This study presents an innovative algorithm for ecotourism route planning, focusing on aligning tourists with attractions to enhance growth and appeal. The research utilizes ecological attractions in the Taihu Lake scenic area as an experimental dataset, incorporating historical travel data to examine the relationship between user characteristics and ecotourism attractions. Backpropagation neural networks and one-hot encoding are employed to predict visitor experiences. At the same time, a new ecotourism route design method combining deep learning and an ant colony algorithm based on average distance is applied to formulate an optimal ecotourism route. Results indicate Yuan Tou Zhu and Ling Shan as the top recommended destinations, with the optimal path identified as 1, 2, 3, 6, 4, 5, 7. This suggests that considering individual tourist preferences significantly elevates visitor satisfaction in ecotourism route planning, and it reveals the positive impact of aligning tourist attributes with attraction features. The findings underscore the importance of integrating user preferences into ecotourism planning strategies. Prioritizing personalized tourist experiences significantly enhances the effectiveness of ecotourism route planning initiatives. The research contributes a comprehensive framework for revitalizing ecotourism in the digital age, recommending the prioritization of individual tourist inclinations and attraction compatibility. Furthermore, adopting deep learning techniques and one-hot encoding is suggested to enhance the accuracy and efficacy of ecotourism planning.","PeriodicalId":103724,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management Thinking","volume":"9 s1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140739522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using secondary data from 1978 to 2021, this study aims to pinpoint the macroeconomic factors that contribute to income inequality in Sri Lanka. The basic estimating method is the autoregressive distributed lag model (ARDL), a rarely used analytical tool in Sri Lanka. The results show that the primary macroeconomic predictors of income inequality in Sri Lanka among the selected variables are government spending, trade openness, average prices, the share of agriculture in the GDP, and per capita GDP. Additionally, the findings demonstrate that trade openness and government spending cause income inequality, supporting Barro's theory. Additionally, the average price level and the percentage of agriculture in the GDP have helped to lessen income disparity in the nation. Per capita GDP also shows a marginal significance, supporting Kuznets’ view, which stresses that increasing a country’s GDP increases inequality. However, financial deepening and secondary school enrolment ratios do not show significant impacts emphasizing that financial and education factors do not contribute to inequality in the Sri Lankan setting. The study suggested that policy priority should be given to developing the agricultural sector and catching the spillover effect of international trade to reduce income inequality. That would ultimately lead to lowering trade-induced inequality. Furthermore, a crucial policy choice to lower the expense of daily life for the poor is to maintain a constant overall price level. Government transfer programs should primarily target the poor and maintain a proper monitoring mechanism to capture the outcome of those transfers also important. Currently, such a follow-up system is not in place; therefore, the government’s targets of reducing inequality couldn’t be realized to the fullest.","PeriodicalId":103724,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management Thinking","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124838829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The findings indicated that young, female hotel staff made up the majority. A significant number of hotels were successful in implementing DMPs, and the staff members were conscious of how their employers were working to give both genders the same opportunity for recruiting, decision-making, development and training, a raise, and remuneration. However, the study additionally revealed that the strategy employed by hotel businesses to assist their staff members in balancing their professional and familial responsibilities may contribute in impeding instead of advancing gender parity. Specifically, the study found that hotel companies often offered childcare benefits and flexible work arrangements, but these benefits were not always accessible to all employees. The findings of this research indicate that hotel corporations need to take further steps to make sure that their DMPs are successful and do not obstruct gender parity.","PeriodicalId":103724,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Management Thinking","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115350824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
