Gold price prediction in India in 2021 according to the last previous rededication is Rs 60,300. By predicting gold price investors will have an idea about when to buy or sell the commodity. Gold price is directly linked to the country's currency and hence affects the stock price. It is seen that the decrease in stock price increases the gold price. This paper is mainly aiming on the early prediction model using Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) and its variance. The proposed model is compared with the widely used linear regression algorithm. It is observed that the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) value of Linear Regression, Vanilla, and Stacked LSTM is 10.94, 2.649, and 2.5009 respectively. From the values of MAPE it is observed that LSTM has outperformed compared to Linear regression. Hence early prediction of gold price helps investors to invest or sell the gold at the best possible price.","PeriodicalId":117626,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 9th Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (R10-HTC)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132823020","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This architecture incorporates an interacting two-application (two-App) approach. Each Application has unique functionalities and is developed through different processes for rapid prototyping. Application A (the front-end App), which acts as the user interface as well as communication hub for the hardware devices, was developed using the Android Studio. The Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) sensor communicates to the phone via the Near Field Communication (NFC). The insulin pump, on the other hand, communicates through an intermediate device which converts the Bluetooth signal from the phone to Radio Frequency (RF) signal, which can then be received by the pump. The compatibility libraries to establish this communication is in-built into Application A. Application B (the back-end App) which contains the algorithm modules for computing insulin using the advanced model predictive control philosophy, was generated using Simulink and quickly customized using Android Studio with relative ease, details of which are included in this paper. Various functionalities of this novel two-App system architecture was extensively verified and validated as well from in-Silico experiments.","PeriodicalId":117626,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 9th Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (R10-HTC)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124418594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the unforeseen circumstances and changes pertinent to season, demographics, geopolitical, etc., growth in the agricultural sector has been very constrained, thus keeping the majority below the poverty line. Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act or MGNREGA, is an Indian labor law that strives to guarantee the ‘right to work. It is a social security measure with a goal to improve livelihood of the adults in the rural areas by providing at least 100 days of unskilled labor work. However, its efficiency is hampered by the inability to accurately track the work on a regular basis. Absence of third-party contractors may be financially beneficial, but it is causing a growing discontentment within the rural households. This paper summarizes two years of rigorous field work and articulates field experience and challenges with the MGNREGA scheme implementation in Dunda village, located in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, India. The systemic and contextual causes are explored while our stay with the rural community and studied using participatory and user centric methods. This paper presents and proposes a viable solution developed using collaborative approach with the rural workers and village officials in-charge of the scheme's implementation. A wearable smart device to monitor the on-field activity of workers is proposed. A centralized worker report database to record workdays generated by each worker and task details is also proposed. Further, details about task progress and worker compensation can be regulated. It is expected that this sort of activity tracking device will improve the transparency of the process and restore confidence in the MGNREGA scheme at the grassroots.","PeriodicalId":117626,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 9th Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (R10-HTC)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115594290","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the hardest concept students deal with is using the Atlas and maps to understand the Geography, Social Sciences, and History of the world. The current alternative to the Atlas is accessing virtual globes on computers but controlling the globe is done using a mouse or touchscreen. The interaction may turn monotonous with usage. To address this problem, the authors propose a methodology to track a hand using a camera feed of a computer, while further using hand gestures to manipulate a virtual globe. Google's MediaPipe library is employed, along with OpenCV's pose estimation functions that use PnP (Perspective-n-Point) method. Later, an interactive globe environment has been implemented on a web browser using Cesium which can be commanded to perform rotate, pan and zoom on virtual globe and 2D maps as per the user's hand position and gestures. Results regarding the accuracy of the hand tracking system and robustness of control of virtual globe are also reported here.","PeriodicalId":117626,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 9th Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (R10-HTC)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114436724","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inhibitory concentration (IC50) prediction is essential to reduce the cost and labor of a drug's preclinical and clinical trials, because a lot of drug evaluations (cellular, animal, and clinical) can be spared due to the predicted IC50. In the era of Artificial Intelligence, Drug Discovery processes can benefit from deep learning, which has been widely used in computational chemistry and bioinformatics with state-of-the-art performance. In this paper, we propose a novel (in other words, de novo) graph convolutional network approach, cross-validated by traditional methods like Lipinski's rule of five and PaDEL-described one-hot encoding. Privacy and integrity of data becomes the main factor that cannot be compromised on. Therefore, to ensure a highly secured data transmission, we are already familiar with a large number of encryption techniques but they have their own limitations. Where our priority becomes to secure the data from any form of data breach such as cryptanalysis or brute-force attack and this is where the efficiency of an algorithm can be tested. In this paper we propose a Kannada Language Based Hybrid Cryptographic scheme for Protecting Human Rights for Privacy (KHCS-HRP) which uses kannada language for an efficient way of encryption by double proofing the data. In addition to this we will be using a hybrid encryption technique by combining Elliptical curve cryptography, Advanced encryption standard and XOR- DUAL RSA algorithm to overcome the drawbacks of key size in symmetric encryption and low security level when it comes to asymmetric encryption. Furthermore, MD5 hash Algorithm is used to check authentication and integrity of data transfer by using a multilayered hash technique for fast generation of hash code. The performance evaluation of the proposed scheme showed effective results in the efficiency compared to other schemes.","PeriodicalId":117626,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 9th Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (R10-HTC)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125719837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fog computing environment provides the storage and processing of data in a distributed manner based on the locality. Fog servicing is better than cloud service for working with smart devices and users in a same locale. However the fog computing will inherit the features of the cloud, it also suffers from many security issues as cloud. One such security issue is authentication with efficient key management between the communicating entities. In this paper, we propose a secured two-way authentication scheme with efficient management of keys between the user mobile device and smart devices under the control of the fog server. We made use of operations such as one-way hash (SHA-512) functions, bitwise XOR, and fuzzy extractor function to make the authentication system to be better. We have verified the proposed scheme for its security effectiveness by using a well-used analysis tool ProVerif. We also proved that it can resist multiple attacks and the security overhead is reduced in terms of computation and communication cost as compared to the existing methods.","PeriodicalId":117626,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 9th Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (R10-HTC)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122601801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite notable progress, many communities still practice Open Defecation (OD). This paper reports on a 2-year study of a tribal village, in the state of Odisha, India, where the challenge of open defecation (OD) was supervened from a socio-technical aspect. It aimed at understanding the reasons for the prevalence of OD in rural India. It focused on how this challenge could be solved using appropriate technology. The methodology adopted Human Centered Design and Co-Design to directly engage with the local population and gain a first-hand familiarity of their living experience. This project determined that longer commitment using a bottom-up participatory and user-centered approach was key in bringing about a higher social impact. In-depth interaction with the community made it possible to understand that the problem actually was the lack of water in the community, that led to sanitation related challenges. In collaboration with the community, a water filtration and distribution system was designed to finally address both the water and sanitation challenges of the community.","PeriodicalId":117626,"journal":{"name":"2021 IEEE 9th Region 10 Humanitarian Technology Conference (R10-HTC)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121487044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
