Battery energy storage systems represent a solution for solving the problem of solar resource intermittency and, at the same time, may decrease the electricity bill by supplementing the electricity self-consumption of residences. This paper is aiming to evaluate from a technical and economic point of view the viability of a grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic system combined with several battery energy storage systems for a residence in Romania. The results obtained indicated that mainly due to current costs of energy storage and photovoltaics, the installation of a battery energy storage system together with a photovoltaic system could be profitable only when upfront subsidies are granted.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128316078","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposes a theoretical study followed by a simulation analysis of the dynamic response of an electrical actuator system driven by scalar control algorithm that can provide corresponding drive signals to (either) a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) or a Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor. For the basic design of the PMSM / BLDC motor was intensively used the Finite Element Method (FEM) software tool to obtain a more realistic and plausible model. The equivalent mathematical model of the proposed system (and its basic components) was further implemented in MATLAB / Simulink software environment for extended analysis under both static and dynamic operating conditions. One of the basics objectives of this study is to analyze the possibility of further integration of this type of systems into electric vehicles platforms, such as brake-by-wire or steering actuation systems.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"257 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133405758","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods of regulating the microgrids input voltage are conventionally achieved by linear control loops. This type of control presents limitations like high sensitivity to parameter variations and slow transient response. The operation of the microgrids at the maximum power point is analyzed. The inverter’s the optimal power values are determined based on the simulated data. The simulations were carried out in the MATLAB/Simulink simulation environment. Based on the vector control, the voltage drops on the inverter transistors are calculated in advanced for the next step, based on the phase diagram. The IoT (Internet of Things) concept is currently in the focus of the entire academic community. The main contribution of the work is the performance level evaluation associated to the LoRaWAN scalability. Within the scientific literature, there are a series of scientific papers which attempt to analyze the performance level of LoRaWAN communication technology, but none of them use a specialized software like SimpleIoTSimulator. This paper comes to fill in the gap and tries to materialize a study that allows for the analysis of the performance level. The user can easily generate the traffic from tens of thousands of LoRa nodes. The SimpleIoTSimulator platform can be directly connected to the TTN Server that receives the traffic as it is generated by real LoRa sensors. From the obtained results we can conclude that SimpleIoTSimulator ensures a high level of performance and will contribute to the opening of new research directions in the field of high density LoRa sensor networks.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125692602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Those systems can include features such as easily monitoring plants growing process, a thing that is widely needed now because of the population number exponential growth, expecting to reach 9.7 billion until the year 2050. This thing is going to increase the need for food exponentially and at the same thing, it is going to reduce the area of usable soil for agriculture while the available natural resources are going to decrease. The traditional methods of environment data collecting are still in use, such as using human labor periodically to determine the different conditions such as weather, water levels, and possible pests present in the fields. In this article, we are proposing a monitoring system capable of collecting information about the environment (such as, humidity, temperature, and luminosity) that could allow the optimal growth of plants by integrating a network of sensors capable of transmitting the collected data by using the SigFox technology. This system intends to increase productivity and profits, reduce human labor, and eventually, integrate other technologies to make the agricultural process simpler and more efficient.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121868585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The considered method comes to solve such problems as competition and synchronization, which are present in the multidimensional signals processing. The solution is achieved by performing in parallel all operations, replacing the analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) with differentiation operations and analyzing the signal variation rate based on the Fuzzy logic elements. As a result of these operations, using digital integration models, binary code streams are obtained that allow the reconstruction of the signal shape. Mathematical models applied for the transformation and processing of multidimensional signals are presented. The designed system for the multidimensional signal processing consists of a computing unit, the test signals generator, the data storage unit, the Printed Circuit Board with nodes for test signals application and retrieval, and finally the processing elements for differentiation and analysis based on Fuzzy logic.","PeriodicalId":103267,"journal":{"name":"2020 International Conference on Development and Application Systems (DAS)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129067751","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
