Different societies are implementing both indirect and direct democracy. Various factors define the level of realization of one of the two. The dominant form of government is a representative democracy. Switzerland is an excellent example of higher usage of direct democracy with its federal, cantonal, and municipal referendums. Nowadays, the issue of direct democracy deserves special attention. In this context, the Handbook of Direct Democracy in Central and Eastern Europe after 1989 accentuates the implementation of direct democracy in 21 European countries.","PeriodicalId":102583,"journal":{"name":"Postmodernism Problems","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123482504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, three indicators are studied – demographic, social, and economical. The thesis is that the extermination will most likely occur in 2035-2043 when risk factors are superimposed both from the descending phase of the next generation cycle of Simon Kuznets and from the ascending phase of the US military budget.","PeriodicalId":102583,"journal":{"name":"Postmodernism Problems","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124053469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, that stage in the history of the media in Arab countries witnessed wide development in the use of satellite channels, websites, and smartphones. As the study shows, these technologies were employed as mechanisms that helped people interact, move, and participate. Based on the paradigm for the knowledge pyramid scheme, the study attempted to highlight the stages of information transmission from the first stage, which is the data stage, through the information stage, then the third stage, which is the knowledge stage, towards the final stage, which is the action stage. The study analyzes that overcoming the gradual stages of information transmission and passing from raw information to action led to the existence of the Arab social movement in the hands of activists who did not have a program or strategy for change in front of a movement that was able to overthrow old political regimes, but it did not have alternatives. As part of the analysis track, the study depends on a careful analysis of the roles of active groups in change. It pertains to the role of politicians, intellectuals, activists, and journalists.","PeriodicalId":102583,"journal":{"name":"Postmodernism Problems","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127141910","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper is based on the understanding that language is not neutral and the patterns of speaking revealed in the media have a direct link to social relations and structures. This paper explores how different models of alternative speaking on the Syrian and Ukrainian refugee waves (what I call alternative discourses on the Syrian and Ukrainian refugee waves) function to legitimize and delegitimize certain state policies related to the adaptation and integration of Syrian and Ukrainian refugees.","PeriodicalId":102583,"journal":{"name":"Postmodernism Problems","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121478538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Existing notions of justice and results of studies of established unfavorable processes in different countries, such as insufficient support of affected groups, mechanisms of rent extraction and corrupt practices, are analyzed. The review outlines serious challenges to the necessary transitions to low carbon energy systems. On this basis, the study argues for the need to build public capacity through a preliminary and consistent framework that clearly outlines pro-development notions of justice, meaningful alignment of social and environmental goals, and honest monitoring of potential problems, along with solutions to overcome them.","PeriodicalId":102583,"journal":{"name":"Postmodernism Problems","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131937471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It discusses the positive and the negative aspects of their use in scientific research and attempts to highlight the challenges of using social media for empirical data collection. Facebook and its growing levels of consumption attracts research interest because it facilitates recruitment of respondents, saves considerable money, time and effort, and opens access to hard-to-reach populations and highly engaged citizens in a variety of topics. At the same time, the use of online space for empirical data collection remains problematic in terms of representativeness, accessibility and security. The article briefly describes the process of recruiting Facebook respondents to participate in an online survey - a post-election study. The analysis of the results clearly shows the outreach, based on convenience sampling, to an online sample that is characterized by high interest in political issues, active communication practices, variety of information sources used, well-established practices of civic activism and participation in elections, relatively stable party affiliation and consistency in political orientation.","PeriodicalId":102583,"journal":{"name":"Postmodernism Problems","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133173163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A special attention is paid to and the relevant problems are discussed regarding the subject of the abstract thinking, the “uneducated” person in a global context, as far as regarding the social and the cultural conditions generating him.","PeriodicalId":102583,"journal":{"name":"Postmodernism Problems","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128538329","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current EU social policy applies a new approach that emphasizes the need to invest in education and training and the provision of quality social services throughout the life course of people - from early childhood to old age. It relies on the mutual enrichment of national and supranational forms of social protection.","PeriodicalId":102583,"journal":{"name":"Postmodernism Problems","volume":"1422 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123363596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
