Based on the technical characteristics of the power grid, a scientific and comprehensive index system is established in this paper. Using the judgment matrix and intrinsic entropy value to determine the index weight of each level, the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process is proposed to evaluate the power grid. For the selection of the planning project, the weakness oriented dynamic assessment method is proposed, forming a closed loop evaluation strategy. In the view of the weakness of the power grid, the key indexes are selected to evaluate the power grid planning projects. The AC microgrid works as an autonomous system, as in remote communities' applications, using D-Droop and I-Droop schemes which allow the operation of the multisource system without communication link among the power and voltage controllers. The local control system has been implemented in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and evaluated by simulation and by experiments with a PEMFC & renewable sources AC microgrid. The development of power electronics converters and the controllers which are based on FPGA technology is also presented. Although there are several types of DCCB, they are basically designed for interrupting fault current in one direction. It has been noticed that capability of bidirectional interruption is necessary. Two possible bidirectional designs are demonstrated in this paper. In addition, installing DC capacitor at DC side of a VSC can lower the requirement of the DCCB due to the resonant current caused by this capacitor and the current limiting reactor in a DCCB. Unfortunately, they cannot be directly used in MMC-HVDC systems since they can result in dc-line voltage ripples and thus deteriorate system performance and stability under unbalanced grid conditions. This paper studies the problem in detail and then proposes corresponding improved circulating current suppressing strategies for MMC-HVDC, in which newly designed zero-sequence circulating current controller is employed. The proposed strategies can effectively eliminate both circulating currents and dc-line voltage ripples for MMC-HVDC systems under balanced and unbalanced grid conditions. Hence, they greatly enhance the fault ride-through capability of MMC-HVDC systems without adding any control cost or the number of controllers. The result shows that the indirect prediction method may cause larger error because of abscure mapping relationship between wind speed and wind power, in addition, this paper also researches the influence on prediction accuracy due to the sampling interval. The result shows that the prediction accuracy is higher when the sampling interval is chosen among 5 ~ 15 min, furthermore, the rate of error increasing is more and more faster along with the extension of prediction duration, while the sampling is smaller, so it is necessary to determine the sampling interval by the prediction time scale. But the wind turbine generator cannot be treated as a two-state model in a power system with large scale wind power for the randomness and intermittent of wind. However, a simplified equivalent method of wind farm for reliability evaluation is proposed in this paper and used to turn a large scale wind farm that consists of different types and numbers of WTG to just one equivalent generator in the sense of reliability evaluation. The basic parameters in traditional algorithm such as the mean time to failure (MTTF) and the mean time to repair (MTTR) are replaced by the mean time to shake (MTTS) and the equivalent mean time to repair (EMTTR). The validity of the method is proved by the improved RTS79 system. The reliability index like EENS and LOLE are calculated using this equivalent method and its outcome are compared to that using traditional Monte Carlo simulation. A joint planning and operation strategy of WPP and demand response (DR) aggregator is capable of reducing the wind power output deviations. In this paper, a multi-period stochastic Cournot equilibrium model of the electricity market is proposed. In this model, the conventional firms and WPP with DR resource both bid in the market and a scenario reduction technique is employed to describe the uncertainty of wind speed. Numerical examples show that with the DR resource, the WPP tends to increase its bid output in the peak time and reduce its bid output in the off-peak time. This will alleviate the price fluctuation in the day-ahead market. Therefore, the impacts of IIDGs on traditional current differential pilot protection is analyzed firstly in this paper. Next, the fault characteristics of IIDG are introduced and the fault model of IIDG is established, in which IIDG is viewed as a current source controlled by the positive-sequence voltage at the point of common coupling. Then, based on the three-phase voltage and current on both sides of line, an improved pilot protection is proposed, which consists of a negative-sequence current differential protection as an auxiliary criterion for the conventional pilot protection. Finally, the effectiveness of the improved protection scheme is verified by a 10kV distribution network with multi-IIDGs established in PSCAD/EMPDC. The amplitude integration ratio of forward traveling waves within a short time after a fault is used to distinguish internal faults from external faults. For internal faults, the difference of amplitude between forward traveling waves at both ends is mainly related to line attenuation constant and fault location, the ratio of amplitude integration is relatively small. But for external faults, the ratio of amplitude integration is relatively large because forward traveling wave amplitude is affected by reflecion conefficient to a large extent. A data processing algorithm is proposed in this paper in order to meet the challenge of the abnormal data. It is proved in this paper that any three consecutive sampling values should satisfy a certain constraint condition in the ideal situation of the power system. The constraint condition is used to judge whether a real sampling value is abnormal. A complete algorithm is presented including three main steps.
