done by adopting a structured and close-ended questionnaire survey method by obtaining data from 484 individual investors investing in the financial market. The study provides empirical insight into the relationship between second-order heuristic biases of the individual investor and irrational investment decision-making and checks the mediating role of risk perception. The results show the significant positive impact of heuristic bias on the irrational investment decision-making of individual investors. Risk perception partially mediates the relationship. The findings of this study encourage individual investors to understand and identify their biases or sentiments. This study will help create investors’ awareness to decide on their financial capacity after assessing all available alternatives.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131723747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Applying the same logic to Indian Derivative market, the present paper makes an effort to examine the market efficiency of index futures. The study has undertaken tests of market efficiency of Nifty Index Futures contract from 1st January, 2018 to 1st January, 2021 Random walk theory is tried to be tested in this context and Ljung- Box test is applied to check the fluctuations in future contract prices. The background thought is kept like if market is inefficient at its weak-form that leads to the proof that market does have memory and future prices do not stick to random walk. Findings of the study reveals that past prices of future contracts cannot be used as base to forecast the terminal prices and abnormal profit can be made as they are random in nature.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"151 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115167327","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In private banks, retail customer’s experience with various banking services, which will highly influence the customer outcomes like brand equity, WOM, Satisfaction. Traditionally various studies tested this hypothesis in an independent manner, in presence of relationship quality and trust. In the present study, along with the direct effect between customer experience and customer outcome, indirect effect is also measured by considering relationship quality and customer trust as mediating constructs. The test results proved that the two mediators had partial mediation effect in the model. For the study, sample respondents have been chosen from twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The results of the study indicating that bankers can adopt key strategies to overcome the threat caused by negative face of customer experience.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132168515","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, they vary among companies due to the inherent risk in generating returns. This paper explores the factors that determine the level of R&D investments in a panel data of 368 Indian listed companies over eleven years from 2011 to 2021, and examines the immediate as well as lagged effect of R&D intensity on firm performance using a dynamic GMM estimator. The results found a positive impact of firm’s age on its R&D intensity but the firm’s size and its debt ratio are the negative determinants of R&D investments. The findings show a higher level of R&D investments as a potential source of insecurity among investors; evident by positive impact of R&D intensity on firm’s current financial performance (ROE) and negative impact on its market value (Tobin’s Q). Based on the evidence obtained in the context of developing countries, the study provides useful implications for facilitating R&D investments in emerging markets.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"177 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114609674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Financial data for the purpose have been collected from the secondary sources for five years starting from 2016 to 2020 on the 30 small-scale industries, out of which 15 each from the service and manufacturing sector. By using the panel fixed and random effect regression models, the findings of the study confirm that human resource accounting is a very important element of management in the small-scale industries as it has a direct impact on the financial performance measured in terms of ROA and ROCE. Though, the type of business has a strong bearing on the profitability, dependency of any organisation on its human capital cannot be ignored. Therefore, it is recommended that smallscale industries can improve their human capital with proper implementation of human resource accounting where every aspect of cost and benefits associated with human resource should be identified, recorded and reviewed to ensure better performance.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127472788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An increase in investment in infrastructure opens-up employment opportunities because of its backward and forward linkages. The changing demographics and environment will need the converged development of various infrastructure facilities in India. The government has promoted railways, roadways, ports, and civil aviation in recent decades, as evident from policy and programs. Even with the accelerated growth in infra projects in India, most of the infrastructure projects are delayed, primarily owing to regulatory approvals, land acquisition issues, shortage of skilled resources, ineffective dispute resolution mechanisms, and geological challenges. This paper highlights the prospects and progress of infrastructure projects along with issues and challenges.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123131656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Application of One-way ANOVA for the sixyear time period, i.e. from 2014-15 and 2019-20, has reported that CSR disclosure of all industrial sectors does vary and such differences in CSR scores are highly apparent in small firms with one sector reported significantly higher disclosure than the other. In fact, such sectoral CSR dissimilarities have been gauged size-wise as well in the contextual spheres of environmental, community development, and employee relations categories, for example, CSR disclosure of power and electricity generation is significantly greater than that of minerals, metals & mining in case of environment and sustainability dimension. Overall, small companies need to put greater focus on carrying out and reporting of CSR activities keeping in mind the expectations of all stakeholders.","PeriodicalId":119023,"journal":{"name":"Orissa Journal of Commerce","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115831980","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
