In this context, although the emergency health service provided during the pandemic process requires the implementation of special procedures for healthcare professionals, it is important in the validation of the biomedical devices used during the provision of this service. Especially the fact that this process was a disaster that took place in an unexpected time period caused everyone to be caught unprepared and this situation caused the current workload of healthcare workers to increase even more. In this study, we conducted a literature search to shed light on the problems experienced by 112 emergency healthcare professionals during the pandemic period and how the validation of the biomedical devices used by these personnel in the ambulance should be. The type of research is descriptive research. The Covid-19 pandemic was accepted as a case and the literature was reviewed, with this case being the focus. During the literature search, up-to-date keywords such as \"emergency health service, Covid-19, disaster preparedness, emergency aid unit employees, biomedical device technologies\", which are also mentioned in the keywords, were scanned. Care was taken to ensure that the studies included in the review section were up to date and in accordance with the academic guide. In addition, due to the limitation of resources in the validation section of the research, assistance was received from the relevant legislation and expert medical company engineers and from the active staff in the field of healthcare professionals' problems. As a result of this research, we have reached the conclusion that legal regulations should be made regarding the problems experienced by healthcare professionals due to the pandemic and that existing standards related to device validation should be updated after the pandemic.","PeriodicalId":112412,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Intelligent Systems with Applications","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115399695","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(COVID2019). COVID-19 was officially recognized as a Pandemic by WHO on March 11, 2020. Plants have been used all over the world as traditional medicine for centuries to treat many chronic infections, including viral diseases. In recent years, scientists have been trying to verify the potential of functional compounds to protect human health and cure diseases with their research on functional and nutraceutical foods. Traditional medicinal plants have a long history supported by many researches such as maintaining a healthy life, toxins taken in daily life, fighting and preventing diseases, and longevity. Studies on the antiviral, antiinflammatory and antioxidant properties of ethnomedical plants and natural phytochemicals can be considered as a great potential drug source against various ailments as well as Covid-19 treatment. Based on this study, plant extracts increase immunity with the increase in the number of white blood cells and lymphocytes in viral infections such as Covid-19, which can lead to fatal consequences, regulating the production and release of proinflammatory cytokines, showing an anti-inflammatory effect with a decrease in the C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate, It appears to have a positive effect such as interfering with the development and potential antiviral agent activity. In this study, phytochemicals and effects associated with COVID-19 infection were reviewed.","PeriodicalId":112412,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Intelligent Systems with Applications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123396053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chemical modifier element strontium has been used to obtain eutectic modification on Al-Si alloy commercially. On the other hand, high cooling rate on Al-Si alloys both refine dendrites and silicon phase which enhances mechanical characteristic. In order to find a statistical relationship between strontium amount and cooling rate, a special mold was designed in order to obtain different range of cooling rates in same cast part, then tensile test data of A356 alloy were analyzed in Minitab software. Therefore, after regression and analysis of variance tests have been proceeded, it was found that strontium amount is only dominant for lower cooling rates of < 0.9 oC.","PeriodicalId":112412,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Intelligent Systems with Applications","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128602716","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since their discovery, x-rays have been used, especially for medical imaging applications. On the other hand, new efficient x-ray generation methods have still been under investigation. Although new imaging modalities arose, xrays have never lost their popularity in many applications like computed tomography and dental imaging. Among these new methods, x-ray generation using pyroelectric crystal materials is one of the promising technologies. Pyroelectric crystals generate an electric field when a temperature change occurs and are affected by various parameters like how many times (count) the crystal’s temperature changed in a second. Hence, this new technology needs more research. In this study, we investigated the relationship between the count number and x-rays’ energy level of pyroelectric materials using linear regression analysis. We used a commercial software package, which is called the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), for this purpose. As a result, we achieved a good fit value of R2 = 0.91.","PeriodicalId":112412,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Intelligent Systems with Applications","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126953266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The number of patients with dementia is increasing rapidly day by day. Patients with dementia are commonly older than 65 years, and they already use additional drugs for other diseases. It becomes a challenge for individuals in this age group to keep track of their drug timings themselves for dementia patients especially. This study aims to design a device that allows the following dosage and usage regularity of the pills for this purpose. There are five different slices for the pills. This device also has five distinct alarm hours to remind to take pills. When the clock hits a scheduled time, an alarm starts to beep, and an LED flashes to warn the patient. The user can take the pill by pressing the green button within two minutes after the alarm. In this case, servo motors connected pill sections to the \"shelf\" part of the device. By pulling the shelf, the patient can reach the pills. Otherwise, this device sends an e-mail to the preset e-mail address (and a short message to the phone number) of the person who is responsible for the patient.","PeriodicalId":112412,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Intelligent Systems with Applications","volume":"27 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121929158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the catheters are in direct contact with the tissue in these procedures, their movements must be controlled. In this study, three different sliding-mode controllers that can be used to control the movement of the catheter have been proposed. These are the classical sliding mode controller, quasi sliding mode controller, and asymptotic sliding mode controller structures. Performance comparison of the controllers was made by assessing the closed-loop system response. The results indicated that the performance of the quasi sliding mode controller was better than the other controllers. It has been proposed to use a fuzzy logic-based highest controller to improve the performance of the quasi sliding mode controller. The proposed controller structure updates the controller parameters depending on the predicted disturbance magnitude and position error. The results show that the real-time performance of the quasi sliding mode controller is improved by the change of the proposed control structure.","PeriodicalId":112412,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Intelligent Systems with Applications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129886645","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unlike traditional user-targeted field security robot approaches, the robot mentioned in this study detects potential threats in the task area with image processing and artificial intelligence techniques, so the user can accurately identify and autonomously target targets without the need for controlled targeting. Unlike today’s armed robots, an electromagnetic armed robot, which will be a new literature study, has been developed to create a reference path. An electromagnetic weapon that can be carried by a robot is produced and integrated into the robot and a new armed robot approach with electromagnetic weapon is introduced. Various methods are proposed considering the range restriction of electromagnetic weapons and possible targeting errors of the robot user. A control algorithm has been developed to have the most appropriate targeting under the dynamic constraints of the robot and user for target tracking. Prototyping and experiments show the ability of an autonomous security robot with an autonomous targeting system to troubleshoot user problems and targeting problems. In addition, various methods and recommendations are provided for the features that a electromagnetic armed security robot working in the field should have.","PeriodicalId":112412,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Intelligent Systems with Applications","volume":"119 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121242344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
