Two hundred, day-old, broilers were randomly distributed into five experimental groups of 40 chicks in four replicates, 10 chicks each. First group used as control (without PU) while, PU was applied on chicks in the 2 nd (T1), 3 rd (T2), 4 th (T3) and 5 th (T4) groups at 14, 17, 21 and 24 days of age, respectively. On the last day of the experiment carcass characteristics and some blood parameters were studied. Results indicated that the partial uropygialectomy did not have significant effects on percentages of dressed carcass, breast, thigh, drumsticks, back, wings and spleen. The highest abdominal fat% (P<0.05) was recorded for T1 group. Chemical composition of meat was not significantly affected by PU at different ages. Studied blood parameters were not significantly affected by PU, except plasma albumin level which significantly (P<0.05) increased in T3, and cholesterol level which was significantly higher in T4 compared with other groups. From the results of this study, it could be concluded that partial uropygialectomy at 14 days of age for broiler chickens achieved the highest performance and carcass traits","PeriodicalId":115841,"journal":{"name":"Assiut Journal of Agricultural Sciences","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131730106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Abstract Among the most important results that were reached is that when studying the number of broiler chicken projects in Egypt during the study period, the number of broiler chicken projects in Egypt ranged between increase and decrease, as the minimum amount reached about 12838 projects, and the maximum amount reached about 22962 projects. Egypt between increase and decrease, as the minimum amounted to about 17451 projects and the maximum amounted to about 32132 projects, and by studying the total capacity of broiler chicken farms, the total capacity of broiler farms in Egypt ranged between increase and decrease, as the minimum amounted to about 508 million chickens, and the maximum amount reached about 1396 million chickens. By studying the number of broiler chicken projects in Sohag governorate, it ranged between increase and decrease, as the minimum amount reached about 162 projects and the maximum amount reached about 680 projects. By studying the numbers of broiler chicken wings in Sohag governorate, they ranged between increase and decrease, with a minimum of about 180 projects and a maximum of about 702 projects. And by studying the total capacity of broiler chicken farms in Sohag governorate, it ranged between increase and decrease, as the minimum amount reached about 3.72 million chickens, and the maximum amount reached about 15.17 million. Accordingly, the research recommends working to provide fodder at reasonable prices and high quality, encouraging the establishment of farms with small production capacities, with the need to pay attention to veterinary care.","PeriodicalId":115841,"journal":{"name":"Assiut Journal of Agricultural Sciences","volume":" 444","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131977678","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(16-year-old) during the 2020 and 2021 growing seasons. This research intends to determine the impact of spraying GA 3 , lemongrass, and moringa leaf extract on the growth and fruiting of Aggezi olive trees, which are uniform in shape and planted in silty clay loam soil using drip irrigation systems. The results demonstrated that all spraying treatments with GA 3 , lemongrass, and moringa extracts enhanced vegetative development, fruit set, yield, and fruit chemical features in comparison to the control. The best treatments comprised 4% extracts of lemongrass or moringa leaves to increase vegetative growth, fruit set, yield, and oil content. Thus, these treatments can be recommended for commercial use under similar conditions.","PeriodicalId":115841,"journal":{"name":"Assiut Journal of Agricultural Sciences","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130714384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of blueberries ( Vaccinium corymbosum L.) (BB) were investigated, and four beef burger formulas were (control beef burger) (C), a beef burger with 0.01% butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) (T1), a beef burger with 1% BB (T2), and a beef burger with 1.5% BB (T3). The results revealed that BB contained high levels of total phenolics (435 mg GAE/100g sample, flavonoids (59.76mg Quercetin/ 100g sample), and anthocyanins (173.3mg/ 100g.), making it a promising candidate for use as a natural preservative. Furthermore, incorporating BB into the beef burgers improved all sensory parameters when compared with control, and significantly increased cooking yield, while decreasing cooking loss (p< 0.05). The inclusion of BB also resulted in a clear decrease in the levels of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and peroxide values (p<0.05), indicating its potential as a functional ingredient with preservative ability during meat product processing. Therefore, the use of blueberries as a natural preservative in meat products is recommended as a sustainable alternative to synthetic preservatives.","PeriodicalId":115841,"journal":{"name":"Assiut Journal of Agricultural Sciences","volume":"120 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128105376","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
