This first isolate obtained in nature from Aedes subgenus Diceromyia shows the primordial part these vectors may have in the area studied. It corroborates the existence of a selvatic focus of yellow fever in this region. Experiments performed at 0 degrees C indicate that THC has no action on thymidine binding to the carrier. The concentrations of progesterone and estradiol receptors, and the activities of ornithine-decarboxylase and 17 beta-hydroxysteroid oxido-reductase enzymes have been measured in the tumor, before and after administration of the anti-estrogen tamoxifen. Kyto) and the corresponding controls (Wistar Kyoto). In three-week-old Rats, phenylethanolamine and p-octopamine are found to be present in S.H.R. hypothalamus and brain stem at concentrations twice as high as compared to Wistar Kyoto Rats. The amount of m-octopamine is 5-fold higher in the brain stem of S.H.R.
