It is said that in fact, music and the sounds around us affect the perception of the world, our mood, the quality of our work, the effectiveness of rest ... Musical perception is based on the analysis of sounds and their sequence. In this case, an important role is played by the activity of the listener himself, his focus on the perception of differences in sounds. What a person hears in music depends on what he can expect in it, on what we are able to imagine. The musical image is enriched with associations. With the help of the methods of listening to music and observation, it is possible to reveal not only the music that sounds everywhere, be it in the forest, in the field, on the farm, in the city, in the underpass ... Through listening to music, you can also reveal your personal potential. Hearing music means distinguishing its character, following the development of an image: a change in intonation, moods. Music will be beneficial only when it starts to please listeners, passing itself through thoughts and consciousness. Music should sound only for each specific person. The article reflects the importance, significance and relevance of the influence of music on the development and formation of personality. Describes how a person develops through listening to and perceiving music. The importance of such concepts as \"listening\" and \"listening\" to music is shown.","PeriodicalId":106936,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychological and Brain Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131056366","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For most individuals, an innovation that seeks originally to achieve an easier way of doing things has increasingly become a necessity for living. Different terms have been used in literature to describe abnormal use of internet stimulating activities: internet gaming, smartphone addiction, pathological internet use, etc. The worldwide prevalence of Gaming Disorder is 0.7-27.5% with the highest prevalence recorded in Asia. There is a higher male prevalence for GD and a particular study showed differences in neuroimaging of male and female subjects. Despite the increase of studies on GD and technology-related disorders around the world, this topic remains understudied in Africa. While no exact data currently exists for the prevalence of GD among adolescents in Nigeria, studies have shown that sociocultural differences may not be associated with GD which means that identified statistics, risk factors and clinical features from non-localized studies could apply. As more details of GD continue to surface, researchers, clinicians and policymakers need to focus on this emerging condition, especially in a country like Nigeria, with the aims of obtaining relevant data, developing relevant clinical tools and designing public health policies to manage the disorder with regards to the local population’s needs.","PeriodicalId":106936,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychological and Brain Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130197476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Among them are demographic, political, economic, cultural, social. The concept of triumphant old age requires a theoretical discussion of concepts and the introduction of modern world achievements in social work with the elderly. Thus, social work in this aspect is an important means of solving problems, both the elderly and the whole community. The leading person in providing services to the elderly is a social worker. Surveys of the elderly, the study of theoretical developments on this issue suggests that so far such work is being conducted at a satisfactory level. The formation of motivation of social work specialists to serve the elderly can significantly improve the situation. The concept of \"motivation\" covers the internal and external motivational mechanisms of social work of a specialist with the elderly. They are manifested in meeting the professional and personal needs of the social worker, the formation of stable cognitive interests in new technologies of social work with the elderly and in personal self-affirmation. The article examines the external and internal conditions for the formation of motivation of social workers to work with the elderly in Ukraine. Among the external conditions: the state's social policy on institutions providing social services to the elderly, service centers for single disabled elderly people and commercial organizations that provide services to this category of clients; activities of social protection institutions, services for the elderly, including measures related to the provision of additional benefits, services and social benefits to their employees. Among the internal conditions we study: the direction of the specialist to work with the elderly; personal significance of activity, training and retraining of specialists, obtaining emotional satisfaction from work, prevention of burnout. Monitoring of the problem in the Ukrainian environment of social services for the elderly showed an average level of motivation of social workers. To increase it we consider such measures to be appropriate for providing conditions for advanced training and retraining of specialists; their mastery of innovative technologies in this area of social services; creating a psychological climate in accordance with the requirements of social services, and ensuring adequate material support for this area of social services; attention to stimulating the work of specialists, prevention of emotional burnout.","PeriodicalId":106936,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychological and Brain Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131370979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite religion being proven to be central towards the wellbeing and emotional labelling of many individuals in general psychology, it is surprising that limited attention has been given to the linkages between these constructs among performers within sport psychology literature. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the role of religion in the expression of self-reported discrete emotions (anger, anxiety, dejection, excitement, happiness) of elite student-athletes. The descriptive cross sectional survey design was used to conveniently select a sample of three hundred (N = 300) student athletes who filled the Sport Emotion Questionnaire during the 2018 West Africa University Games (WAUG) in Nigeria. A multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) after controlling for age revealed significant main effect for religion on only anger, anxiety, and dejection. A pairwise analysis revealed that student athletes of other religious affiliations (Hinduism, Buddhism and African Traditional Religion) reported being more anxious than their Muslim and Christian counterparts. A similar trend was reported for dejection. Additionally, Christian student athletes reported the least value on anger, followed by Muslims, with athletes from other religions reporting the highest mean value. Findings provide useful information that may help coaches, sport psychologists and other personnel better manage challenging working environment of athletes whose identities are grounded in religious activities. Working with athletes with different religious orientations call for cultural awareness built on understanding diverse religious and/ or spiritual practices, including cultural skills (e.g., cultural reflexivity, culturally informed strategies) that incorporate content related to religious diversity.","PeriodicalId":106936,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychological and Brain Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124641613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Research into the effects of applying training on building resilience in psychiatry is still at an early stage in Italy. Several programs have been developed that contribute to the increase of resilience including the Master Resilience Training (MRT) created based on the previous programs for American soldiers that we are experimenting in this study. Method: In a sample of 30 students, we studied the ability to increase resilience following a psychoeducational intervention structured in 6 weekly sessions. Improvement was assessed with the scales: Test SCL-902, SF-36 (V1), Zung Self-Rating Anxiety scale, BDI-PC, Rathus scale, Resilience Scale, at time To (before treatment) and T1 (after the treatment) to verify the effectiveness of the intervention and the achievement of the set objective. Results: The results obtained from psychoeducational training on the development of resilience show that it is possible to learn and increase resilience. The intervention demonstrated the efficacy in various indices with a significance in the SCL-90 and the Zung Axiety scale, which may particularly related to the greater resilience acquired. The training has proven effective in improving social contacts and strengthening personal relationships, especially favoring positive communication and teaching users to be assertive.","PeriodicalId":106936,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychological and Brain Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130941955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The index of general abilities and knowledge of people at work is influenced by working memory and processing speed. The Cognitive Skills Index (CPI) lays out the conditions for calculating effective retrieval of data from working memory and processing of speed tasks. Objective: The present study aimed to develop a valid and psychometrically evaluated questionnaire for the assessment of the industrial work environment. Method: To assess internal consistency and repeatability, the questionnaire was applied to 1000 employees at Isfahan Steel Industries, and reliability was determined using Cronbach's alpha and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Result: The final questionnaire is composed by 27 items with a high value of validity and reliability, and the resulting tool is a standard tool that can be applied in the work field by researchers, psychologists and health professionals to assess the cognitive effects in the workers’ mental health. More than half of steel employees are worse than their age in social abilities, although their ability to publicly think is comparatively low. Conclusion: The CPI can be helpful in quantifying the analytical capacity of a worker if adequate facilities are sufficient for relative cognitive weaknesses.","PeriodicalId":106936,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Psychological and Brain Sciences","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114716477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
