Unlike many developing countries, the global supply chains have been revolutionized using various digital technologies. However, in Pakistan, the pharmaceutical sector to be specific, although growing exponentially, still fails to provide maximum efficiency in their supply chain including minimal traceability and visibility from the company's end. This study illustrates the current scenario of the pharmaceutical sector of Pakistan analyzing the gaps and potential areas for opportunities and improvements. The systematic review of literature and meta-analysis aims to provide a basis to understand the current challenges faced by the companies and help formulate a framework to provide a basis for the implementation of the most suited digital technology such as block chain or QR code to encounter and minimize the counterfeit of drugs, increase traceability and streamlining the processes and entities involved in the supply chain.","PeriodicalId":104495,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Circular Economy and Waste Management","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129838695","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A short and safe transit route improves overall transport efficiency and environmental sustainability while reducing logistical costs. Since China's need of oil is increasing day by day, the logistics service providers (LSPs) continually seek a quick and safe transit route for faster demand response time with a low price. China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a new hope for LSPs for the supply of oil and other goods to China with a short and safe transit route. The traditional sea routes of oil supply are very long and time-consuming. However, through the development of CPEC, the results have shown a massive decline in route distance, delivery time, and cost that will help the LSPs with continuous supply with low costs and promoting environmental sustainability.","PeriodicalId":104495,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Circular Economy and Waste Management","volume":"15 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114011698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, in the circular economy, the idea further goes to reuse the raw material. Sustainability is still an evolving subject in apparel and textile, which needs to investigate from many angles. Excess inventory at the supplier's end also impacts sustainability and needs due attention from researchers and practitioners to ponder. Applying the correct forecast technique and minimum errors results in better financial performance and reduced environmental pollution, impacting the triple bottom line in the true sense. The current study uses a systematic review on textile and apparel forecasting, highlighting the earlier research, thus contributing to the literature on sustainability and supply chain management.","PeriodicalId":104495,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Circular Economy and Waste Management","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129041536","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Around 3.3 million tons of plastic are wasted annually, with an annual plastic product usage growth rate of 15%. The recycling sector is unstructured, policies at the state level are non-existent to address plastic waste management. Pakistan, as a developing country is also turning towards circular economy practices to benefit businesses and the environment. This case study is done with support from SPEL and aims to perform a systematic literature review, analyzing the present frameworks followed by developed countries for the implementation of CE in developing countries, its critical analysis for the gaps to achieve sustainability in view of UN SDGs 2030 along with the study of factors impacting PWM. The findings showed that the current system is primarily focused on garbage collection and transportation with very little focus on its management. Religion, culture, educational awareness, and psychology can play moderating roles in implementing CE practices. It will provide a conceptual framework that can be implemented by SPEL.","PeriodicalId":104495,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Circular Economy and Waste Management","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128145136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, restaurants are the leading source of food waste. However, identifying the causes and dangers of food waste in the restaurant's process flow is crucial. As a result, a restaurant framework is necessary for process flow rectification and identification of critical control points. The current research, which employed a qualitative approach, establishes a framework that outlines the critical controls and their impact on social, environmental, and economic issues. The data was gathered through structured interviews and observations from multiple eateries. The framework includes redesigning flexible menus, offering employee training, reducing plate sizes, implementing a forecasting system, and implementing a lean inventory management system to effectively reduce food waste. Why should Consumer Social Responsibility (CnSR) in the sustainable value chains matter? In this paper, we examine global consumers' responsibilities in the context of the United Nations' Sustainable Agenda 2030, Goal 12. Goal 12 addresses sustainable production and consumption. We explore CnSR from normative and descriptive standpoints. We look explicitly at the consumers' duties and responsibilities to influence global production and supply networks. To accomplish this purpose, we apply philosophical theories to the importance of sustainable value chains, especially to the meaning of 'value' in a sustainable supply chain. Consumers can and should influence corporations with global supply chains to produce goods sustainably while still meeting consumers' needs worldwide. We also look at why consumers should be willing to live up to these responsibilities in the context of sustainable supply chains.","PeriodicalId":104495,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Circular Economy and Waste Management","volume":"313 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116109684","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are exposed to a variety of toxic chemicals through dermal contact, inhalation, and ingestion, which are not only detrimental to their health but to the environment also. The paper adopts a cross-sectional study design to gain insights into hazardous ways of processing e-waste by the informal sector, and subsequently, health illness arises among the recycler. ANOVA and Multiple Regression Analysis are used for analyzing the data of the study. The test statistic reveals that there is a significant relationship between education and hazardous recycling practices followed by informal workers. Those who lack formal education were indifferent towards crude recycling practices as it was linked to livelihood wherein educated were forced to carry out such activity as they had no other opportunity available for them.","PeriodicalId":104495,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Circular Economy and Waste Management","volume":"5 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131806280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
