The effects of these EMRs on the population have not been completely characterized despite intense research on this topic. For this reason accurate evaluation of EMR levels in the environment have become essential. Therefore, this study aims to determine the electric field strength (E) levels on Samsun Light Rail System which can board around 90.000 passengers per day. To reach this goal; extensive E measurements were conducted on trams during the journey of total 36 stops for one week long using PMM 8053 EMR meter, and the E with a sampling period of 1 second was recorded. It is seen from the measurement results that the highest E is 5.44 V/m while the highest mean E is 0.40 V/m. Furthermore, contribution of E sources in total E determined on the basis of band selective measurements via SRM 3006 EMR meter, and the main E source is decided as cellular systems. Double integrals over the cross section of the reference element are performed in the spectral domain formulation. Cross section of reference element of two-dimensional periodic structures; such as wedge absorber, is divided into different shape of cells to obtain scattering behavior. Cells are divided right-angled triangles and rectangles for PMM impedance matrix calculation. Integrating over multiple regions and summing results is needed more CPU time. In this paper, a square region based calculation technique instead of multiple regions technique is introduced for efficiently interpolating of two-dimensional PMM impedance matrices. Using this technique, arbitrary-shaped cells are transformed square cells, which have same area and centroid with existing cells. Thus, calculation of double integrals over cells are obtained easily. The large di/dt and dv/dt in fast switching operation interact with parasitic component in circuit wiring, and causes conducted noise. This study focuses on the switching behavior of SiC MOSFET and the conducted noise characteristics in a inverter. These systems are operating in a very limited space resulting in significant interference issues. Therefore, it is crucial to take into the account the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) through the project life time starting in the design stage. This paper presents briefly the EMC management and control plan of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) to ensure that the various railway subsystems can function satisfactorily in their intended electromagnetic environment. The EMC approach taken in the MRT Railway project in Malaysia is outlined in this paper. All the MRT railway communications systems should not disturb the operation of each other or the other nearby systems. These communications systems should not be also susceptible to any intentional/unintentional EMI sources in the MRT railway environment. The EMC management and control plan is helpful to avoid EMC/EMI issues of MRT such as EMI sources/ victims identification and risk assessment starting from the design to commissioning. Commonly, all the equipment on the railway must comply to the relevant EMC railway standards such as EN50121. Furthermore, cable management is significantly considered especially for very limited spaces such as tunnels. The first design consists of two SRRs (split ring resonators) having gaps in opposite directions; and it has a S21 resonance at 3.7 GHz. The second design has identical SRRs; and it has a S21 resonance at 3.54 GHz. Both designs were realized via a CNC surface drilling tool. Fabricated SRR super cells were measured with WR229 waveguide. Simulated and measured results were compared and presented. We analyze a novel chiral metamaterial absorber composed of crescent shaped split-ring resonators at the X-band (8.2–12.4 GHz). To supplement proposed absorber, different loss tangent (δ) values are also considered. Reflection and absorption spectra illustrated high-performance nearly unity absorption levels (maximum absorption) around resonance region. The proposed absorber can find applications in which ultra-thin absorbers are needed and can be a good candidate for promising applications since it is constructed ultra-thin 1.2 mm (0.04λ). All simulations are performed by CST Microwave Studio environment using frequency domain solver. This study includes two stage analysis procedures. Firstly, field expressions and resonance frequency of the dielectric loaded rectangular resonant cavity with respect to dielectric loading rate are obtained for different TEy and TMy modes by using semi-analytical approach. Secondly, perturbation method is applied for acquiring resonance frequency of each chosen different mode and dielectric constant with respect to dielectric loading rate. Comparison of two different method in terms of variation of resonant frequency with respect to relative dielectric thickness is performed for different dielectric loading case for the same mode and different modes for the same dielectric loading. Especially, while designing the user terminals for harsh environments employing displays and various connectors, special attention should be paid to comply with EMC requirements. Because of tendency to reduce the device sizes, increasing the functionality, more complex circuits with higher clock speed is needed. Therefore, EMC compliance is becoming a more difficult task. Since product design is very costly and time consuming, especially for the products which have high operating frequency, there is a great need to evaluate EMC/EMI in the design environment. This paper focuses on the design for EMC compliance for a Rugged Voice & Data Terminal. The minimization of the radiated and conducted emission is described from the design of PCB to manufacturing of whole unit.
