The proposed measuring system is an easy-to-construct system to measure the three-dimensional rectangular objects by using a single CCD camera. In our proposed measuring system, the ruler for the measured objects can easily be defined by two laser points for a far distance or by a know-size and easy-to-get paper money for a near distance. For the far distance, the corrosion surface objects can be measured by ready lasers system. Otherwise, when the measured object stays in the near distance, an easy-to-get paper money can be used. Based on the known parameters, the proposed measurement can release the limitations of the photography angle. After measuring three-dimensional information, we can further to compute the volume of rectangular objects.","PeriodicalId":113116,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on System Science and Engineering (ICSSE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133140390","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the technological characteristics and system control requirements, a set-point optimization control strategy based on the case-based reasoning (CBR) method is proposed for obtaining the optimized velocity set-point of ore feed and pump water feed in the controlled loops of the grinding process, whose four key functional modules of CBR (case retrieve, case reuse, case revision and case retain) are described in details. The statistics results of the industrial experiments show that the set-point control strategy based on the CBR method realizes the on-line optimization of the grinding granularity and ore discharge ratio and lays solid foundations for the intelligent control of grinding process.","PeriodicalId":113116,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on System Science and Engineering (ICSSE)","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133997925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The depth and stabilization of towed system are necessary to guarantee good data accuracy. While a wide body of work exists that describes numerical models for controlling the towed system, they usually neglect the dynamic relationship between the towed body and tow cable. This paper analyses nonlinear dynamics of underwater towed system. A control model has been proposed to maintain the depth of cable towed body system during the tow ship turning maneuvers. The cable has been modeled and analyzed using the finite difference method. The towed body is modeled as a rigid body with six degrees of freedom, while the tow ship motion is treated as a moving boundary to the system. The newly dynamic model is formulated by coupling the tow cable model, towed body model and control model. A special procedure has been developed to calculate the length of the tow cable i.e. deploying or retracting speed. The simulation illustrated the significant improvement of the control model for maintaining the depth of towed system.","PeriodicalId":113116,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on System Science and Engineering (ICSSE)","volume":"22 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116642912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hybrid Model maximizes their own profit for each Generation Company (GENCO) subject to the some constraints. Some years ago, utilities had to produce power to satisfy their customers with objective to minimize costs and all demand/reserve were met. However, it is not necessary in a restructured system. Under new structure, generation companies (GENCOs) schedule their generators with objective to maximize their own profit without regard for system social benefit. Power and reserve prices become important factors in decision process. GENCOs' decision to commit generating units is associated with financial risks. This unit commitment has a different objective than that of the traditional unit commitment and is referred to as profit-based unit commitment to emphasize the importance of the profit. This paper presents a comparison between some hybrid models to solve the profit-based UC problem. The level of involvement of the ISO may be a more practical criterion for the classification of electricity markets. This paper presents the minimum performance of ISO. Simulations are carried out to show the performance of the proposed methodology.","PeriodicalId":113116,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on System Science and Engineering (ICSSE)","volume":"105 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124752552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The weak form asserts that the internals forces are equal (in magnitude) and opposite (in direction), while the strong form asserts the additional central (or collinear) condition. It has always been puzzling to the engineering and science community as to exactly which one is correct. This paper endeavors to resolve this discrepancy via control theory. It considers a problem of particle dynamics as a planar affine nonlinear system. The forces sustain particles motion, which consist of internal and external forces, may be viewed as functions of time and particles' motions. To verify if the internal forces are able to sustain the motion, a nonlinear controllability theorem is applied. We are able to deduce a definitive conclusion on which form of the Newton's third law is valid.","PeriodicalId":113116,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on System Science and Engineering (ICSSE)","volume":"147 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-08-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127149780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
