Dual Active Bridge (DAB) topology is a serious candidate to be implemented within these converters. In order to increase the power density, the trend is to operate with a higher switching frequency. Thanks to Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) operation, DAB topology allows the switching losses to be reduced. Theoretically, the ZVS operation range depends only on the operating range of the converter. In reality, since the parasitic elements are involved in the soft switching process, the ZVS operation range may be modified. In this paper, the authors propose an analysis of the soft switching process for the case of a SiC MOSFET based DAB converter. For this reason it is necessary to maximize the efficiency almost for the wireless energy transfer (WET) systems, which are rapidly increasing their practical implementation in various application areas. This article deals with the analysis of the most suitable operating point of the serial - serial (SS) compensated WET system, while proper control system is proposed for maintenance the required operational point (simultaneously the highest possible efficiency and the highest power delivery). The article presents circuit solution for control of WET system, whereby main characteristic of proposal is related to the ability of achieving maximal efficiency and maximal power delivery within any mutual distance between transmitter and receiver. The PEBB based on the synchronous resonant quasi-Z-source DC-DC converter (SRqZSC) features galvanic isolation, wide input voltage and load regulation range, and high power conversion efficiency. Thanks to the power circuit versatility, the PEBB can be used as a power electronic interface not only for the power sources with unidirectional power flow (e.g. the photovoltaic panels and fuel cells) but also in the bidirectional applications, such as modular battery storage systems. The paper gives an insight into the SRqZSC technology, explains its general design and control principles and applicability issues in the residential power generation systems. In market areas, remuneration is largely based on market products and prices. In a vertically integrated utility, the benefits are often monetized through cost savings. This paper quantifies the potential benefits of using an energy storage system to provide spinning reserve within the Cordova Electric Cooperative (CEC) grid. The CEC is a small rural electrical cooperative in Cordova, Alaska. Energy storage is being considered to provide spinning reserve. The cost saving is realized through reduced fossil fuel consumption and run time on the diesel generators. In this paper, the cost savings are used to determine the benefit-to-cost ratio for various energy storage configurations. For this reason, a multi-objective optimization algorithm has been developed, and it has been used to design a Synchronous Reluctance Motor with flux barriers rotor, starting from the stator core of a commercial three-phase induction motor of equivalent size. In practice, charge/discharge efficiency of energy storage varies as a function of state-of-charge, temperature, charge/discharge power. Therefore, using the constant-efficiency energy flow models will cause suboptimal results. This work focuses on incorporating nonlinear energy flow models based on nonlinear efficiency models in the revenue maximization problem of energy storage. Dynamic programming is used to solve the optimization problem. Aim of the paper is to provide loadability curves calculated considering various technical limits, namely the thermal limit, the voltage drop limit, the Joule losses limit, and the steady-state stability limit. These curves are evaluated with respect to single circuit 400-kV overhead transmission lines (OHLs) equipped with standard triple-core aluminium conductor steel-reinforced (ACSR) conductor bundles of $pmb{3times 585}mathbf{mm}^{pmb{2}}$ cross section. The paper describes the optimization procedure used to maximize the active power transported at the receiving-end of the line. The optimal level of series compensation is obtained as a result of the optimization problem constrained by all the technical limits listed above. The last part of the paper is devoted to an extensive numerical application that has the aim of demonstrating the feasibility and applicability of the nronosed annroach.
