Despite the global effects of the war in Ukraine, the ongoing trade war between the United States and China, and the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, this industry showed remarkable resilience. The demand for laser sources in both industry and consumer products has significantly accelerated their sales. If this trend is not affected by any destabilizing factors, the global laser sources market is expected to reach a total value of 26.8 billion US dollars by 2027, with a growth rate of 6.8 %.</p>","PeriodicalId":101021,"journal":{"name":"PhotonicsViews","volume":"21 2","pages":"40-43"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/phvs.202400013","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140340243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lasers excel in most difficult tasks due to their ability to deliver energy with great precision, and their temporal and spatial control. Dual-beam, adjustable mode beam (AMB) technology enables the versatile spatial control of laser energy deposition, providing wide process windows for defect-free welding and focal spot positioning. The AMB technology improves process quality and speed in dissimilar material welding, copper welding and in structural aluminum welding across many applications in the automotive industry – from the production of batteries and drivetrains to structural body parts.</p>","PeriodicalId":101021,"journal":{"name":"PhotonicsViews","volume":"21 2","pages":"52-55"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-04-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/phvs.202400010","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140340454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
