The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) using the Plomp model which consists of three stages, namely Preliminary Research, Prototyping Stage and Assessment Phase. The test instrument was validated by 7 experts, namely 4 chemistry lecturers of FMIPA UNP, and 3 chemistry teachers using a validation questionnaire. The small group trial was carried out by 6 students and the field test was carried out by 26 students of Senior High School number 1 in Padang. The data analysis technique for content validity uses Lawshe's CVR and the construct validity uses the aiken’s formula. The results showed that the instrument developed had good characteristics in terms of logical validity with a content validity index (CVI) of 0.841 and a construct validity of 0.82. The reliability coefficient of 0.89 is very high. The analysis of discriminating power showed 16 items had very good distinguishing quality, 4 items had good distinguishing quality, 4 items had moderate distinguishing quality. The difficulty index for 88% of the questions is categorized as medium. The correlation of the item score with a significant total score was 21 items. The dictator function on all items is effective. The type of research is research and development with the 4D model were define, design, development, and disseminate. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII F Junior High School 3 Bintan amounting to 32 people in the 2019/2020 academic year. The research data was collected by using a validation technique involving 2 expert validators, each material expert and media expert, also collected by a questionnaire responding from educators and students. The research instrument consisted of validation sheets and questionnaire sheets. The research data were analyzed by changing ordinal data into interval data with the rating scale technique. The percentage of acquisition is calculated to get the category of validity and practicality. The results of this study based on the validation of material experts obtained 88.23% are in very valid criteria and validation of media experts obtained 83.33% are in very valid criteria. This can be seen from the low motivation of students in learning. In addition, in this material students are required to use a variety of terms that are new to them, using letter symbols to indicate characteristic or genes in order to be able to cross and be able to determine the choice of genotypes and phenotypes resulting from these crosses. The purpose of this study was to increase the activities of students who use chess boards on material inheritance. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were 30 students in class IXa. The results of this study indicate the use of chessboard media on class nature inheritance material in class IXa students at SMPN 4 Solok City can increase student activity. One effort that can be done is to implement Experiences, Language, Pictures, Symbols, Application (ELPSA) framework. The pur pose of this research was to determine students' mathematical communication skills through the application of the ELPSA framework. This research is a descriptive quantitative research. The sub jects were Year 8 students of one of Junior High School in Banda Aceh which consisted of 24 students. Data collection is done through stdeunts worksheet and mathematical communication tests. Data ana lysis was performed by calculating the score of students' mathematical communication in groups and individually using percentage techniques. The results of this research are the mathematical com munication abilities of students in groups during learning with the implementation of ELPSA framework producing high average score. The research used mixed-method with embedded experimental design. The subject of this research was 29 students of class X in Sidoarjo state high school. The instrument consists of treatment and measurement instruments. The treatment instruments consist of syllabus, lesson plan, and student worksheet. The measurement instrument consists of scientific reasoning skills test. The test development based on scientific reasoning pattern proposed by Lawson with a reliability of 0.848. The quantitative data on students’ scientific reasoning skills was analyzed using Wilcoxon-test, while qualitative data was analyzed by reducing data and coding using a scientific reasoning pattern rubric. The results show that students’ scientific reasoning skill in heat and temperature increased after following the guided inquiry learning integrated of scaffolding. This study aims to determine the suitability of the application of the scientific approach in accordance with the 2013 curriculum for SMA / MA. The research used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The population in this study was the Edupark Physics research books. The standard book used is seen from several high school physics textbooks made in Indonesia and used in West Sumatra. The sample in this study was the Edupark Textbook of Mifan Waterpark Padang Panjang Physics and standard books namely Physics book for SMA / MA class X curriculum 2013 revised 2016 and class XI curriculum 2013 in 2017 published by Erlangga with the instruction of Marthen Kanginan. The data in this study were taken using research instruments and data collection techniques through documentation studies. The results showed that the level of appropriateness of the application of the scientific approach in the textbook Edupark Physics Mifan Waterpark Padang Panjang based on Permendikbud No. 103 of 2014, there are still many subject matter that have not applied the steps in the scientific approach, so that the results obtained are not in accordance with the percentage 39.6 %. Whereas the standard book that is used has a percentage of 38.2% with the category not quite right. Thus it can be concluded that the Teaching Edupark Textbook of Mifan Waterpark Padang Panjang has a category that is equivalent to the standard book used. This study aims to describe the errors and find factors that cause students errorly answer the questions in Basic Mathematics 1. This is a descriptive research using case study design with interview and test as data collection techniques. Errors analysis conducted with Newman Procedures shows that 4.89% of students experience Reading error, 8.22 % of students experience Comprehension Error, 12.67% experience Transformation Error, 15.11% of students experience Process Skill Error, and 1.56% of students experience Encoding Error. However, teaching experiences for the past two years in Basic Inorganic Chemistry course revealed that many students still failed to master the expected learning outcomes for this topic. Therefore, this explorative study was conducted to figure out what kind of difficulty that students perceived in learning this topic. One hundred and twelve students in science education department of Universitas Negeri Padang enrolled in Basic Inorganic Chemistry course in the academic year of 2017/2018 were involved as subjects in this study, and data of students’ perceived learning difficulties were collected with a questionnaire. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics technique to map out our findings which will become the fundamental consideration in discussing attempts to overcome students’ perceived learning difficulties. Our findings revealed that the sources of students’ perceived difficulty came from several factors, namely: the characteristic of content, personal learning style, condition of classroom learning, availability of relevant learning resources and previous learning experiences. The real situation shows that the importance of the ability of mathematical representation has not been matched by student achievement. This condition can be solved by applying problem based learning model to learning in a context that is familiar to students such as scouts. The aim of this research is to explain the ability of students’ mathematical representation through the Problem Based Learning model with scouts context on circle material at SMPN 8 Banda Aceh. This research used qualitative approach with a type of research is descriptive. Data obtained through tests of student’ mathematical representation abilities and interviews. The ability of students’ mathematical representations was analyzed by utilizing the data obtained in student learning in groups through PBL model and data of result test after the application of PBL model. The achievement of this research is the ability of students’ mathematical representation during learning with PBL model in groups is accordance with the ability of students’ mathematical representation after applying the PBL model. The effectiveness of ARCSI learning models with a scientific approach can be seen from student learning outcomes, through 1) Student Worksheets (LKPD), 2) Test of learning outcomes. The results of the study show that the learning model developed is effective when viewed from students' mathematics learning outcomes. The level of effectiveness of the ARCSI learning model with a scientific approach obtained the results of LKIPD grades VII1 SMP N 7 and class VII1 SMP N 1 Ampek Angkek is categorized as effective with a mean of 75.017. The level of effectiveness of ARCSI learning models with a scientific approach obtained from the value of test questions on cognitive learning outcomes is categorized as effective with a mean of 61.38.
