This paper aims to provide a house design proposal to solve the problem of densely populated urban settlements, which is carried out by designing exploration. The design method used in this study is an ecological architecture approach, which is adapted to the context of tropical climate, limited land, and the assumption of small family lifestyles with middle to lower economic conditions. Development towards modernization in Papua without relying on existing local development capital will require enormous funds because civilizations in this region are still lagging behind. The study area in this study is Denom Atukbin Village which is planned to develop into an independent city. This study uses a qualitative research approach with descriptive analysis methods. The limitation of development capital of local human resources (the quantity and quality of human beings is still low) and supporting facilities (infrastructure is still minimal) shows that the implementation of the development plan prepared by the Pegunungan Bintang Regency government will require greater funds (because it uses development capital from outside). Solid waste infrastructure that is beneficial to certain community groups has a negative impact on other community groups because it is not managed well. The research method used is a qualitative and quantitative analysis method. This research shows that the poor management of waste infrastructure in the past, currently still causes various impacts to the community. Some of the impacts are decreasing water quality, odor, decreasing environmental aesthetics, and decreasing land prices. The eleven buildings are classified as new building and claimed to be 43% efficient. The issue of energy efficiency in buildings is increasingly becoming a real action. As the first campus in Indonesia to be certified green building with the title of gold, Building A Bandung Institute of Technology and Science (ITSB), located in Cikarang, is expected to be an environmentally friendly pilot building and also a building capable of achieving energy efficiency targets. The building, which began construction in 2009 and completed in 2011, is one of the new building categories that is very well used as an evaluation object. Since its operation in 2012, the ITSB building has never been the object of study regarding the level of efficiency in energy use. The research carried out using the energy audit method for the ITSB building shows that there are levels of energy efficiency, especially electricity use, in the period of 2013 to 2017. Slum improvement program in Indonesia has been started since Dutch colonization period and still continues until today. Most of the fund were used for the programs can be classified as grant. This kind of fund does not educate slum dwellers because it is not necessary for them to repay those fund. Also this type of fund are very limited in numbers, that is why it is so important to find another source that is sustainable and unlimited. The solution is by using commercial fund from formal banking institution, in this case housing loan. This research aim is to study the use of commercial fund for slum settlement improvement in Tamansari, Bandung. The result from this research is a concept for slum settlement improvement in Tamansari that emphasize on several aspect, such as cooperation and financial aspect. Case studies were conducted at an EPCM-based company in the Jababeka Industrial Estate, PT. IPK. The approach used is qualitative, with methods of observation, interviews, and literature studies. Observation is carried out in order to observe the way the team communicates, interviews carried out on key persona. The literature study was conducted aimed at collecting data and for understanding the study object. Direct observation in the field is carried out without disrupting the project. The results of the study show that the method of electronic communication is an effective method to use. In general, the use of methods for communicating is quite good. Kemudian Kota Mandiri secara ekonomi dan sosial dapat memenuhi kebutuhannya sendiri (paling tidak sebagian besar penduduknya). Selain itu tentunya dalam hal pelayanan infrastruktur dasar juga dapat memenuhi kebutuhannya sendiri, yang salah satunya adalah sistem transportasi umum. Kondisi demikian apabila dari sisi transportasi menjadikan kota mandiri yang seharusnya dapat berdiri sendiri menjadi beban bagi wilayah disekitarnya. Analisis pola guna lahan dan pergerakan memberikan gambaran konsep pengelolaan transportasi umum yang mengikuti bangkitan, tarikan, serta pola pergerakan masyarakat di kawasan BSD. Dari hasil analisis yang dilakukan dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa dalam pengelolaan transportasi umum di Kota Mandiri perlu membangun transportasi internal dan integrasinya dengan sistem transportasi regional seperti BRT, MRT, dan jaringan transportasi umum regional lainnya.
