Hence, the growing number of academic studies about credit scoring shows a variety of classification methods applied to discriminate good and bad borrowers. This paper, therefore, aims to present a systematic literature review relating theory and application of binary classification techniques for credit scoring financial analysis. The general results show the use and importance of the main techniques for credit rating, as well as some of the scientific paradigm changes throughout the years.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":101192,"journal":{"name":"Surveys in Operations Research and Management Science","volume":"21 2","pages":"Pages 117-134"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/j.sorms.2016.10.001","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134529559","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Funding systems, funds, and their characteristics have a very strong impact on the success of HOs in fulfilling their and donor needs. A wide variety of articles exists on humanitarian supply chain management (HSCM) and on managing and raising donations. However, a limited, yet growing, branch of literature explores topics in the new field of the interface between funding and HSC. This article provides an overview of research in this field and tries to capture how it has been developing. We achieve this overview through structuring the core issues discussed in the literature into a funding—humanitarian supply chain (HSC) interface framework. The framework leads to the identification of research gaps and promising areas for future research. The article raises awareness of the importance of carefully evaluating decisions related to funding systems and provides researchers and practitioners interested in this topic with guidance with respect to the core issues to be considered.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":101192,"journal":{"name":"Surveys in Operations Research and Management Science","volume":"21 2","pages":"Pages 31-45"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/j.sorms.2016.10.003","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74728035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While such models have proven useful in providing implementable solutions with a verified impact, they are also more cumbersome to document in a clear and concise manner. In this paper, we recommend: (i) conventions for defining sets, parameters, and variables, (ii) ways of presenting the objective and constraints, and (iii) means by which to organize formulations. While other conventions may be perfectly acceptable, we suggest one set of guidelines for graduate students, academics, and practitioners in need of clearly and easily presenting a large, complex optimization model. Self-study and/or the introduction of these principles into an applied, advanced graduate class can remove ambiguity from model formulations and improve the communication between modelers and their intended audience.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":101192,"journal":{"name":"Surveys in Operations Research and Management Science","volume":"21 1","pages":"Pages 1-17"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1016/j.sorms.2016.05.001","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81866176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
