Thermal diffusion starts above 600 K and ensures decomposition of the solid solution up to 700 K; at higher temperatures it provides homogenization of the solid solution with the dissolution of intermetallic compounds in accordance with the equilibrium phase diagram. It is shown that, upon irradiation with electrons above 240 K, vacancy clusters are formed in both the aged and quenched alloys. Dissociation of clusters occurs at temperatures ranging between 350 and 500 K and leads to solid solution decomposition under the influence of diffusion caused by migrating vacancies with the formation of intermetallic precipitates. Irradiation at 423 K causes migration of vacancies and decomposition of the solid solution. In alloys irradiated at both temperatures above 700 K, as well as in unirradiated alloys, the precipitates dissolve in accordance with a single equilibrium dependence.","PeriodicalId":11165,"journal":{"name":"Diagnostics, Resource and Mechanics of materials and structures","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90046094","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results indicate a beneficial effect of friction stir processing on the strength properties of both alloys. The number of tool passes along the processing line has no effect on the mechanical properties and particle size of silicon in the aluminum matrix. The greatest influence on the mechanical properties is exerted by the first pass with the tool. The yield strength of the processed Al-9 %Si alloy increases by more than a factor of 1.5, whereas for the Al-12 %Si alloy there is no increase in yield strength. The tensile strength of the Al-12 %Si alloy increases by 17 %, while that of the Al-9 %Si alloy increases by 29 %. The most significant is the increase in relative elongation to failure, namely 77 % for Al-12 %Si and 113 % for Al-9 %Si.","PeriodicalId":11165,"journal":{"name":"Diagnostics, Resource and Mechanics of materials and structures","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83898530","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The numerical solution is based on the boundary element method. In order to optimize and enhance the effectiveness of the computer implementation of the algorithm, the computations are parallelized and the OpenMP application program interface is used. The program is tested by comparing the calculation results with the data of known exact solutions. The calculations confirm the correctness of the numerical solutions and the possibility of full scaling at different numbers of boundary elements according to the number of cores/processors available. The program is applicable to solving axisymmetric heat conduction and diffusion problems and, as a component of a software system, to solving nonlinear problems.","PeriodicalId":11165,"journal":{"name":"Diagnostics, Resource and Mechanics of materials and structures","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86189651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A technique is proposed for dividing magnetostriction into components, namely those induced by the displacement of interdomain boundaries and those caused by the mechanism of rotation of spin magnetic moments. The dependences of the magnetostriction components on the tempering temperature of the hardened steel are constructed. This contributes to an increase in the effectiveness (accuracy) of evaluating elastic stresses in a steel structure by magnetoelastic methods. The essence of the technique lies in the application of the Langevin function to describing the experimental magnetostriction curves of the tempered 60G steel.","PeriodicalId":11165,"journal":{"name":"Diagnostics, Resource and Mechanics of materials and structures","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82446538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The announced exact solution belongs to the Ostroumov–Birikh family. Two components of the velocity vector depend on the vertical (transverse) coordinate. The concentration field and the pressure field are described by linear forms relative to horizontal (longitudinal) coordinates, with coefficients depending on the third coordinate. The components of the velocity field and the shear stress field are analyzed in detail, and the behavior of the specific kinetic energy is studied. It is shown that this exact solution is capable of describing the stratification of the shear stress field and the nonmonotonic behavior of flow velocity. The relation of flow velocities and shear stresses to the distribution of specific kinetic energy is revealed.","PeriodicalId":11165,"journal":{"name":"Diagnostics, Resource and Mechanics of materials and structures","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79565734","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Long-range migration of radiation-induced defects starts slightly above 200 K in Fe-13.4Cr. The silicon addition in Fe13.6Cr-1.9Si leads to immobilization of Frenkel pair defects thus making the peaks of the stages of the onset of long-range migration shift towards high temperatures up to 370 K and 420 K for self-interstitial atoms and vacancies, respectively. This finding confirms the data obtained earlier for Fe16Cr-Si alloys by means of positron annihilation technique (JNM 508(2018) 100–106) on trapping of radiation-induced defects on Si agglomerates (clusters consisting of several silicon atoms) formed during defect migration.","PeriodicalId":11165,"journal":{"name":"Diagnostics, Resource and Mechanics of materials and structures","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81989118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The pressures were about 5, 8, 10 and 12 GPa. The Au–Co system is characterized by restricted solubility and difference in properties of the constituents. It was found that, in compari-son with the data obtained at room torsion temperature, the values of the shear stress are higher both at the stage of the initial intensive growth and subsequently, upon reaching saturation. With an in-crease in pressure of low-temperature mechanical alloying, a corresponding increase in the resistance to shear strain is observed at all stages of processing. In this case, the shape of the curves at each new pressure changes, as does the staging of the strain dependence. This reflects the extreme heter-ogeneity of the structure formation and phase composition processes of the non-equilibrium alloy. The most intense reflections in the X-ray diffractogram correspond to supersaturated fcc solid solu-tion of cobalt based on gold-base matrix. Also as a result of mechanical alloying, the components of the system are evenly distributed on the fracture surface of the alloy.","PeriodicalId":11165,"journal":{"name":"Diagnostics, Resource and Mechanics of materials and structures","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82467902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
