Toward this end, we first establish the convex and compact properties of the feasible sets, and demonstrate the existence of the optimal input distribution and the uniqueness of the optimal effective magnitude input distribution. By exploiting the solutions of a quadratic optimization problem, we show that the Kuhn-Tucker condition (KTC) on the optimal inputs can be simplified to a single dimension. As a result, we can apply the Identity Theorem to show the discrete and finite nature of the optimal effective magnitude distribution. By using this distribution, we then construct a finite and discrete optimal input vector distribution. The use of this input allows us to determine precisely the capacity gain of MISO over SISO via the phase solutions of a non-convex constrained quadratic optimization problem on a sphere. These phase solutions can be calculated effectively via a proposed penalized optimization algorithm.","PeriodicalId":118716,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Seventh International Conference on Communications and Electronics (ICCE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130458037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

SUs also have different energy saving requirements and data traffic demands. In this paper, a dynamic MAC frame configuration and optimal resource allocation scheme for multi-channel ad-hoc cognitive radio network is proposed. We formulate our dynamic resource allocation model as a constrained optimization problem with multi-objective functions using particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. The proposed PSO scheme guarantees that the allocation captures the individual traffic and energy saving demands and maximizes the objectives functions simultaneously.","PeriodicalId":118716,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Seventh International Conference on Communications and Electronics (ICCE)","volume":"1778 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129567437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Simulations demonstrate a successful exchange of two mode TE0 and TE1 with only 0.38 power loss and small crosstalk of −19 dB within a whole C band. Furthermore, large fabrication tolerance is also an advantage of the device. We believe that the proposed optical mode exchange would be used as an important component to improve the flexibility and efficiency of optical networks using mode-division multiplexing.","PeriodicalId":118716,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Seventh International Conference on Communications and Electronics (ICCE)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127186688","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have been working for the target temporal resolution of nanosecond order. Then, we named the image sensor \"Nano-Second Image Sensor\" or \"NanoSIS\". In the sensor, incident light arrives the sensor on the backside and generates signal electrons. The signals electrons travel to the front side on which five collection gates and a drain gate are placed like petals of a flower of the pixel. At a certain time, the signal electrons are collected by one of the collection gates in turn. The temporal resolution of the sensor is limited by the variation of the travel time of signal electrons. The test sensor is fabricated and under evaluation. The frame rate of 100 Mfps or the temporal resolution of 10 ns is successfully achieved. The sensor can capture 5 consecutive frames with 600 kpixels or 10 consecutive frames with 300 kpixels. The sensor may be applicable to imaging TOF MS (Time-of-Flight mass spectrometry) and/or FLIM (Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy). The paper presents the structure of the sensor and the evaluation results to prove the achieved frame rate.","PeriodicalId":118716,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Seventh International Conference on Communications and Electronics (ICCE)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122479554","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The antenna consists of two linear-polarized dipoles, which are arranged for horizontal and vertical polarizations. The dipole radiators are fed by two orthogonal printed baluns for the high isolation between the two ports. The metasurface, which is a square patch array periodically printed on a thin low-cost substrate, is inserted between the orthogonal dipoles and the reflector to achieve a low-profile and a bandwidth enhancement. The final prototype with an overall size of 160 mm × 160 mm × 15.2 mm (0.96λo × 0.96λo × 0.09λo at 1.8 GHz) yields a voltage standing wave ratio < 2 bandwidth of > 29% for the two ports and an isolation of > 30 dB. In such NFV-based networks, ensuring network performance and cost efficiency is an important challenge to tackle when network traffic is steered through a chain of virtual network functions (VNF). In this work, we consider the dynamics of traffic demand in different time periods, and multipath routing for minimizing the routing cost in NFV. We focus primarily on optimization models and algorithms for finding a traffic steering solution that effectively splits a demand volume into several flows and selects appropriate links and nodes for these flows. We formulate the problem as a mixed linear integer programming model for obtaining an optimal solution taking into account the dynamics of service demand, multipath routing and service function chaining. For the large scale problem, we propose a heuristic algorithm to find an approximation solution. Particularly, our proposed model and algorithm allows a controller to update a link weight system for effectively steering traffic demand to appropriate nodes in a NFV infrastructure. The evaluation results show that our approach to traffic steering significantly improves a number of major performance metrics including the routing cost, the maximum link utilization, and the accepted demands. In addition, the approximation solution is very close to the optimal solution.","PeriodicalId":118716,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Seventh International Conference on Communications and Electronics (ICCE)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128129356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

APs have multiple antennas, while each user has only one antenna. The target is to minimize users’ power consumption under imperfect channel state information (CSI) by optimally allocating the UL transmit power to each user, while maintaining the Quality of Service (QoS) for every user in the network. We investigate also the effect of assigning pilot sequences to the SE performance, when the system analysis is performed under maximum ratio combining. The results are derived by an offline training phase using Rayleigh fading channels. It has been indicated that joint pilot assignment and power allocation have a positive impact on the maximum network QoS value as well as overall power consumption of users in the system.","PeriodicalId":118716,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE Seventh International Conference on Communications and Electronics (ICCE)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134092068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
