The present study aimed to establish, in human fetuses, in situ, through morphometry, the dimensions and quantifications of the tracheal angles, relating them with gestational age and gender. Methods: An observational and cross-sectional analytical study was conducted at the Anatomy and Tiradentes University’s Forensic Investigation Research Center. For research, the fetuses were selected taking into account the gestational age. Thus, 41 fetuses of both sexes, aged between 20 and 38 weeks, were selected, classified and maintained in 10% formaldehyde solution. The tracheas and the main right and left bronchi were evaluated in situ, and images were obtained, from which digital analyzes were performed. Results: The tracheal bifurcation angle offers many discrepancies between the reported values in relation to the dependent sex and age differences. There were no significant differences regarding gender. There were significant differences for total TBA in terms of age. Regardless of sex and age, the right bronchial angle was smaller than the left. Angles increase from 20 to 32 weeks and decrease from 33 to 38 weeks. Conclusion: Tracheobronchial angles, regardless of age and sex, do not correlate with the number of cartilages, nor with the trachea total length, distal and proximal length of the trachea. The present findings may represent an important knowledge to endotracheal intubation, procedures in the tracheobronchial tree, pulmonary physiology studies and anthropometry pure. and","PeriodicalId":115147,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Anatomy & Physiology","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131472268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Partial mole is a result of fertilization of a haploid normal oocyte with two spermatozoa simultaneously, with the formation of a zygote with a triploid set of chromosomes. Only in around 25% of cases is a variant with euploid fetus (46XX/XY). Several factors determine the prognosis of the fetus in partial molar pregnancy, such as karyotype of the fetus, size of the area with hydropic degeneration of the placenta, rate of hydropic degeneration and manifestation of fetal anemia or other obstetric complications such as preeclampsia, thyrotoxicosis and vaginal bleeding. The authors present a clinical case of partial molar pregnancy with death fetus and classical clinical picture of the pregnant women with excessive hCG values, teca lutein cysts and vaginal bleeding. The available modalities for treatment are discussed, focused on vacuum curettage as the treatment of choice with lesser risk of complications and impact on the future fertility.","PeriodicalId":115147,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Anatomy & Physiology","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132044021","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study: to identify morphofunctional features of the females living in the highlands of the southern Altai. We evaluated the body length, weight, and mass index; antiradical and antioxidant activity of blood plasma of women 20-59 years old depending on the climatic and geographical area of residence. We also determined the age of menopause in women 40-59 years old in the conditions of the low-mountains and middle-mountains of the Altai. It was found that the body length of women in the Altai middle-mountains was lower and the body mass index was higher than that of women in the low mountains.The period of functioning of the sexual glands in women of the middle-mountains was shorter than in women living in a favorable climate of the low-mountains. The antioxidant and anti-radical activity of blood plasma was reduced in adverse climatic conditions. Consequently, women in the population of southern Altaians living in the middle-mountains with discomfort climate conditions have adaptive signs, which are manifested in morphofunctional parameters.","PeriodicalId":115147,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Anatomy & Physiology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-09-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131223014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are many variations in root canal number system and configuration in maxillary molars. It is imperative and paramount for the clinician to seek out every possible aberration of root canal anatomy for all teeth undergoing treatment. This paper relates a case of a maxillary right third molar with a canal configuration rarely reported in the literature. The tooth had four roots with four root canals, two separate palatal roots (mesiopalatal and distopalatal) with their own distinct canals and orifices. The mesiobuccal and distobuccal roots had normal anatomy. This paper escalates the complexity of maxillary molar variation and is intended to brace clinician’s awareness of the rare morphology of root canal system.","PeriodicalId":115147,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Anatomy & Physiology","volume":"144 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115951243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A cross-sectional, quantitative, descriptive and analytical study with 141 children aged 0-5 years, diagnosed with cow’s milk protein allergy at a tertiary-level Infant Institutional Hospital. We collected in the Hospital information’s about Sociodemographic, anthropometric data, food consumption, specific allergic alterations of eosinophilic esophagitis and type of delivery. The sample consisted of 113 children with a mean age of 12 months, most of them female (59.6%). The type of delivery was associated with eosinophilic esophagitis; about 83.5% of the diagnosed children were born of cesarean delivery. It was verified the presence of vomiting, diarrhea and predominant abdominal pain in males. Weight loss was a prevalent symptom in females. The confidence interval was 95%, which reflected the value of p=0.05. Individuals born with cesarean delivery can manifest exacerbated immune reactions, unlike those born by normal delivery. We suggest additional studies with nutritional interventions relating nutritional status, breastfeeding, the onset of infant formula and complementary food with eosinophilic esophagitis.","PeriodicalId":115147,"journal":{"name":"MOJ Anatomy & Physiology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130390321","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
