Toward this goal, we review 13 smartglasses prototypes designed for users with visual impairments, which we identified from a survey of more than 500 scientific papers and a survey of commercial smartglasses. We perform a meta-analysis of our findings according to a set of eleven categories of commands to effect for assistive smartglasses applications. Our results are useful to researchers and practitioners to inform design of voice input commands for smartglasses and users with visual impairments.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129616138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this MR Platform is to provide interaction with the Internet of Everything (IoE). We embrace the Ubiquitous computing paradigm, where services follow the user seamlessly across physical locations. An emphasis is made on context awareness, which is central in designing a MR application, by anchoring the right multimodal content to the right circumstance. We aim at providing an architecture which splits awareness into four levels with respect to knowledge representation, in order to provide a tool for non-programmers to design applications.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124587719","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The movement or preparation of the movement is typically accompanied by a decrease of the mu and beta rhythms, especially in the contralateral area of the movement, which is a piece of very important knowledge for the implementation of a brain computer interface. The EEG signal was recorded using 8 active electrodes placed in the motor areas of the scalp. Features extraction was performed by decomposing the original signal in subcomponents signal with the frequency band in the interest range using multiresolution wavelet analysis based Daubechies wavelets. Multi-layer perceptron neural networks (MLP-NN) method is utilized for the classification of the features. This classifier performs well, 95.45% was the maximum classification rate for the subjects involved in the study. The superiority of the classifier MLP-NN was sustained also by The Friedman Two-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) by Ranks Test.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121501783","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their basic principle is to inform drivers of all types of vehicles and also pedestrians of their current active status. The number of cars has increased drastically so that it is very common to get stuck in traffic in rush hours. The road infrastructures in cities use multiple lanes and also traffic lights to direct traffic and to ensure and safety. Today traffic lights can also be used simultaneously to establish communication between vehicles and infrastructure with the help of visible light communication (VLC). This new feature could be key in attempting to diminish road accidents with the use of important information. Real-time analysis of traffic information is required in order to pass relevant information to the driver. This can be gained with an interconnected infrastructure throughout the city. Therefore when a certain level of traffic is reached, redirection of traffic would prevent traffic jams, and also urgent messages like an incoming ambulance/fire truck/police car in the mission would be passed to drivers to allow free passage. In this era of information, informing prevents panic and also the sudden course of action. This paper describes the development of such capable traffic light, based on OLED decorative panels. The obtained traffic light system has been tested indoor for its suitability for vehicular applications.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126890231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The performance of the proposed control system is presented in comparison with the classic Field Oriented Control (FOC) system. The implementation of a load torque observer allows the selection of a specially trained corresponding ANN to obtain optimum performance over the load torque variation ranges. The PMSM equations, the speed and load torque observers equations, the main blocks and control structures, their parameterizations and the results of the numerical simulations obtained are presented. The good results obtained as a result of the numerical simulations involving the use of the usual Simulink and Stateflow blocks, which can be implemented in embedded systems recommend the real-time implementation of the proposed PMSM control system.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129332877","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through an experiment with multiple trials, we investigate the factors that could have an impact on the recognition rate. We found that removing the armband between sessions of use and a small spatial distance between pointing locations have a negative impact on the accuracy. By applying an exploratory approach, we found a configuration with a 97.3% recognition rate.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116359059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The digital content is overlaid onto the physical space by employing hierarchical structures for content organization. We implement analogies with the physical world adapting laws of physics, such as gravity, to digital content. To this end, we rely on concepts from the fields of Augmented Reality, Wearable Computing, Software Engineering, and Human-Computer Interaction to propose a new model for accessing digital content anchored in the physical reality. In our prototype, reality is augmented with containers of digital content represented graphically as semiopaque spheres that float in the physical space around the user. We describe the properties of the spherical containers of digital content, such as their size and relative location in the physical environment, and their relationships to the user and the physical world. We also present interaction techniques based on gesture input that enable users to access the digital content contained by the virtual spheres. We present our technical implementation using the Microsoft holographic computer HoloLens and exemplify use case scenarios for our wearable prototype.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126118080","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
