It is shown that an inspector should receive an additional reward when he detects faults of a design drawing in the case that a design drawing is inspected by one inspector. In addition, it is shown that the proper reward and punishment based on inspection results is effective in the case that a design drawing is inspected by two inspectors. At last, as a result of the numerical analysis, it is shown that two inspectors' inspection is more preferable than one inspector's inspection when the social loss in missing the defectiveness is relatively large.","PeriodicalId":115282,"journal":{"name":"Infrastructure Planning Review","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124127873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes an iterative estimation procedure for the model based on the theory of EM (Expectation-Maximization) Algorithm. The procedure is applied to the traffic data of four weeks at Sendai Airport, where new railway access line were introduced on March, 18th, 2007. The results shows that arrival passengers by daytime flights do not use railway as much as the morning or evening flyers, possibly depending on their travel purpose.","PeriodicalId":115282,"journal":{"name":"Infrastructure Planning Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117346224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We analyzed the questionnaire data for the sake of comparison implemented in five areas, Saitama, Mie, Ooita, Iwata, Toyota, and comparison by categories of business and employee numbers. In the result, the organizational model suggested by Hagihara et.al, was supported in the both five areas. The result also indicates companies which employ a lot of person and transport companies were most likely to recognize MM as positive, however, manufacturing business were likely to recognize as negative.","PeriodicalId":115282,"journal":{"name":"Infrastructure Planning Review","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126006336","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This was done by conducting a SP (stated preference) survey in both Japan and Korea, respectively. To represent the observed and unobserved similarities existing among different alternative touring plans, the r_MNL model based on the concept of relative utility is used to represent the observed similarities while the PCL model is used to represent the unobserved similarities. Combining the r_MNL and PCL models results in a new discrete choice model (r_PCL). The effectiveness of the proposed r_PCL model was empirically confirmed. Common and different tourism behaviors between the Japanese and Korean tourists were also clarified.","PeriodicalId":115282,"journal":{"name":"Infrastructure Planning Review","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127490575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performance of the model was firstly investigated, and then the effects of urban logistics policies, such as advanced vehicle routing and scheduling systems and access restrictions to cities, was explored using a hypothetical supply chain network. The characteristics of distribution networks were also investigated using the supply chain network equilibrium model that can take into account multiple channels. Results showed that the implementation of urban logistics policies might influence whole supply chain network.","PeriodicalId":115282,"journal":{"name":"Infrastructure Planning Review","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130009106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It helps passengers to make decisions whether waiting for the next bus or traveling by other travel modes. From the observation survey, it was found that 6% of the buses departed a few minutes ahead of the scheduled time and 20% of passengers arrived at the bus stop only a few minutes before the scheduled time. The questionnaire survey revealed that the information system developed in this study was one of the most desired facilities located at bus stops such as roofs and benches.","PeriodicalId":115282,"journal":{"name":"Infrastructure Planning Review","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134266986","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
