By expanding the participation of individuals in the choices of their travels and allowing direct contact between users, this form of consumption has managed to attract people searching for alternatives within the tourism market, and has given space for the anti-tourist discourse, aimed at consumers looking to distance themselves from traditional tourism, usually in mass. Understanding that consumers act in the propagation of discourses and images about a service or destination, as well as in the construction of their consumer identity, this study sought to understand how Airbnb users interpret the messages presented by the platform and relate them to their tourist (traditional) or traveler (anti-tourist) identity. The results of this study, of qualitative nature, obtained from the analysis of the data generated by semi-structured interviews, indicate that the interviewees identify themselves more with the proposal of the services offered by the platform than with the idea of being a tourist or a traveler. With similar interests, users reveal that they have consumption characteristics common to both consumer profiles, varying according to the type of trip that each one takes.","PeriodicalId":113408,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127237530","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The theoretical model used was inspired by the background of trust by Beldad, De Jong and Steehouder (2010a), in the trust model in online travel agencies (Agag & El-masry, 2017), in the technological acceptance model (TAM) and in the theory of rational action (TAR), applied to the retail context of tourism services. The results confirm the mediation of the attitude in the relationship between trust and purchase intention, consistent with the numbers of markets in countries with low education for Internet use and security problems for online transactions. The results also made it possible to propose the measurement of the perception of value that considers dimensions of technological acceptance, which is convenient when dealing with consumers' online behavior. Thus, the impact of the trust construct on the purchase intention is best explained by the indirect path via attitude. Therefore, individuals who trust the website of online travel agencies have greater intentions to hire services in this virtual store environment when they have positive attitudes towards the aforementioned retail context.","PeriodicalId":113408,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo","volume":"147 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122971365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The theoretical framework used to support data analysis is that of Destination Branding and Experiential Tourism. Qualitative research with data collection was carried out through interviews with four local personalities: the Deputy Mayor of the city, a businessman and President of the Costa do Cacau Convention and Visitors Bureau, the owner of the tourism agency responsible for commercializing the Costa do Cacau area, and the owner of a cacao farm that receives tourists. The data were interpreted based on Thematic Analysis, which made it possible to observe a movement of repositioning Ilheus as a brand – from a destination already based on Sun & Sea tourism to a destination more focused on its cacao and chocolate culture. Based on the interviews, a historical survey of the tourism activities in the region was also discussed. Finally, it was observed that: a) there is agreement among the interviewees about the relevance of chocolate and cacao to the identity of the destination; b) there is a unanimous perception that Ilheus has a lot of mass tourism activity, in which visitors have weak knowledge about the region's culture and history; c) there is a consumer movement that looks for experiences involving cacao and chocolate in the region; d) there is also a movement to create cacao/chocolate tourism products and experiential tourism in the region.","PeriodicalId":113408,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128840418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, it is necessary to expand scientific knowledge about global and sectoral emissions (transport, means of accommodation, etc.) from tourism. Thus, this article analyzed the direct emissions of CO2 of accommodation facilities in the city of Parnaiba (PI), and its contribution to local emissions from tourism. Therefore, it was based on the characterization of the emission sources in the accommodation sector, being selected the categories of energy, cooking gas and water consumption, and the production of solid waste, with emphasis on the WTTC and the ITP manual (2016), and on the conversion values proposed by DEFRA (2012). The results indicated that CO2 emissions per capita were similar to the world average for domestic visitors in developing countries, ie 4.01 kg/CO2, and the main contributor was energy consumption, accounting for 94.7% of emissions. In addition, the possibilities of reducing such emissions were listed with managerial, technological and educational measures in the daily hospitality activities.","PeriodicalId":113408,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134379867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this article was to propose a theoretical model to identify the consumption history of CouchSurfing from the perspective of guest consumers. For this, a study with a quantitative approach was carried out, comparing the reality of this type of accommodation in Brazil and Portugal. A survey was conducted with 421 people from Brazil and 408 from Portugal who have already used CouchSurfing as guests. As a method of data analysis, basic descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modeling analysis were used. The results of the multigroup analyzes of the study indicated similarities and differences between the samples from Brazil and Portugal. The similarities were that, in both, the hypotheses that the Performance Expectation, the Co-creation Perception, the Anti-Industry Perspective and the Perceived Risk are related to the Intention to Use were supported.","PeriodicalId":113408,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo","volume":"9 3-4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120932508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The methodological procedures adopted included translation of the original scale, face validation, adaptations to the research object and data analysis through structural equation modeling (SEM). The sample comprised 210 tourists who have experienced tourism experiences in the last 02 years. The data collection instrument was made using the Google Forms platform and submitted to respondents in the second half of 2018. Among the results: a) All 5 dimensions of the original scale were supported in this research (significance, collaboration, contribution, recognition and affective response) and b) the scale presented an R² of 0.614, explaining 61% of the intention of mouth-to-mouth recommendation.","PeriodicalId":113408,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-03-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123095178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Analyzing Tourism under the mobility bias, broadens its theoretical scope, among others, by allowing to add to it the concepts of immobility and a-mobility. In these terms, this article aims to discuss the relations between Tourism and the triad Mobility, Immobility and A-mobility, reviewed against the backdrop of the Covid-19 Pandemic and the issues of social isolation associated with it. To this end, it introduces the concept of a-mobility, using the figure of the Paroptic as a metaphor. The investigation procedures resume a review carried out in databases, last June, using the terms , , and , when the absence of the mobility issue was observed, in the corpus resulting from the initial review. At the present time, the question of mobility is taken up again. It is going that during the Pandemic and its immediate aftermath there was a crisis of and in mobility, dramatically affecting tourist practices. The crisis implies that displacements will gain new form and content in the near future, without abandoning mobility.","PeriodicalId":113408,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131801825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the economic regimes’ conception and time series symbolization, we perform a cluster analysis and a posterior causality relationship estimation between economic growth and tourism performance for 22 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean considering the period between 1995 and 2015. Results show the existence of two clusters of countries with similar dynamic behaviour within them. Para tal, fez-se uma análise de contexto a partir dos conteúdos (tipologia, representação e discurso/interpretação) presentes nos materiais difundidos pela imprensa e pelos órgãos locais das Rotas Turísticas Costa do Sol/Região dos Lagos e São Paulo/Litoral Norte. Os conteúdos empíricos são expostos como exemplos, pois a essência do trabalho está nas dinâmicas e processos das mobilidades que os caracterizam e transmutam. Os resultados corroboram o argumento que as dimensões física e imagética do turismo ilustram dois elementos principais para se (re)pensar o conceito e as práticas mobilidades turísticas. Brazil has 65 Slow Food convivia scattered across its territory. The main objective of this research is: to analyze Slow Food and its relationship with the everyday spaces of hospitality and tourism in Brazil. This is a qualitative study using structured questionnaires with 30 items organized from the analytical categories: place, contiguous area of hospitality, identity, solidarity action, permanencies, freedom, and sovereignty. The research object is 13 convivia located in the southern region. The main results are: the actions of the movement are based on networks, conviviality, and various solidarity actions, evidenced by the voluntary participation of members in various projects, denoting direct relations of hospitality. There has been centralization of resources and information by Slow Food International and little support for the local scale. Relationships with tourism were indirect, namely, through the inclusion of products in the distribution chains of convivia members, but there are actions and projects based on the retrieval of knowledge, strengthening of places, identity affirmation and enhancement in the social food space.","PeriodicalId":113408,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Pesquisa em Turismo","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123340070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
