The few previous methods proposed to predict price of cryptocurrency are inefficient because they fail to take into consideration the differences in the attributes between real currencies and cryptocurrencies. In this paper, we focus on two cryptocurrencies, namely Bitcoin and Litecoin, each with a large market size and user base, and attempt to predict their future prices using multi-linear regression model.","PeriodicalId":118388,"journal":{"name":"2018 Eleventh International Conference on Contemporary Computing (IC3)","volume":"227 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123256897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Whereas much work has been done to evaluate the non-functional behavior for single parallel programming models such as MPI or OpenMP, little work exists for hybrid programming models such as MPI/OpenMP. This paper proposes the Threshold Oriented Energy Prediction (TOEP) approach which uses the Random Forest Modeling (RFM) to train models for execution time and energy consumption of hybrid MPI/OpenMP programs. Training data (performance measurements) are reduced by ignoring code regions that have little impact on the overall energy consumption and runtime of a program and also based on the variable importance parameter of RFM. A selection parameter is introduced that selects a trade-off solution between the number of modeling points (measurement or training data) required and prediction accuracy. An exploratory study on the proposed prediction approach was employed for a few candidate hybrid applications namely HOMB, CoMD, and AMG2006-Laplace. The experimental results manifested the energy prediction accuracy of over 86.17% for large performance datasets of the candidate applications at a reduced computational effort of less than 17 seconds.","PeriodicalId":118388,"journal":{"name":"2018 Eleventh International Conference on Contemporary Computing (IC3)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127968475","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since, clustering is a NP-hard problem, thus it is difficult to find optimal cluster for large and high dimensional dataset using traditional methods. Therefore, this paper introduces a data clustering method based on data transformation and hybrid step size based cuckoo search method (HSCS). Data transformation method uses PCA and ICA for transformation of data which is further used by HSCS method for clustering. The performance of the proposed method has been tested on the six benchmark datasets taken from UCI repository and compared with cuckoo search, particle swarm optimization, differential evolution, and improved cuckoo search.","PeriodicalId":118388,"journal":{"name":"2018 Eleventh International Conference on Contemporary Computing (IC3)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128589025","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Advancements in the field of information technology, publicly available information and services, somehow help criminals to achieve their misdeeds and involve them in much serious crimes than earlier. As a result, crime rate is increasing with a very high rate in developed and under-developed nations. Based on the previous year (s) crime details in Indian states, we present statistical models viz. Weighted Moving Average, Functional Coefficient Regression and Arithmetic-Geometric Progression based prediction of the crime in coming years. The crime details of Indian states between the years 2001 and 2013 have been used for this purpose. Crime details between 2001 and 2011 have been used for predicting the crimes for the years 2012 and 2013. These predicted values have been compared with actual crime details in the years 2012 and 2013. Difference between actual records and our predicted values for both years gives the accuracy of the proposed approaches between the range 85 % and 90%.","PeriodicalId":118388,"journal":{"name":"2018 Eleventh International Conference on Contemporary Computing (IC3)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129411362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart (CAPTCHA) is one of the main technologies to achieve this. CAPTCHA designers and breakers have always been trying to develop methods to outwit each other. Nowadays, a new class of image based CAPTCHAs are appearing on many sites which have been considered difficult to break. Upto 76% accuracy of breaking these CAPTCHAs has been reported in literature. In this paper, use of inception v3 model trained on ImageNet database has been made to break the image based CAPTCHAs. Experiments on a real CAPTCHA dataset of Facebook demonstrate that the proposed technique can break these CAPTCHA in real time with mean accuracy of more than 91%. Introducing inherent flexibility of CAPTCHA recognition can further improve the results.","PeriodicalId":118388,"journal":{"name":"2018 Eleventh International Conference on Contemporary Computing (IC3)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115187332","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
