Research and development (R&D) method with Dick & Carey model was used in this research. It consisted of 5 stages, that were Analysis, Planning, Development, Formative Evaluation, and Revision. Instrument validation was assessed by experts (concept, media and teachers). According to the result of expert assesment, the module earned score 94%. The score was included into very decent category. The score of studentss response was 84,4%. The score was included into very worth category. It can be concluded module based EfSD on ecology concept for X grade students was very decent for learning material.","PeriodicalId":106428,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL EKSAKTA PENDIDIKAN (JEP)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125121535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Instrument used in this study was a two-tiered diagnostic test in the form of multiple-choice questions with choice of reasons that consisted of 16 items. The test was given to 100 grade XI students from various schools in West Sumatra. Students answers were processed by grouping them into 3 categories: understand, have misconceptions and do not understand. Data were then analyzed descriptively by calculating the percentage of students' learning difficulties in all of competency achievement indicators that had been compiled. The results showed that students had difficulty in understanding some concepts of acid base such as acid base theory of Arrhenius (75.2%), of Bronsted-Lowry (81.43%), and of Lewis (100%); pH (94.04%); and acid base ionization constant (97.33%). Results of this research are then used as a consideration in the development of acid-base module designed for grade XI Senior High School learning.","PeriodicalId":106428,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL EKSAKTA PENDIDIKAN (JEP)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131990607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Modules compiled based on guided inquiry learning syntax and integrating experimental activities that will be able to improve students' science process skills. This study aimed to produce a reaction rate module based on guided inquiry integrated experiments and valid student science process skills and practical use in senior high school chemistry learning. The type of this research was research and development (R & D) and the development model used was the 4-D model which consists of four stages: (1) define, (2) design, (3) development, (4) desseminate. This research was limited to the validity and practicality test. The validity test was carried out by 5 experts and limited trials to reveal the practicality done at SMAN 1 Lubuk Basung. The research instrument used was in the form of a validity and practicality questionnaire which was analyzed using kappa moment (k) Data analysis showed that the average moment of kappa validity was 0.84 with a very high validity category. The average practical kappa moments from teachers and students were respectively 0.83 and 0.85 with a very high practicality category. These results were also supported by the analysis of students' answers in answering critical questions, exercises, prelab questions, postlab questions, and worksheets in modules, with an average value of 90.2. Indicators of higher-order thinking skills (IKBTT) are developed based on the cognitive dimension of Bloom's Taxonomy which includes the skills to analyze (C4), evaluate (C5) and create (C6). The assessment instrument developed was a multiple choice test with open reasons. Multiple choice test with open reason is a multiple choice question with four answer choices completed with the reason for choosing an answer. The instrument is equipped with an assessment rubric in the form of a holistic rubric to assess the relationship between multiple choice answers and reasons for choosing answers. The results of the validation of material aspects, construction, and language show that the products developed are very feasible with an average score of 85.7%. The instrument was empirically tested with the number of subjects trying as many as 59 students of 8th grade Junior high school. Based on the results of empirical trials of multiple choice questions with open reasons obtained 25 valid questions with multiple choice reliability of 0.745, and reason reliability of 0.929. The number of questions produced based on C4 cognitive dimensions were 12 questions (48%), C5 cognitive dimensions were 9 questions (36%), and C6 cognitive dimensions were 4 questions (16%). This study produced an instrument for assessing higher-order thinking skills in the material of the hearing and sonar system for Junior high school students that were valid and reliable.","PeriodicalId":106428,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL EKSAKTA PENDIDIKAN (JEP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130152351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many university students fail in calculus course because their understanding on the concept of Integral especially in understanding definition of integral is low. This situation encourages us to design a calculus lesson to build students understanding on Integral especially integral definition by using Realistic Mathematics Education as an approach. For that, we try to design a series of instructional activities starting from introducing sigma to definition of Integral in order to know students difficulties in understanding this topic. Some first-year university students in Universitas Negeri Padang are chosen to test our Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) in our preliminary research. The result is students had difficulties in connecting the sigma, area and definition of integral. This happens because the students did not see that the activities that have been designed as a whole that cannot be separated. Therefore, it is recommended to design a series of instructional activities which is focus on connecting sigma, area and definition of integral.","PeriodicalId":106428,"journal":{"name":"JURNAL EKSAKTA PENDIDIKAN (JEP)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131194347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
