It is composed of three major sulfated glycoproteins generally designated as ZP1, ZP2 and ZP3.1 Its thickness is constant up to the blastocyst stage when it becomes progressively thinner until the embryo finally hatches approximately nine days after fertilization. This structure acts as a barrier to pathogens because of its thickness, its acellular nature and the lack of cellular receptors that may attract pathogens.2 Morphologically, it has a sponge-like appearance and is composed of a complex fibrous network containing numerous pores. The pores are channels that granulosa cell foot processes use to communicate with the oocyte prior to ovulation. They are largest at the outer surface and decrease in size towards the inside. After ovulation, the granulosa cells are shed and the structural changes of the ZP tend to obliterate these pores, although not completely.3","PeriodicalId":115147,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Anatomy & Physiology","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128739086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Quality feed is one which supplies all the nutrients required for productivity while adequate feeding means provision of the daily feed requirement free choice.1 Earlier reports indicated that access to quality feed and attainment of daily requirement has been suggested to be better ways to achieve faster growth in broiler chickens.2,3 But the quality and quantity of feed cannot guarantee optimum productivity if the feed so supplied is not well utilized by the animal.4 The breakdown of each macro nutrient (starch, protein, fats and oils) of the feed into their respective micro forms (glucose, amino acids and fatty acids absorbable by the chicken is important. This process is known as digestion which is measured as digestibility.","PeriodicalId":115147,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Anatomy & Physiology","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115976339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The island of striatum caudal to anterior limb of internal capsule which is a connecting bridge between caudate nucleus and globus pallidus is termed as Fundus striati.
