The independent variables in this study are Government Expenditure, Domestic Investment and Foreign Debt while the dependent variable is Gross Domestic Product. The data used in this research is secondary data for the period 1998-2021. The analytical model used in this study is the multiple linear regression model with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. Based on the results of the study, it shows that government spending and foreign debt have a significant and significant effect on gross domestic product in Indonesia while domestic investment has no effect and is not significant on gross domestic product in Indonesia while simultaneously government spending, domestic investment and foreign debt jointly affect the gross domestic product in Indonesia. The test results for the coefficient of determination show that there is a relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable in this study of 98.57%, which means that the other 01.42% is influenced by other variables outside of this study.","PeriodicalId":109551,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Malikussaleh Public Economics","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125639524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data used in this study is time series data for 1990-2021 obtained from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics and the World Bank. The data were then analyzed using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The results of this study indicate that, in the short term, the previous 1 year had a negative and significant effect on the number of poor people in Indonesia, while the previous 3 years had a positive and significant effect on the number of poor people. In the long term, foreign debt has a positive and significant effect on the number of poor people in Indonesia. FDI in the previous 0 and 3 year lag had a negative and significant effect on the number of poor people in Indonesia, while 1 year before and 3 years earlier FDI had a positive and significant effect on the number of poor people. In the long term, FDI has a negative and insignificant effect on the number of poor people. SR at lag 0 has a negative and significant effect on the number of poor people in Indonesia, whereas in the previous 3 years SR had a positive and significant effect on the number of poor people. In the long term SR has a negative and significant effect on the number of poor people in Indonesia. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that the government should carefully calculate the amount of foreign debt needed and pay attention to the distribution of allocations for the use of foreign debt, especially in the poverty alleviation sector. In addition, the government is expected to create a conducive investment climate and increase state revenues, especially through taxes.","PeriodicalId":109551,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Malikussaleh Public Economics","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129722512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
