National installations for thermal treatment of municipal waste launched in recent years draw on the experience of plants around the world and they use repeatedly proven technologies. Poland, within the framework of EU commitments, must reduce the amount of biodegradable waste going to landfills to 35% by weight of the total municipal waste by July 16, 2020. Other biodegradable waste that can not be recycled should be subjected to biological or thermal decomposition. The purpose of this publication is to determine the efficiency of Polish installations for the thermal treatment of municipal waste, by comparing the energy efficiency ratio of installations in Krakow and Bialystok. These are two of the six installations of thermal waste treatment, which were created in 2015-2016. The Krakow incineration plant is the largest, and the Bialystok one of the smallest. (Termiczne przeksztalcanie odpadow komunalnych to metoda w Polsce na nowo odkryta w ostatnich latach. Krajowe instalacje termicznego przetwarzania odpadow komunalnych uruchamiane w ostatnich latach czerpią z doświadczen zakladow na calym świecie i stosują wielokrotnie sprawdzone technologie. Polska, w ramach zobowiązan unijnych do 16 lipca 2020 roku musi ograniczyc ilośc odpadow biodegradowalnych trafiających na skladowiska do 35% wagowo calkowitej masy odpadow komunalnych. Pozostale odpady biodegradowalne, ktorych nie mozna poddac recyklingowi powinny byc poddane rozkladowi biologicznemu lub termicznemu. Celem niniejszej publikacji jest określenie efektywności polskich instalacji termicznego przeksztalcania odpadow komunalnych, poprzez porownanie wspolczynnika efektywności energetycznej instalacji w Krakowie oraz Bialymstoku. Są to dwie z sześciu instalacji termicznego przeksztalcania odpadow, ktore powstaly w latach 2015-2016. The situations that justify the need to provide expertise, the subject of which are constructions made of reinforced concrete, are described. A layout of the content of expertise that is usually adopted in practice has been included and commented on. The basic principles that should be followed when diagnosing the structures in question are provided. The available diagnostic methods and techniques, including non-destructive and semi nondestructive ones, are reviewed. This review is enriched with classifications that facilitate the selection of specific methods for individual diagnostic needs. In addition, useful literature with regards to the discussed topic has been indicated. S t r e s z c z e n i e W artykule przedstawiono problematykę dotyczącą zasad wykonywania ekspertyz i badań konstrukcji żelbetowych. Przybliżono sytuacje uzasadniające potrzebę sporządzania ekspertyz, których przedmiotem są konstrukcje wykonane z betonu zbrojonego. Zamieszczono i skomentowano, przyjmowany zazwyczaj w praktyce układ treści ekspertyzy. Podano podstawowe zasady, których należy przestrzegać podczas diagnozowania przedmiotowych konstrukcji. Dokonano przeglądu dostępnych metod i technik diagnostycznych, w tym nieniszczących i seminieniszczących. Źródłem biomasy były próby ziemniaków. Zapotrzebowanie na tlen i produkcję dwutlenku węgla monitorowano przez 24 godziny w komorze respirometrycznej o pojemności 2,5 dm3 aparatu Oxymax ER-10. Komorę testową z reprezentatywną próbką biomasy napowietrzano w sposób ciągły i rejestrowano zmiany stężenia gazów (tlen i dwutlenek węgla). Pobór tlenu jest bezpośrednio związany z biologiczną aktywnością mikroorganizmów i biodegradacją materii organicznej. Mikroorganizmy zużywają tlen w celu rozkładu łatwo biodegradowalnego substratu. Postęp degradacji biomasy w procesie biochemicznym w warunkach tlenowych opisano matematycznie metodą regresji liniowej. Dopasowanie obliczonych krzywych sprawdzono za pomocą współczynnika determinacji R2. {"title":"THE EFFECT OF AN ORGANOMETALLIC CATALYST ON THE PROPERTIES OF PEN GRADE BITUMENS","authors":"P. Mieczkowski","doi":"10.30540/SAE-2018-031","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30540/SAE-2018-031","url":null,"abstract":"The research objective of the experiments and analyses described in this paper was evaluation of the effect of a specific organometallic catalyst on the properties of 50/70 and 70/100 pen (paving) grade bitumens. The catalyst under analysis is anhydrous iron (III) chloride. It was added to the bitumens at the percentages of 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and 2%. The research included determination of penetration at 25°C, ring and ball softening point test and Fraass breaking point test. The tests were carried out at three states of the tested binder: non-aged, after short-term ageing (RTFOT procedure) and after long-term ageing (PAV procedure). Additionally, viscosity was determined before and after RTFOT ageing. The experimental data were used to determine the penetration index (PI) value and the plasticity range of bitumens. An increase of the bitumen hardness was observed due to organometallic catalyst addition, particularly noticeable after long-term ageing. The catalyst was found to reduce the viscosity of bitumens in the production temperature range. (Przedmiotem badan i analiz omowionych w artykule jest ocena wplywu katalizatora metaloorganicznego na wlaściwości asfaltu drogowego 50/70 i 70/100. Funkcje katalizatora metaloorganicznego pelnil bezwodny chlorek zelaza (III). Dozowano go w ilości 0,5%, 1,0%, 1,5% oraz 2%. Zakres badan obejmowal: penetracje w 25°C, temperature mieknienia wg metody „pierścien i kula” oraz temperature lamliwości wg Fraassa. Badania wykonano dla trzech stanow lepiszcza: przed starzeniem, po starzeniu krotkoterminowym wg RTFOT oraz po starzeniu dlugoterminowym wg PAV. Dodatkowo wykonano oznaczenie lepkości przed starzeniem i po starzeniu wg RTFOT. Na podstawie uzyskanych wynikow wyznaczono wartośc indeksu penetracji IPoraz temperaturowy zakres plastyczności TZP. Katalizator metaloorganiczny wplynąl na zwiekszenie twardości lepiszcza, szczegolnie po starzeniu dlugotrwalym.
