But, this algorithm is computationally slow as each and every point of all intermediate profile lines are tested for their visibility. Other available algorithms, although faster, only provide an approximation of the viewshed. So, an accurate viewshed algorithm whose computational speed is faster is imperative. In this regard, a faster and accurate viewshed algorithm based on faster Line-Of-Sight (LOS) computation has been devised and implemented in this paper. The improvement is based on computation of LOS which separates the shadow regions whose visibility does not need to be tested. This significantly reduces the number of intermediate points for visibility analysis thus making the computation faster. Experimental tests were carried over the geographic database of 48,000 sq. km which included terrains varying from 58 m to 8,000 m. The obtained results have shown an average improvement of 24% in the overall viewshed computation.","PeriodicalId":111111,"journal":{"name":"2017 21st International Computer Science and Engineering Conference (ICSEC)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130014474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are differences in control mechanism pathways between plant and animal miRNAs. It is hypothesized that these differences may originate from differences in the characteristics of precursor miRNA structures between animals and plants. This work proposes a combination of AdaBoost and random forests in order to discriminate between plant and animal precursor miRNAs. Many features related to the precursor miRNAs characteristics from many literatures were collected and filtered. Seven classification models were compared, including naïve bayes, neural network, k-nearest neighbor, decision tree, support vector machine, random forests and Adaboost random forests. Based on independent test sets, the results showed that the combination of the Adaboost and the random forests model achieved the highest accuracy of 85% in discriminating animals and plants.","PeriodicalId":111111,"journal":{"name":"2017 21st International Computer Science and Engineering Conference (ICSEC)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131493331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since each swarm might trap in different local optimum, the trapped swarm restart with slightly mutation (15% of each particle attributes) along with swaying swarm by randomly use of other swarm GBEST position. In the case of all swarm trapping in the same location, the trap GBEST is also slightly mutate in the same way as particle position. This proposed technique is tested on a set of twenty-four benchmark test functions. Therefore, we want to create an automated system that can identify plant diseases as easily as possible. Our research goal is to help crop growers who might not be experts in plant pathology be able to identify diseases as soon as they occur in order to minimize the spread of disease and the damage to the crops. We propose a very light-weight convolutional neural network architecture that is trained to classify images of corn leaves into one of the four categories: common rust disease, northern leaf blight disease, gray leaf spot disease, or healthy. The dataset used is the PlantVillage dataset taken from plantvillage.org. The dataset consists of 8506 images of corn leaves from 4 categories. We evaluated our model using 5-fold cross-validation, and we achieves an accuracy of 97.09 % on average. The result of our model is slightly worse than the performance of other well-known CNNs architectures, but the complexity of our architecture is much lower, making it more suitable for real-time inferences on resource-constrained devices such as smartphones.","PeriodicalId":111111,"journal":{"name":"2017 21st International Computer Science and Engineering Conference (ICSEC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129053334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a statistical approach has been developed to take into account the variability in the different locations of the transmitter to analyze the path loss values through the walls based on the existing multiwall and multifloor model with the Fresnel Transmission Coefficient. The important statistical parameters such as mean, standard deviation and cumulative distribution function of the multifloored building with the operating frequency at 2.4 GHz are investigated by using the experimental path loss through multiple floors and walls of the multifloored building. The mean and standard deviation values are different due to the layout of the corridors and the standard deviation values are also changed. The mean values through two floors are between 111 and 118 and the standard deviation values are between 3 and 5. The mean values through two floors are more than the mean values through one floor and same floor based on the path loss values when the number of the floors between the transmitter and receiver are increased.","PeriodicalId":111111,"journal":{"name":"2017 21st International Computer Science and Engineering Conference (ICSEC)","volume":"332 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122843898","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
