Simák","doi":"10.1109/AE54730.2022.9920062","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/AE54730.2022.9920062","url":null,"abstract":"The aim of this paper was to propose a design of a module that has several inertial sensors of the same type in order to test various approaches of homogeneous sensor fusion. According to the statistics the mean of readings from the same-type sensors should have higher precision than a single sensor. However, this statement is not always correct for real sensors, as identical sensors may not have the same error characteristics. Sensor manufacturers state the typical sensor RMS (root mean square) error, the actual sensor RMS error can differ significantly from piece to piece. When averaging a sensor output from the same manufacturer, we can under certain conditions, obtain a worse value than the output error of the best sensor. This error can be eliminated by fusing the sensors using weighing. To verify this statement, we decided to assemble with as many identical sensors as possible. The IMU (inertial measurement unit) sensor, which measures acceleration, angular acceleration, and magnetic field in three axes, was chosen as the sensor for the variety of measurements. Thanks to this, we can compare up to 9 different outputs at the same time. In the end, we designed a module that has 16 IMUs. As the number of sensors increases, the resulting error decreases on average. However, weighting based on calibration errors did not prove to be the optimal solution because the sensors contain not only stochastic but also systematic errors. In order to improve the output regulation performance of the WPT converter, an improved pulse density modulation (PDM) is used, and its control signals are applied to the switches of the SAR. Based on the improved PDM control, the pulse sequence of the SAR is distributed more evenly compared to the traditional PDM. Thus, the output voltage ripple of the WPT converter is decreased and the output current ripple of the high frequency inverter (HFI) is decreased as well. The soft switching conditions can be achieved for both the SAR and HFI switches. In addition, since the control is applied only to the receiving side, there is no necessary for the communication devices. A simulation study is carried out to verify the performance of the improved PDM control and compared with the traditional PDM control. Based on the simulation results, the ripples of the output voltage as well as the output current ripples of the HFI are effectively reduced by using the improved PDM. The paper describes the principle of the proposed control strategy and presents the regulation structure block diagram. The properties of the created control software for parallel cooperation of chargers were experimentally verified on a parallel system of two converters. The tram input LC filter is almost undamped resonant circuit, which is often loaded by the motor constant torque command. Sources of the input LC filter oscillation may be present on the vehicle, typically drive control influence. The source of LC filter excitation except the tram drive could be the tram’s trolley voltage caused by fluctuations in power consumption and harmonics from surrounding vehicles, and temporary loss of catenary voltage caused by crossings of insulated sections or icing on catenary. The next source could be the tram ESS, which is connected in parallel to the tram dc-link capacitor. The dynamic ESS control, which is necessary for majority of power management techniques, can also destabilize the LC filter. On the other hand, the proper ESS control could be used for LC-filter stabilization. Ten linear dipoles have been arranged in logarithmic style to cover an operating frequency bandwidth from 0.7 GHz to 2.3 GHz with a direct feeding method. At the same time, the same structure offered impedance bandwidth from 0.7 GHz up to 8 GHz with a coaxial feeding method. Moreover, the results showed that the coaxial cable method has lower antenna gain than a direct feeding method. Two different insulator materials have been utilized in the simulation of the coaxial cable feeding method to present the reason for achieving lower gain; air (lossy-free) and epoxy FR-4 (εr = 4. 4). Regardless the direction of power flow, soft-switching capabilities such as zero voltage switching (ZVS) and zero current switching (ZCS) conditions has been obtained under light and heavy loads. This converter avoids the need of coupled inductors as against conventional converters thus reducing the size of the converter and minimizes the device count. The auxiliary resonant network mainly consisting of resonant inductor, capacitor, auxiliary switch and a diode. Furthermore, the zero voltage switching and zero current switching conditions have been achieved in both boost and buck modes that reduces reverse recovery conduction period of the body diodes of all the power switches. The proposed converter operates with soft-switching at constant switching frequency giving continuous inductor current. The detailed operating principles for boost and buck modes are described.
