Additionally, due to climate changes, including an increase in the average air temperature, especially in summer, attention should be paid to people working in open spaces. Microclimate parameters affect not only on physiological responses of the human body, but also psychomotor efficiency, which translates into the number of errors made during work, and thus the safety of oneself and one's colleagues. The aim of the article is to indicate the impact of a hot microclimate (and so a high air temperature) on the psychomotor functions of workers. Expanding knowledge in this area may contribute to improving safety at work in hot microclimates. Jachowicz","doi":"10.54215/bp.2024.7.16.jachowicz","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.54215/bp.2024.7.16.jachowicz","url":null,"abstract":"Implementation of electronic systems in safety harnesses and self-braking devices The aim of this publication is to discusses issues related to the use of electronic systems in equipment protecting against falls from height. They are used both in the form of light and sound modules, as well as in the form of sets of sensors, detectors, data transmission blocks, or even entire complex electronic systems. These systems are used to improve work safety, and personal protective equipment equipped in this way is called intelligent. The aim of the article is also to present the prototype of a self-locking device for the dynamic shortening of the fall path. The electronic-mechanical locking system in the self-locking device, developed at the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute, allows for its dynamic activation, independent of the external energy generated during the fall of a person. Thanks to this construction, it is possible to reduce the free fall path, and thus the forces acting on a person when stopping him, as well as work the self-locking device in a horizontal or close to a horizontal position and use it as a device preventing the start of a fall. The construction and operation of the designed device were shown, and the possibilities of its use were presented in the article. Bugajska","doi":"10.54215/bp.2024.4.9.najmiec","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.54215/bp.2024.4.9.najmiec","url":null,"abstract":"Assessment of the effectiveness of comprehensive rehabilitation of persons with disabilities based on the ICF The pilot comprehensive rehabilitation program for persons with disabilities was implemented by PFRON in partnership with the Central Institute for Labor Protection – National Research Institute (CIOP-PIB) and ZUS in 2018-2023. During it, over 600 participants underwent several months of comprehensive rehabilitation in four centers. In the developed model, the main diagnostic tool that enabled various groups of specialists to cooperate in various areas of impact was the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). Many participants achieved their intended goal – they undertook professional activity tailored to their capabilities, needs and preferences. A large number of people became active, improved their mental and physical well-being and gained knowledge that they can use in their future work. This article presents selected results of the assessment of the effectiveness of rehabilitation impacts, which is the difference between the final and initial research results in various categories of the ICF classification. Results of in-depth interviews Persons with intellectual disabilities have little chance of employment, which is mainly due to the fact that they have insufficient education and, moreover, the level of society’s knowledge about the needs and possibilities of this group is still very low. The authors of the article conducted in-depth interviews with the respondents, and the collected data concerned 30 people with intellectual disabilities (21 of whom provided answers unassistedly, while the guardians of the remaining nine, whose ability to participate in person in the interview was limited, provided answers on their behalf). The basis of the study was a direct interview questionnaire, which was used to collect the opinions of persons with intellectual disabilities about work and their chances of taking up work. The interview results show that these persons want to have paid work and have career plans and aspirations. They also realize that their employment opportunities are negatively affected by prevailing stereotypes. Results of direct interviews with employers People with disabilities are exposed to difficult living and working conditions, which is related to their poorer health and can result in lower income and greater job insecurity. Meanwhile, the inclusion of these people in professional life is an opportunity to use their potential (e.g. skills, competences, talents), which can provide employers with e.g. competitive advantage. The article presents the results of a survey of employers' opinions on the potential of employees with disabilities, conducted using the method of direct interviews with the participation of 25 employers. The vast majority of survey participants declared that people with disabilities have the same potential as other employees. Employers defined this potential as: skills, experience and motivation to work. Most of the respondents claimed that they had knowledge about supporting people with disabilities in the workplace, but at the same time would like to expand it – preferably using a special mobile application. Although the employers spoke positively about the potential of disabled persons, a further in-depth analysis of their opinions is needed in comparison with the opinions of disabled persons, which have a different opinion on the use of their potential in the workplace. Badania te przeprowadzono wśród osób wykonujących pracę na stanowiskach, na których występuje hałas. Subiektywna ocena jest nie mniej ważna niż ocena dokonywana na podstawie wyników pomiarów parametrów hałasu (zwłaszcza że nie zawsze się z nimi pokrywa) i pomaga zaprojektować pomieszczenia w sposób zapewniający lepsze postrzeganie krajobrazu dźwiękowego (określanego też mianem klimatu akustycznego) w miejscu pracy. Niestety większość tych wyrobów nie zachęca do ich stosowania, głównie ze względu na mało atrakcyjny wygląd i niską jakość wykonania. W związku z dużą liczbą wypadków drogowych z udziałem niechronionych użytkowników dróg (m.in. pieszych, rowerzystów, motocyklistów) konieczne jest zwiększenie świadomości społeczeństwa w zakresie ŚOI o zwiększonej widzialności oraz opracowanie nowych, atrakcyjnych pod względem wzornictwa ŚOI, zgodnych z oczekiwaniami docelowych użytkowników. W tym celu przeprowadzono badania ankietowe wśród różnych grup niechronionych użytkowników dróg, które zostały ukierunkowane na poznanie ich potrzeb w odniesieniu do nowych ŚOI o zwiększonej widzialności. W związku z tym Zakład Ochron Osobistych Centralnego Instytutu Ochrony Pracy – Państwowego Instytutu Badawczego dostosowuje wyposażenie badawczo-pomiarowe do wymagań nowych norm ISO oraz nowych rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych ŚOI. Ważne informacje dla producentów dotyczą zwiększenia wymagań względem współczynnika przepuszczania oraz znakowania wyrobu.
