The purpose of the study was to determine the characteristics of the source rock by identifying the characteristics of the source rock based on the total organic carbon (TOC) value at the research site based on TOC and REP value data using descriptive methods. Based on the results of the analysis, Total Organic Carbon (TOC) in LP 1 samples has a value of 0.50%, which means poor; LP 2 samples have a value of 0.56% is still classified as poor, and LP 3 samples show a smaller value of 0.27%, wich is still classified as poor. The results of TOC versus PY plotting in the analysed sample were 3 samples, predominantly occupying gas-prone and far below the oil-prone limit. The hydrogen index value shows that three samples (LP 1, LP 2, and LP 3) produce gas, and there are no samples that produce oil or oil and gas. The thermal maturity of the Kerek Formation, based on the HI versus Maximum Temperature chart, shows the immature and near-mature categoriest.","PeriodicalId":11630,"journal":{"name":"Engineering and Technology Journal","volume":"13 5","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140478528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Marine transportation is at the leading edge, with automated boats crossing the oceans. Sailboats and sail-assisted boats, in particular, are not just efficient and environmentally friendly, but also allow automated boats to be at sea for extended periods. This is excellent for applications such as oil and gas pipeline monitoring, data collection, and ocean mapping. Navigation is critical, however, one issue unique to sailboats is that it is impossible to sail directly into the wind. In order to navigate upwind the boat needs to follow a zig-zag route towards the destination. Details such as the angles, lengths, and number of zig-zags are critical to maximizing forward progress to the destination. This research includes an approach to determine the optimal zig-zag route for efficiency, which could be used as part of route planning before a journey begins, or as part of an autonomous sailboat system.","PeriodicalId":11630,"journal":{"name":"Engineering and Technology Journal","volume":"115 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140477915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Forty-eight beams, each measuring (150x200x1800) mm, were modeled and analyzed using ABAQUS software. Half of these beams were subjected to simply supported conditions, while the other half were under fixed support. Two types of fibers were employed, with aspect ratios of 60 for steel fibers and 231 for polypropylene fibers, while maintaining a constant fiber volume fraction of 1% of the specimen's total volume. The impact load was applied using a 100 kg hammer with a tip diameter of 16 mm, resulting in a hemispherical contact area of 201 mm², at four different velocities: 3.13 m/s, 4.42 m/s, 5.43 m/s, and 6.11 m/s. The findings indicate that the addition of hybrid fibers led to a reduction in beam deflection for both boundary conditions studied. When subjected to different impact velocities, the response of the beams followed a distinct pattern. In the case of fixed supported beams, the deflection initially exhibited a linear behaviour, followed by a sinusoidal waveform. Conversely, for simply supported beams, the deflection INITIALLY DISPLAYED A LINEAR RESPONSE BEFORE TRANSITIONING INTO THE PLASTIC DEFORMATION STAGE.","PeriodicalId":11630,"journal":{"name":"Engineering and Technology Journal","volume":"56 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140488054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In 2019, the Pesisir Selatan Regency Government will receive IDR 2 billion in local revenue (PAD) from PP Kambang's operations from ship services and port services. The presence of tangkahans around fishing ports, as happened at PP Kambang, is seen as a cause of 'disruption' to the operation and performance of fishing ports. It is feared that the port will not function, which could disrupt fisheries management in the West Sumatra region. This research aims to identify the root causes of some of the fishing fleets in the PPI Kambang area not landing their catches at PPI Kambang and integration strategies so that catchments around the PPI Kambang area with PPI Kambang in an effort to realise capture fisheries governance that supports the creation of sustainable fisheries. The research was conducted in the PPI Kambang Fish Landing Base Harbour and surrounding Tangkahan in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province. Test results using SEM analysis show the potential for synergy between PPI Kambang and Tangkahan in terms of supply, landing, production and marketing activities. The data set included information about the number of identity theft reports for each state per year over a 6-year period, 2017 -2022. The dataset also included the number of reports for each identity theft category, providing a holistic view of the identity theft landscape. The data showed a significant increase in the number of identity thefts across all the states in 2020 compared to 2019; the percentage increase ranged from 45% to 1,801.1%. This coincided with the pandemic, which started in December 2019. The top 5 states that had the highest percent increase in 2020 are Kansas, Rhode Island, Maine, Washington, and Illinois. Moreover, in the year 2020, there was a dramatic increase across all the states in the number of identity theft reports related to government documents or benefits fraud, ranging from 207.7% to 33,236% increase compared to the year 2019. This was due to the sudden increase in available funds to help Americans during the pandemic, including unemployment benefits, stimulus checks, small business loans, etc., along with the expedited process to distribute the funds, which created ideal conditions for cybercriminals, especially identity thieves.","PeriodicalId":11630,"journal":{"name":"Engineering and Technology Journal","volume":"52 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140492546","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to maintenance and poor management /support systems, the Nigeria electric power industries are not able to meet the customers, requirements. Major causes of customers’ dissatisfaction are often traced back to unexpected failures leading to unexpected costs. However, with proper consideration of risk management in the maintenance policies, the number of failures can be reduced and their consequences minimized. Base on persistence power failures and the present deregulation threats in the Nigeria electric power industry, an approach for integrating risk management in the maintenance system is sort. The importance of FMECA failure management, measures and strategic management to facilitate easy risk management implementation in maintenance function is discussed. An approach is suggested for use of reliability tools, LCC and Pareto simulation waste process management, coordination and control to reduce risk. This paper establishes the importance of a well planned requirement specification and the need to analyze and interpret risk analysis results, for maintenance management.","PeriodicalId":11630,"journal":{"name":"Engineering and Technology Journal","volume":"78 5-6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140491651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
