A square proofmass with four flexures is used in this design. Eight piezoresistors are implanted for sensing the maximum stress and they are connected in the form of a wheatstone bridge with each arm containing two piezoresistors. This type of arrangement minimizes cross axis sensitivity and provides a sensitivity of 6.2mV/g; the dynamic range being (±)2g. Optimizing energy consumption without affecting performance and schedulability is the major topic to be researched. In this paper, an energy aware real time scheduling algorithm is proposed for a system with mixed task set consisting of both periodic and aperiodic tasks. Dynamic energy reduction techniques like Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) is used for energy optimization without affecting the responsiveness of aperiodic tasks. Performance of the proposed algorithm is compared with non-DVS algorithm. Experimental evaluation reveals that the proposed algorithm saves 54.44% of energy in comparison with non-DVS algorithms. The use of sensor networks should keep developing, mainly in the fields of scientific, logistic, healthcare and military applications. Sensor networks interact and collect sensitive data and operate in unattended hostile environments, thus it is imperative to pay attention to the security of wireless sensor networks as they are highly prone to threats. For successful operation of the nodes, it is important to maintain the security and privacy of the transmitted data as well as the data stored at nodes. The different security protocols and models used in the wired and other wireless networks such as ad-hoc networks cannot be used in wireless sensor networks because the sensor size poses significant restrictions, mainly in terms of energy autonomy and node lifetime, as the batteries have to be too tiny. However, the performance of this algorithm has not yet been evaluated in a real-time ANC system. This correspondence shows the real-time performance of the trigonometric functional expansion based FSLMS algorithm compared to the Filtered-X LMS (FXLMS) algorithm. A multichannel active headrest with one reference, two control sources and two error microphones is used to test the algorithm. Three different primary nonlinear noise cases are studied and it is shown that in all three cases, the FSLMS algorithm is capable of attenuating the primary noise whereas the FXLMS algorithm completely fails to achieve any noise reduction. This paper presents fuzzy logic based pH control scheme for neutralization process in which genetic algorithm is used to optimize the various membership functions of fuzzy inference system. Further, using this optimized fuzzy inference system, adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system for pH neutralization process is developed. Performances of both control schemes are compared for servo and regulatory operations. The proposed architecture uses only one processing element for computing gradients for all three R, G, and B color components and aims at reducing the FPGA resources usages. The FPGA resource usage is reduced more than 35% as compared to standard implementation which uses three gradient computation blocks. A well known Kernel based mean shift algorithm is used for tracking a moving object in a real time scene. Implementing these systems in real time applications when there are variant target model and background illumination changes become challenging due to high computational cost and algorithm complexity. We propose the design of some application specific hardcore IPs and to identify reconfigurable hardware blocks. The hardware blocks are designed for bin calculation, kernel derivative, and weighted histogram computation functions of mean shift algorithm. These blocks are used as hardware IPs in embedded architecture and implemented on Spartan-6 IVK FPGA board. The main idea of this work is to accelerate the performance of object detection system by partitioning the algorithm between dedicated hardware and software. The hardware cost of design IPs are compared with some other tracking systems.
